That was the only thing I could think about at the end of watching "The Emperor's New Groove" as a reward to the Discord for the channel hitting 4,000 subscribers. They've had me doing Kronk impersonations for weeks now and I finally understand why.
Kronk is magnificent.

It is unapoligetically one of the funniest movies ever made. Which was strugglingly ripped from the corpse of a more historically significant musical. But, that movie had to keel over to birth this gem of a lovie that is a cult hit with, if I were to make a guess, most of the known universe XD

The reason this movie is so goofy is ironically because it was originally meant to be a really epic, dark story where Yzma revives a dead god to swallow the sun so that she can obtain eternal youth.. The movie went through such a shit fest oft blocks and Disney didn't want to make the movie anymore at all, so they literally recorded a ton of random bs voicelines without transcript and then they animated that and that's how we get the movie we now love lol.
I ended up watching the making of this like a month ago and was like, "Yeah, that all makes sense now."
Seriously? It pulls off Hope and Crosby buddy comedy so well
The actor who voiced the old guy who gets thrown out the window wasn’t the voice of Winnie the Pooh, the was actually the voice of Piglet. He voiced the character for almost 50 years until his death.
Yeah if you watch the video he actually put on the screen that he meant Piglet, so he already knew this....

It’s such a pleasure to see someone vibe so well with the humor of this cartoon.
Oh, not a word of praise for the great Eartha Kitt, who played Yzma???! Bear in mind that 90% of what we see of Kronk is supported and/or led by the magnificence of Ms. Kitt, who threw herself into this role and really seemed to have enjoyed the whole experience. Also, for people of my generation, the cat transformation was a terrific in-joke: in the 1960s "Batman" tv show, Kitt was the second actress to play Catwoman. Not only was this a rare, major supporting role for a woman of color, but the casting was, literally, purrrfect: ua-cam.com/video/hbrPMV5OCn8/v-deo.html.
Also, the fact when she said "Is that my voice? is *that my* voice?! Oh well." was unscripted but they had the mics hot. They decided to keep it.

The lever scene is the most famous of the movie. In France (I'm french), when she falls, Yzma shouts " Not this oooone !!!! "
I don't know if you noticed it but the cactus next to Yzma turns into a lama too and when she's chase by bees, the swarm takes the form of a shark.
Fun fact : in the french version, Kronk is voiced by the same guy than Simba.
I LOVE this movie! Here in Latam was one of the favourites! The Latin-Spanish version is sooooo good, and many people from here likes to quote the dialoges or use them as memes

@@pollyyander I mean, I love the Latin-Spanish because I grow up with it! I also think is funnier because some words, dialoges and jokes are differents, using things that are part of our culture. This apply to all the Disney movies hahshshs

I have watched the movie in English and Spanish (latin america version) and to me and my kids too, it is funnier in Spanish.
I'm brazilian and I assure you the brazilian portuguese version is also amazing!!

The fourth wall break part where he talks to himself narrating I always imagined that he began to change in his morals but there was still that small voice in his head who tried to keep the toxic thought process.

There was also a series that aired on the Disney channel called The Emperor’s New School. In it, Kuzco has to enroll in Kuzco Academy and pass a series of classes and courses in order to stay emperor. Yzma and Kronk disguise themselves as faculty members and do whatever they can to make Kuzco fail. Also, Kuzco isn’t allowed to live in his palace while attending school and ends up temporarily staying with Pacha.
This movie was originally going to be a musical titled "Kingdom of the Sun." As you can tell, they radically reworked it from that concept.

One of my favorite things about this movie is how much they break the fourth wall and make meta jokes. Goofy is an excellent word to describe this. Awesome reaction! ! I like that you included the discord chat (how fun!), but I will say that that audio was much louder for me than the movie audio, so I kept having to adjust my volume. Congrats on 4 (almost 5) k subs! The impressions were great and the art was really cool too! And it made me smile when I saw you drew the Pacha meme haha.

Little blink and you miss it moment given how good the animation is, when Yzma is knocking the broccoli together the cactus on the right hand side which she or Kronk poured their drink in (can't remember which) turned into a llama shape.

This movie is so fun. And I love the dub in my country (Brazil), so I'm a little biased towards it, but I love seeing people have fun with this.

