In Arkansas where I’m from, there used to be a height requirement for the state troopers there. So you’ll see all of the older ones are well over 6 ft y’all and they’re still not one to mess with.
No, you’re correct, becoming a state trooper is incredibly difficult. I’ve only ever had issues with sheriff’s. But I get it, you’re not dealing with regular people all day.
I’ve called 911 when I’ve seen something immediately dangerous or someone vulnerable on the side of the highway. They take the information and ask the same questions they asked him. They get annoyed if you don’t have the info they want, but I’m doing my best eyewitness reporting while driving at 70 mph. There’s no reason to say you’re law enforcement except to feel big headed and to insinuate yourself into the case
The USB trick is one of the oldest tricks. Its common to just drop a few of them in the parking lot of tech companies hoping someone who works there plugs it in. There are cool USB devices , the USB Rubber Ducky for example which are made to be disguises as a USB stick, but they emulate a keyboard so you can put a script on it so the second you plug it in, it hits a ctrl-key for opening notepad, then can type any computer code into that notepad and save as a script, then run the script. All in a second. So simply plugging it in and not even having to LOOK at it, your computer is now compromised any way they wanted... from deleting all files, to hiding spyware and viruses, and with the power of the keyboard you can even DISABLE virus checking software with a few programmed keystrokes. So NEVER plugin a USB stick you are not sure of , it SHOULD be in your Security training program at your company to be honest :) It is in mine
There’s no way I’d ever plug an SD drive into my good computer. As mentioned, if I had an old computer, and I was laptop that I wasn’t using anymore, and had nothing valuable on it I might, but there’s not a chance in hell I plug a strange SD drive into my computer.
Here 6:41 in this point of the video the narrator said he called the Sheriff's Office dispatch on their non-emergency line reporting a possible intoxicated driver, but here 10:22 at this point of the video and 2 more times after the narrator mentioned he made the call on the 911 line which is the emergency phone number line.

1:36 State Troopers are given a reputation of being extremely strict and No Nonsense. I think it stems from their Academy that tries to emulate para-military training from the Marines. Some examples of this are Rhode Island State Police, and Mississippi Highway Patrol (Class 61 Video by WStrain)
Not an american but Id rather be pulled over by state troopers. They are professional and demand respect. There are similar things in southern europe. I wish we had them here.
What nonsense. No cop would have reported an incident that badly. There would have been a detailed description of the car without being prompted, including license plate, make, model, etc. They would not have said the person is "wicked drunk". No cop would do that, especially not a state trooper. This was suspicious from the beginning. What in the world? Dave was spot on about that.
On the topic of a Mystery USB delivered to me, Is it bad that I would ask one of my friends to look at it first? On an informed, volunteer basis, lmao. My initial thought was to give it straight over to the cops, but then you may never know. If my more tech savvy friend were able to safely check it, they could also break it to me gentler if it’s something weird/creepy. 😅 Even crowdsourcing social media, there’s likely people willing to do it to purely for the mystery. (Overthought this, thanks for coming to my TedTalk.)
We had a problem with somebody, making random calls, using a phone number changer. The cops caught them in about 7 hours. After each phone call, they had us punch in a series of numbers in our phone that did something with our phone company to track the source of it. The phone company can see through the software they said they can tell exactly where it’s coming from once we did that. The guy wasn’t calling from Florida or Kentucky or Arizona like the caller ID said, he was calling from about four blocks away from the hotel.
Unknown USB. Got one sitting right here - for months. Gonna fire up an old computer, open a different operating system on Virtual Machine (a "Sandbox") and then open it. Well, maybe...
To add to that, never plug into a random USB charger either for the same reason. If you do then at least use a power only USB cable or buy an adapter that stubs out the data lines.
Actually i been to NJ state police headquarters and we did events with boy scouts. Alot of them are ex military cause its hard to get to normal civilian life if you went to war or was in the service for so long
There is a device hackers know. 😁 Its called the USB killer. What it is, its a USB stick that has an electrical charge. When you plug it in to your computer, it sends an electric pulse that shorts out the motherboard and all components on it. Pretty much killing the computer... So yeah, never plug a USB stick into your computer if you have no idea where it came from.

State Troopers (here in Texas at least) are also known as "State Dicks" lmao so yeah I've heard some stories about them but I wouldn't say they have that bad of a rep over here at least not to me. I believe they're a lot better trained and generally more experienced and I know for a fact they help out areas when something major happens, like the Uvalde school shooting when the local police where incompetent and the DPS aka Troopers stepped in and were everywhere in the city following the event, at least when I was in the area in the weeks following, they also help out a lot at wrecks and understaffed police departments so I'd assume more action and experience and witnessing more accidents probably just makes them more nihilistic and strict after seeing so many deaths at wrecks. I speed everywhere all the time but I don't drive stupid and I have a really good radar detector which has allowed me to not even be pulled over in the last 6 years up until a couple months ago when I got pulled over twice in around 1 week for not having my front license plate on and both were State Troopers. The first one was super cool and conversational, then the next day I got really sick and it wasn't covid but it way worse it or anything else I ever had and a combination of different things all at once that lasted on and off for over a month and ruptured my eardrum which is still messed up so I couldn't care less about fixing my license plate and a week or so later/into the sickness I got pulled over by the second State Trooper who I could tell probably would've been an asshole but I was literally pulling into the hospital parking lot and told him what all was going on and gave him my whole ass folder of medical paperwork from the ER visit and he let me off and was cool lmao
