From understanding rhythmic subdivisions to grooving with popular chord patterns with Kevin Castro (Professional Pianist & Pianote Coach), each chapter of this video unveils a key element of musical timing. Just some advice to my fellow beginners to get started on polyrhythms: it can help to think in terms of the lowest common multiple. In the first example, instead of thinking of the left hand doing 2-beat measures and the right hand doing a 3-beat measures, think in terms of 6-beat measures. Then the left hand goes on 1 and 4, while the right f goes on 1, 3, and 5.
Ok. I’m a newbie … where’s the 2?
@@daxter7913nothing happens on the 2 I'm guessing
@@JamieV83 and 6 nothing happens.
1 - both
And- nothing
2- right
And- left
3- right
And- nothing
The 4 is the problem for most beginner
1 . Start with a slow tempo . 2 . Practice against a metronome or recording. 3. Best dividing for a more Accurate Rhythm Timing Performance. 4 . Practice Rhythm and Timing on different instruments . 5 . Learn to identify Different time Signatures.
The best piano lesson video ever. It’s so clear to learn, thank you so much 😊
We're so glad it was helpful!🤩
You just dropped some pure gold as to how to play the 3/2 there

Loved that last one - sounded like Chicago - Saturday in the Park.
The last polyrhythm example reminds me of Saturday in the Park by Chicago.
Count triplet like this: one-trip-let, two-trip-let, three-trip-let, four-trip-let
Your lesson is great! My favorite pattern is the last one.

You can do it!
Beautiful ❤️
와 너무 도움이 많이 되네요. 감사합니다👍👍👍
Thank you thus is a super good explanation
That was fantastic. I like the second one but I will try them all, eventually.
Great lesson, thanks! When noodling around I tend to find myself firmly stuck in the pop progression, so I'll definitely give the 3/2 poly a go now. I tend to count the pop progression as "1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2", which is probably 'wrong', I know I should count in "1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &" but somehow my brain clicked and it's hard to re-learn. Still, the end result is the same.
Super!
Amazimg lesson
sooo nice
Muchas gracias gran clase . Se sabe todo pero casi nadie aporta ritmos !!
Un abrazo grande
Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching!

Any time!
Thanx Sir it is awesome 👏👏👏

Hi there! Is saw that the ‘Piano Chords & Scales The Ultimate Guide’ is only available as pre-order. Any guesses on when it will be back in stock (days/months)? Thank you! 😊
It should be back in stock very soon within the next few weeks!
The polyrhythm was my favorite
That one is our fav as well!
Just curious what are those in your ears?
this is the same studio as Drumeo right? does anyone know what others channel their have? maybe vocal? guitar? or none?
Guitareo and Singeo!
@@PianoteOfficial Thankyou!
after 3 years of everyday practicing achieved 348 bpm both hands playing your first approach, but to be that fast is to hard(both hands playing) nowadays is around 290 bpm)
Now that is some serious speed!
And when there are two 8th notes together, why only play one note.
Unless I am playing at the same time and tempo, my hands stop.
I’m seriously considering selling my keyboard, all my music sheets, my courses, metronome and circle of fifths.
don't give up!! i just started a year ago and i can play lead sheets with confidence now im aiming to learn more with the rhythms now and it is challenging but Don't Give Up!! give yourself grace and patience and work on it little by little and your brain will adjust and you'll surprise yourself!!!
As adults it's sometimes very uncomfortable learning new things. Rythym is very hard for me too . Just keep chipping away even if its the basics and you will see progress. Things really clicked for me when I got to lessons using songs I really liked.
This was not too shabby at all. Please continue …
Ahem. Guitar fingerpicking. (:
