Hero, you saw it coming ,no TOTP, Supersonic, Tube,., MTV doing reality shows. Reduced to Later hosted by Jools who doesn't like music being played in the wedding venue next to his mansion!
I went to see this at the cinema when it cam out. I am sure it was in 1975. I was 11. It left me realising just how bad the music scene was and feeling depressed that I had been too young for the music of ten years before. Fortunately punk was just round the corner...
me too, same age, it was 75,i remember tha cinema was packed and everyone screamed when the band names appeared & the glitter band got the biggest applause.
It was Punk music that to me was the Blight of the 70's music scene. We had the Glam Rock music from the early 70's (excluding GG) Then the Feel Good Disco music of the mid to late 70's. It was that Punk music that my brother blasted out from his room every night, filled with expletives, that spoilt an otherwise great musical decade.
