I couldn’t agree more with you mate I think there a cracking bike. Like yourself I’ve the Voge 300 rally and I couldn’t be any happier with it.

The Voge that currently shares an engine with a BMW is the DS900X; the 650cc BMW you mentioned (which did also have a Loncin engine) was discontinued in 2017. However, the two engines are tuned differently, such that the Voge burns much more petrol.

Thanks for that. Loncin seem to make engines for lots of premium bikes. BMW, Kawasaki and others. They certainly know their stuff

old skool adventure bike, looks to be great value, that engine has been around for years in a few different bikes and has proven reliable

All these "cheaper" bikes look good, that is very rarely in question, it is the weight, power, torque and service intervals/parts availability that are the issues, not to mention the super low trade in values, great post Gilly

All valid points. But these bikes do allow people to buy brand new bikes that have never been abused at affordable prices. So you do save thousands to start with.

residual values as a percentage might be low but 50% of 6k is less than 25% of a 15k bike

I recently tried to trade my mint Sinnis 250 in, for a new MT03 and the dealer said he could not take it as a trade in as they would not be able to sell it in their showroom (True story)@@andyc750

Hi buddy.. my main concern with this bike is vibration, heard its terrible at 60 , 70 mph. I have seriously considered this bike ,but if it won't do motorway comfortably, like a trip to Scotland, from Nottingham then it's off the list. What's your honest view thanks 🤔

I didn’t have an issue with vibrations on the motorway. This performed well. My voge 300rally does have some serious vibrations after 60mph it’s like sitting on a vibration plate. But once I got use to that it’s actually quite nice. Like getting an arse massage on the move 😂

At 70mph it cruises comfortably, if you’re looking at motorway travel regularly, fit a 17 front cog and it’s sorted. At 65/68 mph it’s an absolute dream of a machine. And very economical. Remember it punches out 47 bhp, it ain’t a GS from Deutchland but if you’re not in any great rush, for the price it gives a great deal. I have a Yamahahaha World Raid and rarely ride it since I bought the VOGE 650.
The downside….residual value is not good…..people say you get nowt for ‘em when you sell, forgetting you paid very little to buy the things in the first place. I bought a “previously loved” model for peanuts, stole it in reality and am really pleased.
I can see me keeping the 650 for a few years and can assure you and everyone else, the engineering quality is equal to the Japanese.
They don’t all come with cast wheels, mine has spokes with …..wait for it…..tubeless tyres.
Fit a sports exhaust and they’re flat, all the low down torque disappears under 3000 rpm which is a pain in traffic. I did and put the oem back on…..so much better.
Try one…..spend wisely if you want real value for money.

Those panniers are exactly the same as my BMW GS aluminium boxes 😮

That’s what they remind me of. Very good but if kit. Even better because they are thrown in free for now.

@GillyBikes I've got it and you do not feel the weight even when pushing it around, you only feel it if you try pushing it on an up hill, it feels very well balanced
