How do you like the Cape Cod Series? Let me know your thoughts! 👇
Enjoying it. Live in Alabama now, but grew up in the Cape. Really enjoyed your video fishing for stripers on your first day out on the inlet during what looked like an incoming tide. I realize it may be outside your wheelhouse, but you should try flyfishing for stripers on the flats while you're up there too - Lots of awesome spots, especially out of Chatham.
I absolutely loved this series! Great content!
So happy for you to have enjoyed your visit to our home!
I am from Louisiana but like to Fish different places too and catch different species. Love to catch Spanish and Mango's in Perdido Pass when I come to Bama Keep doing what you enjoy.
I summer near the Chesapeake Bay have been catching stripers for many many years.
Perfect cooking! Add a splash of lemon! Dude! That's IT
I grew up on the canal. Me and my high school buddies walked across the railroad bridge when it was down. Trains crossed 2 times a day, we knew when and walk/run across (totally illegal), got chased off a couple of times. Cape Code is awesome.
The Cape cod series has been excellent. Love the content, keep up the great work. Really cool to see you fishing with Matt and John again.
Wow, I'm shocked that the locals gave you honest advice. Ha ha. The ten count has always been my method. I can tell by the first lure what bait shop you went to. The Savage eel is also a great canal lure and so is a Sebile magic swimmer in bone.I wish I could've met up with you while you're here. I love this series for obvious reasons and I feel bad for John because of his allergies. Awesome video series!
Use fresh cut mackerel
cape cod native here .. been fishing canal for 20+ years.. no snakes but you will see some minks aka ferrets. there friendly and amazing to watch theyll jump right in canal and snag mackeral . they were realeased there years to to help kill off the rat population and theyve done a great job ... sometimes see a random deer other than that sometime a few whales and east end tuna ...
Excellent video, there's nothing quite like fresh striper. I live in Orleans on Cape Cod for the past 13 years. I've been to the canal many many times. I'm glad you liked Cape Cod 👍☮️🇺🇲
This series is just phenomenal. Congrats on checking off so many boxes in a single trip, that's no easy task!
Man, you are bringing back memories for me. Fished right where u were in 2005. I know how it feels to hook up on the big ones. It’s a blast!!! Thanks man. You all be safe on your return trip!!
Stripers are definitely a very tasty fish. Love the fight out of them too. Glad you guys are doing well in Massachusetts. Tight lines dude!
Video just does not do these rocks justice. They were no joke! Day 3 = 3rd epic video to an awesome series. I cheese out so much watching these and re-living the moments.
Really was such an amazing trip! And still haven’t even posted the craziest video. Lol
Love this series and also the OBX series since I'm from NC. Thank you Bama, I have learned so much from your videos - just had my 75th BD and looking forward to tomorrow as much as ever! Surf fishing is my passion! Got my Bummy stick not long ago and can't wait to Christen it!!
Being it's all new to you guys I think the videos are special, I kind of wish I could have been there with you all.
Loving the Cape Cod series, thanks! Awesome catches. Great job! Ready for more!
I'm glad to see you catch a stud striper. Chasing stripers is a passion of mine too. I fish behind a giant hydro dam and the current is strong which makes the 22-27 inch stripers feel much bigger. The land locked fish I'm after average about 10-12 pounds but a 15-18 is a true trophy. I can't even imagine how hard that 38 in fish fought.
Great series of videos Bummy. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Bama Beach Bum
BBB just a quickie to the Ninja guys. I got a couple of your rods. A Bummy Stick and just got a 12' Dagger K Series. I just took it out for 1st time yesterday here in Tx and was very happy with it. Pulled out a 9' Hammerhead and couple of big Redfish and Big uglies. Ive used the Bummy Stick awhile so I guessed the Dagger would be the same quality. Just to say nice tackle guys.
What a fish Matt, awesome! I'm really struck by how beautiful the area is and how clean/clear the water is.
We absolutely loved it.
What an awesome fish! I love the series; so fun to see the types of fish and different tactics and techniques of other areas. Keep it going!
Awesome Catch!!! That did look like so much fun! Thanks Matt for the video
This trip has been so wonderful. So Happy for You Brother. Keep up the Great work. Really enjoyed your trip!!!!!
Great travel videos! So jealous of the fisheries that you have been able to get to! Keep up the great work man!
Great series being a pro fisherman i did not expect anything less from you huge thumbs up mate
Great Video, Matt!! Excellent catch! Will add the location to my bucket list!! Thanks for sharing!! Stay Safe and Healthy!!
