Because I have a mother who has the mental capacity of a twelve year old and my older brother has the mentality of a six year and my dad was never around I'm really empathetic towards Lucy, that feeling of having to be the grown up, and not wanting to learn things that mum couldn't.

did anyone notice Elle didn't want to do the movie she cried the whole time. On the sceane which she's in they gave her candy and someone made her laugh the rest of time on set she hugged and kept next to Dakota.

When I was 12, I didn't even understand disabilities the way Dakota understands at the age of 6. Her level of maturity at such a young age is crazy.

I almost started crying just watching this. It's such an emotional realistic movie, and it truly tugs on my heart strings.

There are lots of good ideas and performances in this film, but it is just so shmaltzy.
