Luca Blight is the only boss I ever said take the time and level up for. Because he does a lot of damage in a short time if you get unlucky with his 3 attacks per turn.
I kinda wish Luca escaped, only to have one more showdown in the end. Maybe its just me, but the game lost its greatest villian by killing him midgame.
Not having Luca escape meant Shu and The Player were serious about throwing everything they had at him. Besides, as a Xiang Yu-expy, Luca Blight couldn't have asked for a better death. He died proving to the world that he's a one-man army and a true beast of the battlefield. Also, how badass is it that in a world of runes, heroes, demigods, and mages--a single angry, hateful man with a sword outclassed most of them...if not all of them.
I’m not arguing that it was an awesome scene. It just seems like the game never had an antagonist like Luca Blight after this fight. The game kinda went downhill after this, that’s all.
@@MasterofConquest yeah, canapy defense only works if an enemy uses a magic attack on your entire team, since Luca only attacks a few of your teammates, it is better to use Protect Mist

i do not agree with the politics of suikoden at all. it wasnt the entire scarlet moon empire that was bad in the first game.. just kraze and maybe windy. they have us fight them over the inhumane consequences of the very necessary process of tax collection.. which while not helped by the corrupt elements of the empire embezzling for personal gain, is also not helped by the "liberation army" destroying imperial infrastructure which is costly to repair. if ted wanted to repay a life debt he would use the punishment rune, not the soul eater rune.. i dont trust the soul eater rune not to backfire due to being used against the purpose of its creation and thus i do not want to recruit ted in the beginning even if he is a friend.. the conquest rune and sovereign rune are also inverted.. a conqueror feigns subservience to a sovereign, not the other way around. the jowston alliance is also every bit as guilty as luca blight says it is.. and while i acknowledge some level of organization is necessary to sort things by category and thereby conveniently partake of their goods and services, i still have a bone to pick with hikusaak for trying to force that organization to reach a level of absolute consolidation under his control rather than that of the playable stars of destiny.
@@MasterofConquest if they're going to make such a big deal of the stars of destiny you need to be able to use them to write a better story than the current fate laid out by the true runes or the kingdoms that try to exploit said runes. as it stands the stars havent got much choice available to them but to either obey the runes entirely or damage the kingdoms and force them to do a worse job.
It is brought up a lot that the True Runes have minds of their own and influence their users. Free will plays a part but, True Runes lead their users down a path and frequently cross with other users as they are drawn to each other.

Your second team was too weak 😂 I always steam rolled Luca by using Flik with the two monsters (with water & lightning runes) and saving the other characters for the last two fights
Yeah, I was going for stalling there. I should have went with more power.
Luca Blight is such a troll.
He is a great villain.
If seed, culgan and jowy at his party we all died bro😂
Jowy watched the whole thing, it is assumed that Culgan and Seed were around. They wanted to get rid of Luca as much as Riou did.
Was having a great time playing this game ..and .... sigh 😟😟... within the first fight with Luca against fik....my emulator stops ..just after 2 rounds ....sigh ....😟
Ouch, I hope you got it working again.
Sometimes emulator stops in Luca's fight. I wonder because i bring someone with E compatibility magic (Viki, lol)
your flik's party is 90% same with mine, hahaha
I tried to make sure everyone had unite attack pairs and Earth rune plus healers. It just happened to work out where a lot of the characters for his team covered multiple of my requirements.
Riou shu miklotov, kiba, apple shin
Not sure what that is for, though a good group of people.
Lucca death was miserable
If you look at the entire fight, It took an army battle then 3 groups of people plus archers. He fought a battalion himself almost. I think the entire thing leading up to the end scene was done well.
lol I just defeated him without leveling the squads the last one who survived was riou I deathspelled him and got all exp on him he just leveled up 44 to 52 jeez
I facepalmed all the way through all fights thinking why am I wasting my time...he triplehit the shit outta me I was about to restart and just randomspelled him feelsgoodman
Luca Blight is the only boss I ever said take the time and level up for. Because he does a lot of damage in a short time if you get unlucky with his 3 attacks per turn.
That is a lot of experience. But it makes sense since you had to fight him with 3 teams.
I want a Suikoden 2 2: The Blight Revenge
I'd like a story on Luca Blight growing up, to see how he became as twisted as he is.
I kinda wish Luca escaped, only to have one more showdown in the end. Maybe its just me, but the game lost its greatest villian by killing him midgame.
Absoluto eh. Third act its not even close to this
I'm fine with the way the events happened.
I disagree. This is for me the most epic and memorable part of the game. Having him escape would ruin that.
I never beat him😓
He's tough, I just planned around him.
canapy defence? that was a stupid move, REVENGE EARTH the front row
I did it to prevent his aoe fire attack. Especially if he decided to do it multiple times, since he attacks 3 times per round.
@@MasterofConquest yeah, canapy defense only works if an enemy uses a magic attack on your entire team, since Luca only attacks a few of your teammates, it is better to use Protect Mist
He has a level 4 Rage rune spell (I forgot the name) that he can and does use during one of the fights.
I only know about 3 attacks
normal attack on anyone in the front (best to revenge earth all three )
Fire attack on middle colomn ( use protect mist, it has a chance of activating)
and Fire attack on front Row ( protect mist has a chance of activating )
I never saw him use a fire attack on the entire 6 man team
He has one where 3 dragon heads comes out and attacks the party. It swirls around him then around the party. It is rare, I've only seen it around 20 times in the 100+ times I've played the game.
i do not agree with the politics of suikoden at all. it wasnt the entire scarlet moon empire that was bad in the first game.. just kraze and maybe windy. they have us fight them over the inhumane consequences of the very necessary process of tax collection.. which while not helped by the corrupt elements of the empire embezzling for personal gain, is also not helped by the "liberation army" destroying imperial infrastructure which is costly to repair.
if ted wanted to repay a life debt he would use the punishment rune, not the soul eater rune.. i dont trust the soul eater rune not to backfire due to being used against the purpose of its creation and thus i do not want to recruit ted in the beginning even if he is a friend..
the conquest rune and sovereign rune are also inverted.. a conqueror feigns subservience to a sovereign, not the other way around.
the jowston alliance is also every bit as guilty as luca blight says it is..
and while i acknowledge some level of organization is necessary to sort things by category and thereby conveniently partake of their goods and services, i still have a bone to pick with hikusaak for trying to force that organization to reach a level of absolute consolidation under his control rather than that of the playable stars of destiny.
Punishment rune brings bad luck. Neither side is really righteous in any Suikoden, it is more of a lesser of two evils thing.
