    I just finished splitting up my Costa Farms global green right before I watched this! I bought it on New Year's Day. It was very obviously a pot of rooted cuttings lol. I didn't understand the hype around it until I saw it in person, the green on green is really special!

      Lol yeah I can't say I'm surprised, I haven't unpotted mine, but I'm sure it's the same! And yes it's soooo much prettier in person!

    What’s so funny to me, is that when I was in college, I didn’t know anything about plants, but my cousin gave me a bunch of cuttings from her Pothos plants. I didn’t know what to do with them so she told me to put them in water. For the next few years, they literally lived in a pot filled with water!!! No food, no fertilizer, just plain old tap water that I’d add more to if it evaporated!!! 😂😂😂
    Now I know better, and my plants look much better, but it’s interesting that some of them can just live in water!!
    Your plants look great! Thank you for sharing!! 💜💚🪴

      Haha I feel like pothos could truly live in water forever! Honestly it would be an interesting experiment to see how long different plants could last in just water, and if it eventually has a negative effect on them!

      @@GetPlantyWithIt It really would!!! That’s part of my confusion with Leca though - I don’t really understand the water ratio part, I guess? I get it that the Leca absorbs the water and the roots are taking the water from the Leca balls, but then how much water do you leave in the pot, and why can’t you just leave the plant in water? Does that make sense?

    Have you ever used orchid plant food mist on hoyas?

    Good video! I had no idea that a big city like that would be lacking in box stores. I feel over saturated with them out in the west. I'm currently Vloging my Lowe's shopping, trying to get to ever Las Vegas store, there are 15 and I've got 3 to go. I don't drive so it's bus only... your better off without them LOL 💚😆😎

      That sounds so fun! Have you had any special Lowe's finds yet? I'm still holding out to find a sport variegated monstera one day, although I really doubt that will happen 😂

    I'm shocked 😂 Im a soil person I even propagate in soil. How do you decide which medium to use for your plants?

    • @GetPlantyWithIt
      @GetPlantyWithIt  2 роки тому +1

      Omg I've never been able to propagate anything other than cacti in soil! For props I usually use sphagnum or perlite, then I have most of my other plants in LECA unless they are really vocal!

  • @trewti

    95% of my plants are in my amended potting mix. The rest are in sphagnum. I usually propogate in water and have been experimenting with perlite...it's meh!

    i grow in soil only. i've tried growing in leca but i kill the plant every single time no matter what the plant is. I was just saying this today as I was walking thru watering my plants.

    • @GetPlantyWithIt
      @GetPlantyWithIt  2 роки тому

      Oh no! Have you tried water propping before you transfer to LECA? I've found that to be really helpful in helping the plants acclimate before the full transfer!

      @@GetPlantyWithIt some of them come to me rooted like from plant swaps. i had to switch a GORGEOUS pothos to soil even tho the previous owner had kept it in leca bc it was slowly dying. that same pothos is fine now
