Agree completely. He is a monster player, songwriter, singer, performer. His no nonsense , bring it to the folks, stage presence is one of his most appreciated performative attitudes. It's all business born out of love of the artform. Improvisational players will always be the most entertaining for me. Good players with good instincts do very well at this. Once in a while it doesn't go well but if you didn't have a little coal once in a while you would never get a diamond.
