This looks really good on a bracelet and it totally changed the look. I'm happy to see a solar quartz, and more happy that it doesn't have the 24hr dial. Thanks for the review!
Baltany has been doing really great work lately. I LOVE the chocolate brown dial. The darker brown strap you put it on looks so much better. Reliability of solar, Baltany designs and for only (approx.) $150 how can you go wrong. Nice review of a nice watch, thank you.
The leather touches the case on both sides between the lugs and leaves marks on the leather. Too bad. I think you are right, a bracelet would look interesting and solve this prblem. Nice review, as always, thanks for that 👍👍👍
That's a common issue many of Baltany's cases. I have several of their watches, most of them suffer from the springbar holes being too far up on the lugs, causing many straps to scrape the case. Or not having a machined flat spot on the case to avoid scratching the strap's edges. I did notice the machined flat spots on the case (at 5:35 in the video). I would have thought that would avoid the scraping issue. Maybe the strap was marred before it was used on this watch? Still, I hope in the future they take into consideration not everyone uses the cheap junky straps they provide with their watches.
Like you say, it’s unusual for Baltany to have these QC issues and I completely agree the handset is really too small “on this thing”😉. That said it’s a great looking watch and I do like the dial colouring. Every one of your alternative strap options were better than the supplied one. I do wish Baltany would rethink this weakness in their lines.
Oh VERY cool. I always wanted a solar chronograph. I think the only other AliExpress solar chrono is the Tactical Frog Seiko Speedtimer Homage. And I’m not too sure about the finishing on that one. Whereas with a Baltany, you know you’re getting a quality piece. Thanks for the great review!
First solar by Tactical Frog came out of AliLand some years ago. Now this one. Let's hope next ones come faster... Be well Steve, thanks for the review mate. PS Hands are skinny...
@@stavros_katsopr thanks Stavros...I've actually been eyeing that TF solar..nice looking watch but something just isn't quite right with it and I don't know what it is. 🤷
I like this! It seems like a good value. But I have no use for a chrono and with 17 watches already in the collection, I just can't see pulling the trigger on this one. 😞 Great review. I appreciate your clear and direct style.
One small correction about the movement maker: Orient is owned by Epson. While the chrono pusher doesn't have a strong positive click like the mechaquartz movements, pure quartz chronos allow easy adjusting of the the sweep seconds hand and the minute counter hand if they are off kilter. Plu,s the tick of the minute counter in discrete steps is nice too. You still keep the look of the sweep seconds hand like a mechanical. In my book it's a good trade-off.
Good review 👍 . I think the movement is a good upgrade, no battery worries and it should be possible to adjust chronograph hand alignment too. The only thing that puts me off buying is the hour and minute hands, as you say they look thin, weedy and a fraction short.
I bought this popular video watch from amzwatch , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
In this case, we see a really beautiful and discreet design and a fairly good finish to the case. And also (don't laugh) excellent video quality, where you can see every hair on the arm. The author probably has a great video camera.
Excellent review of an ace watch that may well be my next purchase. I have never owned a solar powered watch, but in terms of size, function and style it should make a perfect general watch for me
Do you have any idea how long the battery would last having the chronograph "second hand" perpetually running? To me a watch always looks a little dead without the running second.
That's fantastic and i hope Baltany will use that movement in more offers. Great to see a chronograph without the useless 24-hour dial.
@@TheGrenadier97 well, the opson 3,6,9 sibdial layout STILL uses the 24 hr dial, so there goes that dream
Baltany definitely need to include bracelet options. The watch looks really great on it!
Right? I'm thinking a 3 link with maybe a more rounded link almost like a mix of Oyster and president would look great on this watch.

Press the chronograph start button while the crown is pulled out to align the seconds hand bro. The reset button should align
the minutes one...
I was thinking that, it's a big advantage of these chronographs over the mechaquartz 👍
@@dunderhay9169 every chronograph I've ever seen has that system alignment, cheap or expensive. I'm sure Mechaquartz are the same

Needs a rotating diver style bezel with a lumed 12hour scale.
Have it in bicompax format also and it'd be perfect.

Yeah they supply the same strap with almost everything, it seems

Awesome!! I have the original (I'm actually wearing it as I type this, coincidentally) but I may splurge for the solar version
I wish they used the other baltany chrono design. It's so much better loooking and has the same sub dial arrangement

"You're getting a... Mhieeuee n ok strap" 😂😂
The battery will last many years may be 25 years, that is the beauty of solar quartz.
that's very impressive...it's also swappable in the future.

A really nice watch to own... I would have got it if not for its poor luminosity performance. A pity.
Is dial listed as grey on AliExpress actually the brown dial in your review?
@@garydworshak5329 I guess so...not sure why they list it as gray..but that's the one 👍

10:27 Epson is not a subbrand of Orient. Orient is a subsidiary of Epson. :D
lol. thanks for the correction.
