Join Curator Connie Karol Burks as she carefully handles costume earrings, necklaces and brooches designed by Gabrielle Chanel.
Watch and listen as Connie examines the jewellery using a magnifying glass, picking out design features and colour schemes distinctive to the House of Chanel. Some of the pieces originally belonged to leading 1950s fashion model Anne Gunning, who would have paired these with accompanying CHANEL garments.
Close your eyes as you hear the delicate clink of chains and the soft snap of clasps, and imagine what the pieces would have felt like to wear.

Who at the V&A came up with this concept of mixing ASMR and descriptive educational content together? An absolute genius.
Yeah that person really needs a serious raise 🎉
It’s a team of people
@@Keybumpzsomeone had to had the original idea
Total genius!
I think it has more to do with Julie Rose Bower the creator!
the sound engineer of this series is a genius
Insane right
Why the hell do I hear a fan in the background then
@@zz_dont_die_zz4453I guess you have undiagnosed tinnitus
@@alessandroaverchi7067 you can clearly hear the Loud ass AC going on the background
@@zz_dont_die_zz4453bro they’re located in a city, filming next to windows, and are in a regular room, not a studio… ofc there’s background noise
i’m actually begging y’all to make these videos 30 min-1 hour…. this is the best series on youtube
Please give this girl her own show!
Her voice is like honey 🤤🥰
I particularity liked how the boxed necklace was gently tied down with paper ribbons. So lovely.❤
Heaven isn't it 🤤
@@vamuseum So heaven!😸
Should definitely make a dedicated asmr channel for historical information !! I love this concept & it’s so relaxing
I appreciate that they keep the ASMR mixed into their other videos because it brings awareness about the V&A museum. Museums have been struggling to stay afloat, so it's a good tactic!
@tanychef1950 you should check out The French Whisperer if you love ASMR history type content. His stuff is really good, very relaxing and full of interesting history facts
I can listen to Connie for hours. Please feature her in more ASMR videos. 💜
💯✨️
never clicked on anything so fast. This is what every ASMR video of my dreams sounds like.
♥️💯✨️
I could listen to her forever. Hopefully she gets featured again ❤
I love vintage costume jewelry. It’s got such a satisfying heft and attention to detail.
In addition to loving the topics, delivery and visuals, I absolutely love the inclusion of background noise like the distant sound of traffic
More from this wonderful, informative lady please. I could listen for hours. So relaxing and interesting. ❤
We want more! The sound quality of the jewellery moving & beads knocking against each other is so subtle and delightful. Well done on the quality of this recording. I'd watch every single item of Channel's creations get unwrapped, examined & explained if someone took the time!
Thank you for your work.
💯✨️
I am blown away by how good this is!
Same😄✨️♥️💯It's Brilliant.
I need this to be a full length television show!
best idea ever!
Lovely, peaceful video. Towards the end I just closed my eyes and listened. If she'd kept going I would have fallen asleep, lol!
the inclusion of the background traffic noise is GENIUS
As someone who loves jewelry, history/facts, and asmr this is AMAZING
This is the best museum asmr crossover yet. 😵💫
Please make an asmr video of someone walking around showing different items and reading their descriptions and explaining more about them. I once in a museum heard a woman talking to herself while seeing the exhibition, her voice was so relaxing but also got me interested on what she was saying
ASMR and Historical jewelry is something I DESPERATELY NEED!! Thank you :)
This is one of the best ASMR videos I’ve ever seen, gorgeous pieces, speaking voice and informative!
As a life long lover of all things Chanel...this is a true gem...pun intended x
Life’s too short to wear boring jewellery!
Beautiful jewellery , wonderful snapshot of a great era in fashion.
Some of the best asmr videos to bless our screens!
I second that 💯✨️
What a good mix of ASMR and a history lesson, it feels like I'm absorbing everything. 👍
The box with 20 bows holding the necklace. I have moved over 10 times, I have never packed anything so elegantly.
This is one of my favourite series on UA-cam - relaxing and informative 😍
I could listen all day, great content and super curator.
It’s such a brilliant pairing of the serene fun of going through jewelry and ASMR. Absolutely fabulous!
no pun intended but connie is a gem!!!! such a lovely voice
I love these videos SO much it's a chance to get up and close with gorgeous works of art AND a nice listening experience.
Would these pieces have been acknowledged to be costume jewelry at the time or were the fake jewels intended to fool? I don't know much about jewelry so maybe it's a dumb question. I find the use of the glass paste method really gorgeous I don't even understand how that one necklace was made with the tiny bits of intricately shaped glass all over the place, it is so easy to enter the gaudy territory but somehow it looks gorgeous.
Most people would probably have realized that they were costume, if only from the size of the ‘gems’. Most modern gemstones are also cut with facets so that they’ll catch the light, although if you look at pictures of medieval jewelry made with polished rather than faceted stones some of them have a similar finish to the pieces shown here. With semiprecious stones telling real from fake can get a little trickier. Glass is about a 5.5 on the Moh’s scale, much softer than stones like topaz, garnet, or amethyst, but harder than pearls, corals, or amber. Either way the paste jewels are gorgeous with the added advantage that they would have been worn and enjoyed and they wouldn’t have had to be locked in a vault for their own protection.
@@juliadagnall5816 Beautiful extra context, thank you so much! I didn't even think about the added bonus of being easily wearable to places you might not reasonably feel safe taking some jewelry worth probably 100x of times worth any random person on the streets entire income lol.
Well done V&A ASMR team! This is wonderful! I have been following the Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior garment observations and I am loving it all ! Kudos to Ms. Burks!
Easily one of the best ASMR videos I've ever seen
Stunning pieces with a wonderful presenter. Thank you. ❤
I love this ASMR series so much, fascinating topics and very easy relaxing to watch
Such beautiful, elegant jewellery but yet so fragile ❤
This is the best one yet 🫠🥰

