      Yup, and compared to a SS keg it's incredibly light. Perfect for taking camping or to a friends place.

    3 daisy chained together work great for a 23 litre batch. You can just take a keg at a time when needed. The leg from an old snowmobile suit keeps it cold for several hours.
    Small fire extinguisher wall mount holds the soda stream tank quite well.

    I appreciate that last tip of drinking right out of it!! 😅 I just tested my set up. I have 2 batches of the same beer going. 2 weeks apart. So when the first batch finished I bottled into these, chilled them down for a day, then carbonated with the off gas from the second batch. worked like a charm. I also used the off gas to push some beer for tasting. 😂

      Good idea for a video. Personally I would rinse it well every time it's empty and then soak it with warm water and pbw for an hour. Hook up co2 and run the pbw solution through the beer line and let it soak as well. Then rinse well and push some clean water through the beverage line. Cheers

    hi can you fermentate in the bottle with sugar to make it bottle conditioned and if you can is it best to use the taping head or the normal top and then put the taping head on after conditoning (sorry i am new to all this sorry if i have butchered the names lol)

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  2 місяці тому +2

      Hi, you definitely could. I would probably just use the black cap it comes with since I think the tapping head might release some of the co2 if the pressure gets to high. Cheers

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  Рік тому

      I don't see why you couldn't. I usually ferment at around 15-20psi. You might want to use a floating dip tube instead of the tubing and filter they include though it might be tricky finding one that fits in the opening. Cheers

    My kit just arrived, and I am currently testing it out. However, I have a question: Is it safe to place the SodaStream tank in my fridge? Additionally, I've observed a small leak in the pressure release valve. Consequently, if I lay the tank on its side, some of the cider seems to leak out. Is it normal?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  7 місяців тому +2

      Hi, you can place the sodastream tank in your fridge but it is recommended to keep it upright. The prv should not leak at all. I would recommend unhooking the co2 tank, purging the pressure in the keg and then unscrewing the prv. Then screw it back in. If it still leaks contact us via phone or contact page on our website. Cheers

    • @graintoglass

    It’s nice but I’ve lost confidence in kegland. I purchased their 1bbl kegmentor and had to return it twice because of horrible porosity in the welds and it’s make in China. I’ve seen som bad reviews on that mini regulator. What’s your experience with their mini regulator. I’m curious to learn more about its quality and if it’s also made in China. I would think kegland products would be made in Australia not China.

      Pretty sure everything Kegland makes is manufactured in China. We've sold many of the mini regulators and have had no issues. The quality is in line with the cost IMO.

    How much luck have people had serving it laying down in the regular fridge? It tends to roll all over the fridge unless you make little feet / doorstops for them. I also felt I needed to remove the pressure release valve and replace it with just a soda bottle cap as that can leak when the top is filled since it is on its side.

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  Рік тому

      That's odd, it shouldn't leak. If it did then co2 would also escape. Maybe your prv was faulty?

      @@graintoglass thanks. Will play w/ it more. Unclear if there is greater pressure with liquid pushing against it that just the gas. Also, I was told not to store the CO2 tank on its side as you didn't want liquid CO2 flowing into the regulator. I always propped the tank up a little on an incline to prevent that.
