Thats very cool. I was in attendance that night . He told a guy in the front of the crowd there that the guitar cost less than his hat, but if you want to play the blues, ya need a cheap guitar
Me too, saw them in 1997 in a little old storefront in Wilkes Barre Pa. They were a surprise stop looking for a place to play between Allman Brothers shows in the area. Been a huge fan ever since.
Warren you play with as much feeling and emotion as anyone I have ever seen in my 31 years of experiencing live music. Peace and love to you my friend!
I was right in front of Warren for this show, sat in on sound check too. Saw Mule many times but this was up there with my favorite. First time I’ve ever seen Warren break a string too.
First seen Warren Haynes with Dicky Betts and Great Southern in Boston late 70's Pattern Disruptive LP had came out. First seen Govt Mule in 94 I beleive. The 3 PIECE POWER TRIO- WARREN WOODY and MATT
👍 🎸 🎤 by Haynes as usual! Ironic in a good way, but I saw the title of the song and expected it to be a ‘cover’ of Foy Vance’s own, original same-named song (who’s music I’ve been listening to since 1st hearing him sing that one). Then I watched/listened to THIS and realized immediately it wasn’t, but I 💕 it anyway! In my 70ish yr old opinion this guy is extremely talented and can’t perform poorly - ever - by himself or with anyone else. 👏 Hope he comes to the NY metro area this year so I can cross him off my ‘bucket list’ of concerts to see live!
Warren, this is possibly mave favorite track from HLB, and we're loving it all over again. I hope this finds you healing well, as we're looking forward to seeing you in Asheville and on the road
I took my daughter to see The Mule about twenty years ago at First Ave. in Minneapolis, Allen Woody was on fire that nite, he was one of the most recognizable bass players with his hard driving style. Warren is always great as well, glad to see he is touring, hope he comes back to Minnesota!
Cover version, and a pretty spot on one for the Mule, of a Tom Waits song. Here's the original from a Letterman Show. ua-cam.com/video/NR5SHuJDlUQ/v-deo.html
W0W,W0W! Incredible vocals, & you shred those strings like you were born, w/ guitar in hand! I can recognize a True Legend, when I hear one, Sir!!! AND, you deserve every accolade there is, WHILE YOUR STILL ROCKING ON THIS SIDE!
I also want to add you are like Stevie Ray Vaughan Jimi Hendrix I instantly know who is about to play even though I cannot see the TV yeah you right up there there's no disguising your style I like you a lot
I was at this show, He told a story about that guitar being $129.00, He told a guy in the audience " this guitar cost less than your hat" If you buy the CD from this show from , that conversation got recorded and included on the CD. Very fun stuff
Could y'all book a show in Elmire NY. There is a venue within walking distance from me called the First Act Center. There are enough fans regionally to sell it out. Not sure what the occupancy is but looks like about 5k from outside. Parking garage 2 block is away. I'm the guy whom hollered for Litle light at Shays in Buffalo Phil and Co. The local economy could use the help. I haven't seen a concert since Phish at Superball. Thanks. J.
@@MrMojoRiiisin Yep, absolutely playing for the song. The last song of this show is Get Behind The Mule. The drums in that are even more simplistic and beautiful
I gave that guitar to Warren in the early 1990's. It's a modified mid-sixties Danelectro/Silvertone. Nice to see it's being used.
And used quite well I might add
Thats very cool. I was in attendance that night . He told a guy in the front of the crowd there that the guitar cost less than his hat, but if you want to play the blues, ya need a cheap guitar
Thanks 🙏 I was starting to go Young Sheldon 😂😂
When Mule covers you, you've been covered. Even Tom Waits.
Warren is a Gem either way no matter who he's playing with or where he's playing at ! One of the best vocals and guitarist I've ever seen.
I fell in love with this band the first time I heard them.

@@temporarysaint740 , I'm envious...
I would piss all over myself if I ever got the chance to see this dude
@@marycboone4450 , I would like to see them in a small venue. I'm not crazy about stadiums.

Here's a great example of why Warren and the Mule are 1 of the best bands on the planet! 🎶💪🏽🎙️
Excellent
The Great Warren Haynes sounding as good as ever.
Warren you play with as much feeling and emotion as anyone I have ever seen in my 31 years of experiencing live music. Peace and love to you my friend!
I think the best part is his smile at the end. 😊
The storm is coming...God speed.
Every time I hear the mule I reach in the corner and grab my favorite air guitar and play along

Great tune, great band!!! Get well quickly Warren.
Excellent performance of a great song written by the legendary Tom Waits.
Yaaaaaaahhh!!! Absolutely LOVE this bluesy stuff! Keep 'em comin' guys.😎🎸🎤🥁🎶🍄🐴🤘

I can’t believe it, they sound the same in live! What an amazing voice, I love this band so much! Hope I can see them in live too
Mule is my all time favorite band, and I love Tom Waits, so this is just beautiful!
That was my first non-festival Mule show. It was amazing.
Great song and great video. Thanks Govnt Mule

Me too IF he comes to NJ or NYC! Been waiting for the chance to see him live!
Long live The Mule.
Good too see his shoulder is better. After his fall. Can’t wait till he reschedules his show in GR
Nowadays one of the best bands if not THE BEST!! No doubts about It!!
Waits should be proud!
Tom Waits is notoriously hard to cover. These guys nailed it!
Love it!
So soulfully…..great tune and lyrics…luv you. Keeping going…
Tom loves it, so do I.
Sounds like a cross between blues and southern rock!
As a huge DMB, I always feel so lucky getting to see him guest with the band. Incredible guitarist who plays with true soul
So good, soulful
Tonight I have the gift to see them LIVE at Marquee Theatre Tempe, AZ, cannot freakin wait literally back chills await.
W0W,W0W! Incredible vocals, & you shred those strings like you were born, w/ guitar in hand!

Amazing
great cover! Warren + Tom Waits 🤯

Non è mai facile cimentarsi con il repertorio di Tom Waits, ma in questo caso il risultato è superlativo!
Wow, the best
Boa banda parabéns
When you are standing at the edge of the precipice you are not so much afraid that you will fall as you are that you might jump.
Holy shit was this in Bethlehem? At the stacks? I wish I could've made my way up from Ashevagas. Awesome!
Seeing them in Indianapolis tomorrow and have been able to Miracle to other deadheads should be a great night
Yeahhhh
Good stuff
Now its a good day. GOT MULE! :)
Anyone know what make and model guitar is Warren playing in this video? It sounds great!
The blues ain't nothing but a good man having a bad day LOL
Wonderful!!! (cowbell?)

I’d like to know myself but know one seems to know other than Warren saying it was an inexpensive guitar?
@@markwhite1039 he told the story about it being made from other parts, equated it to a johnny cssh song about a car built out if many parts.
Modified Danelectro .. guy who gave it to Warren commented
They played that at Blossom in Ohio Friday. One of the highlights of the set
Yeah......
smoking
Bad to the bone I'm 68 years old!!!
LOL 😆 - I’m just going on 70 and think the same! Regardless of what, or whom Haynes is playing with, he’s always 👍 in my book!

Hey Warren, what kind of guitar is that?
not convinced of the guitar... looks great but...
I think its sound suits the song well .. but agreed, it does look terrific too!
What kind is it ?
Guitar looks a bit like Johnny Ramone's trusty white Morisite😉👍
nice to see something different from Les Pauls and Strats
