I am one of those who really appreciate appreciate the marketing Square is giving this game. Too often, we see so little of a game throughout its development that people often speculate if it is still being made. So for Square to do such a significant marketing push for 16 is excellent. And unlike, say... Ghostwire Tokyo, where the more I saw of that game, the less excited I became for it (I still played it on Gamepass and enjoyed it, but not as much as I was hoping) 16 I am becoming more and more hype for just due to what I'm seeing.
i have been a turn base guy all my live in gaming, but the recent change of direction from turn base to action from SE has been very decent imo. FF15 combat was actually fun, regardless of the mix review on the story, FF7R was a great success for bringing a hydrid mode between selecting commands and hack and slash, and from the look of this FF16 combat is going to be fun as well, so why not be more open minded about this?
@@wiziek You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. All those three takes are somewhat lacking and one of them is straight up wrong😂 Maybe you should take some water to wash down that salt you've got in your throat💀💯
Part of the fun of TB is that you can have a party. What I like about FF is the interaction the members of your party have and the following of their story. It was the group banter that made me love FF. But to each their own. Also, I'm busy with other games (Street Fighter 6). So, even with an open mind, FF16 is just not pulling that strongly to me. Maybe in a year or 2 when its on sale though.
This is mostly where I'm at - or where I'd like to be at least - in that I prefer something like a FF9 or X turn-based Dragon Quest style but given that's not on the table, I had fun with FF15 and even more fun with FF7 which was more party based than 15 (in terms of controlling the action). I really ended up liking FF7R a lot, actually. But the more of FF16 the more I'm worried this is going to be just too frantic for me to really appreciate. I'm still going to pick it up, but it's really too close to a Devil May Cry (a franchise I haven't enjoyed since the very first one) for my money (which I am aware that's the guy that did the combat - he wouldn't have been my choice, but I also love Dragon's Dogma so I'm trying to keep an open mind and hopefully I will end up really enjoying the combat). Everything else outside of combat from setting, art direction, and narrative all seem like something I will enjoy, so fingers crossed.

FF16 plays like old school adventure games where you move from stage to stage, once you finish a stage you are basically done, and need to replay it via 'replay' mode if you missed any items or wanted exp. It will replay the scenario exactly like it did before basically since each story chapter is a set route. Arcade mode is a 'score based' mode of that but you do not earn any exp or anything, it's meant for people to challenge themselves to compare scores. The only time you revisit a area, is when you do sidequests that requires that area, which sets up your scenario stage in that manner. In terms of stage mechanics, think of games like Dragon's Crown, you start from left of the map to the right, and you may enter the next scene to the next fight. You keep seeing elements of FF14 gameplay in a sense, with character animations, call backs to the reused story concepts (man in a robe speaking in a foreign ancient language like Ascians, but there's only one character instead of a faction). Mother crystals are reused again, the 'curse' and the 'blight' is basically the same idea in FF14 where no aether == BAD. All characters call the moon 'Metia' which is a Endwalker reference. All 1 handed swordsmans uses Gladiator combat animations. All dual wielding swordsmans uses Ninja combat animations. Dragoons using dragoon animations (lol). Spell casters are basically black mages. Ironblood soldiers wielding axes are 'marauders/warriors'. Outside of the indepth combat, the rest of the game is actually very very simplistic. Then again you play a DMC game for the combat and funny quotes and references and the story, but mainly because of the cool combat.

And Christ what is with yet another garbage protagonist?
I already bought 2 copies, one physical and one digital ☠️
Just did the same 🤣
i dont like that every moves in the battles are so flashy, aside from not being able to see anything, imo fancy and flashy effect should be reserved for some of the most powerful moves, indicating they are indeed, powerful, when everything is so flashy, it feels boring and dull real quick
Sometimes videos like this one are good because it confirm you will play a game at its launch. This one is even better for me because it confirm I don't have to waste my time on this one. I know most people are crazy about God of war, but even if its a good game its not the best for me personnally, so I don't think this game will really be for me! i better finish Final Fantasy 14,15 and the ff& remake that I never finished than playing this one!
Loved the demo. But if anyone knows if Torgal lives let me know. If Torgal dies nope. Not gonna do it
Imagine if this game had airships and it had ship combat like AC Odyssey??????????? Would have been a fantastic addition!!!!!!!
It looks great , hopfully sounds great and it will be a quality game, I am happy they are trying new things, already preordered so yeah playing zelda and then ffxvi, time to grt a rest from hectic multiplayer games
The fact FF15 was hyped the same way if not more and ppl still have hope just showes how less ppl learned.
Not even the same developer or engine.
Kinda of weird you didn’t mention anything about combat from Devil may cry considering the man behind it.
John Cantees voice like nails on a chalkboard
most important thing you should know is that if you don't enjoy devil may cry 3-5, you will not like FF16.
Good thing everyone likes DmC
this game isn't 1:1 devil may cry, some abilities have cooldown.
Considering DMC is my second favorite game series ever, I’m definitely going to like this game. Like, a lot..
Shames on the ones that don't enjoy DMC V ... Which is the best DMC game in the saga...FFXVI aims to be the best game of the saga 😏😏😏😏😌
This is only similar to DmC in a very superficial level. So actually is no it’s not a lot like it. It’s quite different.
two more weeks left.
Lowkey saying the older god of war games were better, and I agree lol
I wish a FF Game can have some The Lord Of The Rings + The Hobbit inspirations
Before you purchase.....
Me: Too late 🎉
What's the file size 😂
would be great to see random friends that you love died like on Games of Thrones
Glad it was inspired by the old school ACTUAL god of war games and not this new soap opera garbage they tried to put out

Im happy at the fact they took inspiration from game of thrones, BUT I hate the fact they made it because "its whats trending right now". Most bad decisions square has taken in their history was bacause they were following trends.
Game of the Year
Yay! The new bayonetta
I m the only breed who played all ffs but never watched single episode of Game of thrones 😞
Why call of duty 2 not seen yet and no updates about him.
Meh, I miss multiple characters and a party with tactical turn based rpg game play. FF to me just lost itself since these new action pushes...
That GoT inspiration bit is giving me pause.
The UI looks way too busy
Guessing traveling the world will be close to the way ffx did it?
Maybe FFxii which is fine because that map was still huge
Wait not open world? Because of hate on ff15? Ff15 is hands down one of the top 5 open world rpgs I have ever played. Just leave it to whiney crybabies to ruin a good game reputation
Not all games need to be open world. Assassins creed takin a step back too. Look at jedi survivor? I bet the next zelda walks back a bit also. It seems the huge open world games are going away a bit
I don't want massive open worlds, I want DENSE open worlds. Smaller worlds with a ton of fun stuff to do.
Im just gonna wait a few years for the eventual Royal, ultimate, super fantasy or whatever edition to release with all the DLC
There are no plans for DLC of any kind.