Y’all really understood the assignment. A+
Love this idea!! So informative
Beautiful!!!
I love this! Please do more of these.
you guys are doing an amazing job in this channel, thank you for such a wonderful video
Overhead shots of the jewelry esp. the flower necklace would have been nice. Still, great presentation!

Lovely ASMR Video
Great video!
Wonderful! 🥰
Beautiful, so interesting
Lovely.
Very interesting!
ooh this is NIIIIICE
Immediately yes. ❤❤❤❤❤
Absolute bliss.
I have watched this video 5 or 6 times now.
It's perfection:
The subject matter
The content
The visuals - the gorgeous close-ups
The brilliant presenter - her knowledge, her voice
The unhurried pace of the narration
The sound quality
The information
The sumptuousness
The gloriousness
Every time I watch it, it makes me want to play with my own jewellery (sadly not Chanel...). Such a comforting and satisfying sensory experience.
More jewellery ASMR, please! ❤
More please!
So good
Would be grand to see the jewelry worn. Able to see how large the pieces were.
This is brilliant! I would suggest adjusting the sound in the future though. The spoken portions were too loud and I kept having to move the volume level up and down to hear all the details of the jewelry and unboxing, but then being “yelled at” when speaking began again. Perhaps, if you utilized more traditional ASMR vocal styles, such as whispering or soft spoken. Otherwise, it’s a cool idea for a museum to use ASMR for education.
i love this lady
Most of the late Gabrielle Chanel's gripoix costume jewelries are inspired from the art deco period.
Fell asleep
Only place where this is a compliment lol
I’d bet that the glass pearls were made in Czechoslovakia.
This is how Jennie falls asleep:))
❤
All hail the Baba Booey Gemstone !!!!
This is the strangest museum video concept I’ve seen, but it works
True.
So do you pay people for bringing these in or is it a donation
I’ve just found my new favorite thing ❤
I love this format! Please don’t ever add music! So distracting from the content!
🤤
Dark Screen for your eyes.
.😊
I need this type pf l300000 videos stat!
Very interesting but more microphones than a presidential press conference 😊
Gives an ASMR effect
That’s the point
@@parryyotter save the attitude

I love this video so relaxing and I loved learning about the jewelry. But at the risk of sounding rude, I must ask, why are these even important enough to be in any museum? They're not even precious stone's, they're cheap(for lack of better word), seemingly unimportant chanel jewelry? What's so special about this jewelry in particular?
Oh my. X
s that’s stainless steel if even
She can do a whisper though.
