Son of Batman is a 2014 American animated superhero film which is the 20th film of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies and the third film in the DC Animated Movie Universe.
Plot
At the headquarters of the League of Assassins, Ra's al Ghul grooms Damian Wayne, the young son of his daughter Talia and Batman, to succeed him. The League is ambushed by a group of assassins led by Slade Wilson, Ra's al Ghul's initial choice for successor before Damian's birth. Ra's is defeated and fatally injured by Slade, dying before he can heal his injuries with the Lazarus Pit. After the incident, Talia takes Damian to Gotham City to meet his father and remain in his care while she and the League deal with Slade. The aggressive, highly independent Damian objects and frequently disobeys his father's orders in an attempt to seek out Slade and avenge Ra's himself. After Nightwing accosts him for sneaking out and brutally attacking an associate of Slade, Batman berates Damian for his recklessness and willingness to kill. Batman then has Damian don the mantle of Robin to teach him discipline.
Slade, now calling himself Deathstroke, captures Talia as well as Dr. Kirk Langstrom, a scientist previously working with Ra's. Commissioner Gordon warns Batman about an abandoned stadium believed to house Deathstroke's men; after infiltrating the stadium, Batman and Damian attempt to question Langstrom, who initially refuses to leave as Deathstroke is holding his family hostage. When Damian becomes violently impatient and inadvertently alerts the enemy to their arrival, the group is confronted by a swarm of Man-Bats, which Langstrom explains is part of Deathstroke's plan to create superhuman flying assassins. While Nightwing works with Langstrom on an antidote for the Man-Bats, Batman and Damian set off to rescue Langstrom's family. Batman deduces that Talia has been abducted and Damian is relayed her location via a ransom video given to Langstrom's daughter.
Nightwing learns that Deathstroke is operating in an oil rig off the Scottish coast, and while Batman is distracted, Damian goes to the rig alone to rescue his mother. He finds Deathstroke and Talia in an underwater base with a swarm of Man-Bats and another Lazarus Pit, which Deathstroke intends to sell for profit. Deathstroke attempts to kill Damian, mortally wounding Talia as she shields her son from a gunshot. Batman arrives to assist and heals Talia in the Lazarus Pit, while Nightwing and Langstrom cure the Man-Bats.
After a brutal fight, Damian manages to defeat Deathstroke, but refuses to kill him because it is not what his father would do. The underwater base is destroyed when the Man-Bats, overwhelmed by sonar devices placed by Batman, break the glass elevator shaft and flood the base. Batman, Talia and Damian escape to safety, but the unconscious Deathstroke is left behind. Discussing what to do with Damian now that Deathstroke has been neutralized, Batman believes that Damian should stay with him and remain as Robin while Talia still wishes to recreate the League with Batman and Damian at her side. Talia relents and allows Damian to stay in Gotham with his father, but states her intention to return for him someday.
During the credits, the fight between Damian and Nightwing is shown.

They do that. Deathstroke is a "flash" kind of character where they make him strong enough only to be convenient to the plot.

He is also stronger and faster than the average person. Deathstroke claims that he is so smart because he uses 98% of his brain is based on a myth that people do not use their whole brain. Meaning that that claim is really just a false claim to make himself seem smarter.

Why it is whenever a hero or villain has an advantage in close quarters that their enemies always charge at them?
To show the power of hesitation. Winning or losing, if you hesitate for one second.. That may be the same second you die.
I keep forgetting why I hate DC/Marvel movies. Those ninjas could have killed all of them if they just picked one target each and fired at once. Wouldn't even have been hard. Damian, Talia, Al Ghul, all dead within a second or less. But nope. Despite setting up what should have been a logical Game Over for these characters we're gonna write and animate it going down in the stupidest fashion possible. There is no suspension of disbelief when even a ten old siting next to you sees this and goes "Why didn't they shoot the bad guys?" If only one guy had a gun, and the rest swords it would have been fine. If Al Ghul heard them and instantly grabbed and threw Damian over the edge it would have been fine. If one of them had suddenly cocked their head and then yelled get down and they all reacted without question, dodging the bullets it would have been fine. But no, that takes at least two braincells to do, and DC doesn't pay well enough for people with two braincells to want to work there. I hate how they set up a situation where no matter how skilled, powerful, or smart a character is, they should absolutely die, yet somehow they don't.
Example, being surrounding by guys with guns and the guys with guns for some reason don't mag dump you. Why? How? For what reason do you, as a writer, think this is acceptable? And I really hate "but its a kids movie" as an excuse. You're telling me you don't think kids movies can be just as good and well thought out as an adult movie? Fuck you. You're just lazy.

@DArtmanreignz when they were training, they made Nightwing lose by Damien overpowering and making Nightwing flip backwards into a chair. Alsothey made Damien beat Deathstroke again even though Damien did something that shouldn't be able to make you still fight. He pulled his arm from the knife and used that arm to free his other arm from a sword and still fought against Deathstroke fine.

While Talia is accurate,Ras not so much.
He was actually extremely abusive to Damian and Damian suffered from trauma from that years after he met his father.
Ras would also force him to seriously hurt or not save people that he had started to have feelings towards.
In comics Damian initially respected Ras for sure but he didnt love him like he does here,in fact he very quickly showed he hated him for what he turned him into once he became Robin.
But Ras became sane in 2022 and they reconciled
They defiently made the al ghuls seem more like a family. Ra and Talia immediatly protect Damian when they realise they are being attacked and Ra was talking as if he plans to die someday and that Damian will take over.
Whoo Giancarlo Esposito was the perfect choice to voice Ra's Al Ghul!
This kind of fight really does just present that martial artists in comics follow anime logic, in which if you're skilled dedicated enough you're just flatout superhuman in speed/strength and durability. That's not inherently bad, but it's still there and means I can't see them as winning just because they're more skilled or something.

Film jedi do yes. Bookwise they've blocked bullets before. Also the difference between a high tier jedi and a low tier one is pretty extreme. Low tier jedi may struggle with one fast firing opponent, high enough tier jedi freeze them in place.
But still, that's blatantly superhuman speed.

We have seen in stories where he achieves his full potential that he exceeds DCs standards for peak human characteristics established for normal vigilante's and he goes into the low level superhuman condition,even matching Batman Beyonds suit strength which can lift tens of tons and is stated as having force far above that of Bruce.

Something that bugged me about Deathstroke in this film is how they made him look like an old man while simultaneously referring to Ras as such lmao. I know Slade does has white hair in the comics and most versions but here he looks like he has the gray hair of an old man, not somebody who got white hair at a younger age.

Yes, he can. The guy is a superhuman in all metric imaginable. Has trained canonically from many organizations including league of shadows. Matches batman in combat. Has mastered all sorts of weapons. Ra's is an old man who hasn't honed his skills for years. This movie does a shit job at showing how powerful deathstoke is.