Kronk is the best character in the entire movie
This movie has my favorite joke in it: when Yzma asks Kronk how they got to the palace first and Kronk pulls down the map and says “By all accounts it doesn’t make any sense.” Every time I watch this movie that joke makes me laugh so hard….which isn’t difficult because I am laughing through most of it. It is indeed a different type of Disney film, but I think that’s why it’s so loved by so many! Kronk is definitely my favorite character from the film.
I adore Community and enjoyed John Goodman’s character in it. I can’t think of a show or film with John Goodman in it that I’ve seen that I didn’t like. He’s just a good actor at whatever role he’s given.
I don’t remember where I heard or read it, but I believe Eartha Kitt, who voices Yzma in this film, favorite drink of choice was some kind if red wine. Keep in mind that might be false as I might be remembering something Pierce Hawthorne says about her since that character in Community does bring her up at various times (including repeatedly in the episode with the different timelines).
Have you seen the videos by Peter Hollens and another UA-cam singer of Goofy Movie songs and in real life? They worked together to produce videos for each other’s channels a few years ago. Peter Hollens’ video is a compilation of songs while the other guy’s video is a live recreation of the concert scenes. They’re both awesome videos. Yet another great Disney film! I have a friend who got the nickname “aunt possum” by one of her nieces after watching the movie because her parents (the niece’s grandparents) called my friend by the nickname Lester (her name is Leslie) and of course the opossum park’s main theme character is named Lester hence “aunt possum”. She fully embraced the nickname by her niece, though it certainly was a lot to explain to people unfamiliar with Goofy Movie.

This movie is the most "old Warner Bros cartoon" Disney film . The humor is meant to be absurdist as those old cartoons.
curiosity: in brazil, we love this movie, in fact, we like some of the forgotten Disney movies, such as Irmão Urso, mainly because of the dubbing, highlighting those of Kuzko (Selton Mello) and Kronk (Guilherme Briggs, who is also the Brazilian voice actor of Buzz Lightear, Superman, Optimus Prime, etc)
Im sad i missed this movie night ToT New Groove is just one of those films that I can watch whenever and it never gets tiring. Curse adulting!! Glad you loved the film!

In the original version of this movie named kingdom of the sun yzma was a villainous sorceress out to block earths view of the sun in order to restore her youth and gain immortality this was explained in her cut villain song snuff out the light
This movie is incredibly underrated. The humor is amazing, inspired by old Buster Newton stunts and old travel comedies.

One of the best references was that eartha kitt who played yzma, also played cat woman in the original batman show. So when yzma turned into an animal she was turned into a cat.
if you like the angular art in this, youll absolutely love atlantis. it goes even further with the square, blocky art direction and is also an unusual movie for disney (but one of my favourites)
That's why I was so confused why I've never seen this, because I saw Atlantis in theaters and it's still a top three Disney contender. And I've definitely seen pics of this and it was obvious that it was the Atlantis crew, but for some reason I just never watched it.
Legit though, if Lilo and Stitch wasn't as good as it was, Atlantis *would* be my number one Disney pick.
Would have been a perfect alternate Splash Mountain ride at Disneyland instead of Princess & the Frog. "The Emperor's Splash Mountain" I think lol.

Fun fact: The script of the movie wasn't submitted to Disney until 2 weeks after the movie entered Theaters. A guy from archives had to come down and ask for a final script and they didn't have one. They quickly slapped one together and submitted it right then and there. It was the movie's first and only draft. ( That is if you don't count the original concept for the movie, which was a lot different)

While most of the time a Llama will not bite someone, even in self defense.
They do have some crazy fang like teeth on the roof of their mouth and have a similar bite force to that of a human.
If bit by one it would leave some nasty damage.
In fact some males have been known to use their razor sharp teeth to castrate other male llamas that stray too close to the their herd.

Krunk is hands down the best thing about this movie. And Yzma is among my favorite villains. Also, think about why the angel said the devil doing a handstone was a good point. Hint: The devil has pants...and the angel is in a robe. =P

A small suggestion, try to make the volume of the film closer to your own volume so you are not screaming in my headphones if I want to also hear the film.

I never looked up the recipe for spinach puffs but I'd imagine it comprises of spinach, phyllo pastry and probably ricotta cheese with herbs and spices.

If you like the blocky style hands you might want to check out Disney's 'Atlantis: The Last Empire' which was done around the same time as this film. I've always been a fan of blocky hands and Atlantis is rich with it.
