- So in this video, I go over some things I wish I knew before I started delivering food. Hopefully, some of the things that I have learned in my time can help you guys avoid the same mistakes that I did. These tips should help you enhance your earnings and your experience with delivering food in the gig economy sector. Ride with me and Ron on a typical doordash delivery night. Your background music is fire what song is that?
Great tips! I would also add that you should set an amount minimum for what type of orders you're willing to accept. It sort of an extension of your tip keeping track of how much you make after expenses. Once you have that data, you'll know what's the minimum amount each order has to be in order for the numbers to make sense for you.
The Rideshare Guy 100% agree great tip I left out. I agree for me I use a mile to dollar ratio as it is the best for your car.
Learning the fast and slow restaurants takes time and can't be learned in the beginning. Then some change from slow to ok when they implement a system. McDonalds was slow when they started now that they have a system they are much better.
Andrew Hamilton I agree 100% a lot of my tips take some time to figure out.. multi apping , stacking orders, familiarizing yourself with your area. That being said these are some things to make a focal point when starting as far as restaurants changing in terms of efficiency it does happen I agree but not as frequently in my opinion
Have you considered the Stride app to track your miles and expenses for tax purposes?
When customers tip you in the app when & how do you find out?
Shane Luckett it will tell you once you complete that specific order.. it will say “base pay:$$$” and then “customer tip:$$$”
Dylan Owens oh ok nice!! I always tip well and wonder if they know lol. Plus I just signed up to do it but haven’t yet a lil nervous to do the first one. Haha. Thanks for the quick replay handsome. 😊

Jib Guy good advice noted
Have you tried Waze as a mapping app for doordash?
First Name Last Name have not I use Apple Maps how does waze perform
@@DylanOwens1 It is a distributed app which gathers traffic data dynamically from users. It's brilliant.
First Name Last Name I’ll have to do more research on it... what kinda days does it collect
@@DylanOwens1 They are owned by Google. All they want is everything. But, the app works in delivering real time traffic information...
First Name Last Name I am aware they are owned by google but Apple maps deliveries real time traffic also what so special about waze
Customers can call you after the delivery is complete?? I don’t like that idea.
lilly3am then it is important to keep in mind if you call or text a customer through the app then they will have the ability to text call you so just keep that in mind
Even if you don't text or call the customer, they can still contact you if they want. They have a text and call button in the customer app.
