Thank you for taking the time to make this video, it's very helpful. Good tip on using compressed air to blow out dirt before removing the spark plugs. It's these extra details which are good to include. 😀
same here, love the car and how it looks, but working on it makes me say never again to German car. Surprisingly, this isn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated
Thank you for this. This just happened to me before I started work and I have to be catch the bus to the store to buy the supplies and catch the bus back to my car (that’s located back at my work place) to work on it…after getting off a 12 hour shift.
Daniel Perez The spark plugs come pre-gapped. If you try to recap platinum spark plugs you will damage them the tip is very fragile. If you open one up in the gap is way off return it and get a new one.
Thank you for the information. I was wondering because I wanted to double check before installing them to make sure they were gapped correctly. Sometimes when the parts are shipped they can shake around and readjust the gap. Is it .040 or .043?
the wiring for the air sensor cleaner is missing on my car and so is the triangle cover on the boot, how important is it that I replace that wire because I bought the car used and it was already not there
I have some double platinum Bosch plugs.the back of the box only says 1,00 mm is that the gap size?? I ask since you said platinum plugs are already pre-gaped
Of all the most important things doesn’t mention the plug gap best I’ve found is .043 but also read 0.40 and .034 what I do know is each model of Jetta has a different gap
You are the man! TY! The Garage wanted 250.00 to do this! I will now do it for under 100.00! Im a poor divorced dad of two, so this really helps!

Good video. you took your time and it was easy to follow what to do. Amazingly it's a simple procedure on this normally not so simple vehicle.
Thank you writing! The hardest part was getting the air cleaner off. VW are crazy.

What kind of spark plugs did you use
Jurae Guillory most likely Bosch spark plugs.
How many Nm should I use when tightening the spark plugs?
Thank you! I’m doing my own shit not asking nobody to do shit for me
Thank you!!
I don't understand why you did not use anti-seize compound and then torque the plugs.
How many Nm should I use when tightening the spark plugs?