Great series! Fish the canal and all over the Cape weekly. You guys are doing in right!!
I"m loving this trip. Now I want to go to Cape Cod. Awesome video!
Man Matt, what a beautiful fish! Congrats on the PB. Love to see all of you fishing different locations, and putting out great content! Poor John has a bad deal, I would just eat some benadryl like chicklets, and try some of that fish!
Stryper “Rock Fish” best prepared with salt, pepper and Old Bay and smothered in mayo. Wrap in tin foil and cook at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Taste like blue crab if cooked correctly.
Yes!!! Victorious!!! Congrats dude!!! 😎👍
The Cape series is fantastic, love the stoke!!! Watching you guys walking the riprap with no korkers strapped on…I’ve been waiting someone to take hard digger! Fish On 🔥
Great video matt... you are really fun to watch... the canal is a whole different ballgame... you would love it at night during the fall run... right under the bridge is a great spot. Congrats!
Congrats on your striper that was one really nice fish that's going to be a hard PB to break but I know you're going to try feel bad for John that he can try what he catches as much as I like fish and seafood that would kill me your trip to Cape Cod has been quite the adventure can't wait to see what you do next👍👍
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Killer content! Love this series
Another great video Matt.
Safe journey home. Oh you might want to give Brant a call he has taken up storm chasing down in Pensacola. Said something about you joining him to ride shotgun. Lol. Both of you guys do so much for your viewers and I for one really enjoy y'alls videos. Tight lines Bama.
Lol
More like the storm was chasing Brant.....lol
Such an awesome video as usual, but my #1 new favorite thing about your channel is that if you watch with subtitles, it almost always says "good morning beach bumps" in the intro. Absolutely slays me. 😂
I really enjoyed this video. Very few striper catch and cooks on UA-cam.
Dude!!! That’s awesome!!! This is great content up there, can’t wait to see you back on the beach though. Stay bummy brother.
Excellent Striper Fishing & Cape Cod videos!
Congrats on the pb! Another great video!
Another great vid Matt!
Great series Matthew!
Outer Cape Cod here...its going off from the beach right now
The canal is always a challenge-- takes some time
Sending love from MA...come on back
Hear that Oriole at the end of the vid...thats when you know they are back and biting...listen for.the Orioles
Matt...Great video footage of some great fish and great cooking. A great way to cook striper is bronzing it. It is not a drastic as blackened but the texture and the flavor are better quick cooking it in a cast iron fry pan.
I've heard about the striper fishing in the canal and the rivers of Mass and RI. It used to be like that in NJ when I was growing up 50 years ago in the Delaware Bay and the Mullica River (Gravely Point was known for monster fish!).
Striper season on the OBX this past year was two weekends this spring with no fish under 18" nor between 22-27".
Congratulations Matt on all your ✔️. Great video as always.
Thanks!
Congrats on all your catches.
Great series....love the video! Most of my stripers come from the Chesapeake bay. They are delicious....foil tray on the grill, hickory chunk in the coals, butter and the lightest dusting of old bay. Now I am hungry!! 😋 Enjoy the cool weather!
Awesome video from Yankeeland 😂! A bluefish trip like that would be great whenever they have their big bluefish run. Courtneys attempt at a Boston accent was impressive 😂.
What beautiful bass! That resource has bounced back nicely. I like this content very much
You mean in the 90s? It's not doing so well anymore, it's way overfished.
Glad to see u doing new England series
I love to catch and eat stripe.. my favorite way to cook stripe is in a smoker, or in the stove or in the fryer, or on the grill or in the etc..lol love the video brother
Thank you!
I lived and fished on Cape Cod for many years and spent a lot of years fishing in the exact area when you were. Those were the days. Live in Vermont now on Lake Champlain.
I’ve been watching channel but didn’t subscribe. But now, you earned it, fishing on my turf. If you ever come back here another time and want to get on a boat, I’ll take you out.
I have really enjoyed this series. Those were some awesome fish. I've never used a swim bait to catch Stripper. Grew up using Cotton Cordell Red Fin. And a Bucktail. Really enjoyed all the content.
Thanks for watching!
Congrats there BumMeister! Love the series. Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone. What’s next? Alaska?
Glad I saw your personal best.
Awesome catch and video!
YES!!!!!! After years of trying, I get a first click thumbs up!…. Oh yeah, sick video too 😂😂
Lol nice work
Cape Cod series has been fun to watch, very enjoyable. Good job on the monster.
Next thing we will see instead of Bama Beach Bum will be Cape Cod Beach Bum.
Fish looked terrific.
Thanks for the videos
Where I lived in eastern NC we called them " Rock ".....and made Rock stew from them. Watching you clean that I suddenly got homesick....lol
Great series man.
Great Striper. Congratulations Matt!!
Great catch. Enjoy you enthusiasm. Keep it up.
Wow, those are nice big fish. When I watch people fish for stripers it always reminds me of snook fishin'. Looks like fun.
Nice fish Matt!! I’ve had the pleasure to fish the canal it is a great time.
Thanks!
Congratulations on the new PB.
Thank you!
Another cool video. Thanks man! What are you going to be able to cross off on your next Cape cod Day 4, or will we just have to wait and see? Anyway, thanks again and God bless!
It’s truly a grand finale! It’s crazy.
Outstanding!!
Another great striper trip Bama! You should be excited!
Fantastic video!! If The Bama Beach Bum puts his feet in the sand, soon he'll have fish in his hand...lots of fish 🐟. Stay bummy up there catching them drag pullers.
Awesome series!!! Good timing on hitting the canal because a little later in the year it turns into a zoo.
When the back dorsal fin comes up they’re ready to go. Welcome to New England buddy. 👍🏻🤘🏻🔥🎣💯
I’ll be at canal this weekend. Great videos
Born and bred in Ma. love that you came up to the cape and so much fun god bless you and yours. I love your videos, I also fish OBX pretty regularly. Thinking I may have to run down to the Bama coast to look you up and try my hand on your great beaches. All the Best
Another good video. I’ve been a subscriber for a bit now and live in Mass. Having recently bought a house on the Gulf coast, I found you while looking for surf casting tips. Hopefully I see ya out there sometime. Seems like we do the same kinds of fishing.
i live near cape cod and the fishing is awsome! i can literly just walk outside and cast a lure!
Bama Beach Bumb is taking over the north DID YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THAT BASS ???? HOLY FISH HUGE 🐟!!!!!!
Nice catch Matt!!
Thanks!
Awesome fish
Nice fishing there in the canal. Stripers are my favorite fish to target usually i release most of them. Friends and family that i hooked up with fresh filets keep asking me for more. I'm sure you get this too lol. The biggest ones hit closer to shore at night some right at my feet on the rocks on the jetty. I'm from Md but love Indian River Inlet Delaware.
Gorgeous fish!! Time to run down to NC for some big red drum?! Great video!
Congrats on your Cape Cod visit but may I suggest that you both invest in a pair of Korkers with spikes those rocks can be treacherous. Lemon pepper is great for striper enjoyed your video too
Our Stripper run just ended here on the Chattanooga River in GA. I only caught schoolies this year.
Striper ceviche is amazing literally look up a basic recipe and go for it. Limes lemons and cilantro. Good to go. Try it my friend. The fam will enjoy too.
We were catching hammers (up to 46 pounds) on topwaters until the other day in NJ. A 25 pounder to a 40 pounder is a different fish. The canal is pretty cool, but try RI, Montauk and NJ. That canal doesn't start firing up for a bit
But did you get any "CHOWDA" ??? LOL ... In the opening scene the color and clarity of the water was really something to see. So glad you and your friends and families were all able to make the trip. However, I will call into question the judgement of any man that would eat pizza over fresh fish. That just ain't right, lololol.
Didn’t get any chowda! Lol and he’s allergic to fish.
We lived in Mass when I was a little kid. There's a few pics around of my dad posing with massive stripers.
Butter, salt and pepper is all you need. It is my favorite fish of all. I do the same but on the smoker.
Wow!!! That is one of the species I miss hooking up in Virginia. A while back they had to be 22- 32 inch.
Great trip! You should do more “road trips”!
Nice catch! You should try the Striper with your fish taco and homemade salsa recipe.
Wow, you earned that one😊
Great job in my backyard
THE BUM RETURNS!!
Awesome video! Where did you guys stay at while u were up there?
Looks like your having a great trip
Nice catches
I have to admin, I'm a little jealous. LOL Great video!
Imagine catching those on the fly. I do every end of June in NB. They are awesome on the fly rod.
Thanks for sharing
I really need to hit the surf fishing ✌️🐶👫
Sounds fisherman make regarding the size of their fish:
Golly! = Big fish
Oh My Gosh = Even bigger fish!
Goaaahhh = Gigantic fish!
Nice striper! Guided and professionally fished tournaments for them for 20 years. Great eating too.
Thanks!
