You should really come to Portugal during the WRC Rally de Portugal, fom 30th May - 2nd June.
Go to Fafe, and then you'll realize how much we love cars.

    Portugal is a nice country.
At least what i have seen of it.
I actually was expecting Portugal to have a great car scene, because i know they have a huge motorcycle scene.
And those two tend to go together.
Where there is one, then the other is as well.
    Nice video though.

As a part-time Portuguese resident who's taken 3 different Ferraris (458, 488 Spider, F12) around Portugal on several road trips, I can give you a few tips for sports car driving in Portugal:
    - STAY OUT OF OUR TINY OLD TOWN ROADS :)
    - Arrábida national park, only 40km out of Lisbon- Amazing tiny roads
    - Parque do Gerês. Amazing roads and absolutely abandoned!
    - Try to stay off the highways when doing Porto to Lisbon. Amazing coastal roads - Example: Ericeira to Cascais (Crowded on weekends)
    - Local police is friendly. Only ones giving you trouble will be the BT on highways
    - Get yourself a Via Verde badge should you look into taking the higway
I have even more tips if you decide to continue your trip throughout the south of spain as well. Lisbon to Sevilla to Cádiz to Gibraltar and onto Malaga... But the spaniards are a bit more serious on the speed limits.

Welcome to Portugal, if the criteria is view Serra da Estrela in the summer, Portinho da Arrábida (where they shoot most of European car commercials), another route I like its starting from Cabo Roca, passing trough Sintra's natural park and finding my way to Estoril Circuit..

2012 drove about 1200 km through Portugal. The part that amused us (me and my now ex-wife) most was the B-roads that cross Serra da Estrela. We stopped at a hotel high in the mountains and could eat the famous Serra da Estrela cheese. Even though I felt in a WRC stage, the landscape was so astonishing that I had no desire whatsoever to speed things up.

There are a lot of great unknown public roads on the region known as "Alentejo". Tight roads, with only one lane for each way, but with great tarmac and lengthy straights, one after the others, with open space where you can see if some animal or another car is approaching the road. Can reach +200kmh easily on them for the less faint of heart.

You waste a quarter of the video talking about yourself instead of the subject. You then slag off people who drive these roads in order to enjoy the landscape, but then more or less do exactly the same thing, waxing lyrical about the view. What you did has nothing whatever to do with the Porsche. It is just a tool in order for you to enjoy the view, and unless the road is a race track and you were an idiot, it doesn't go much faster than an ordinary family car. I'm confused. Is this about driving beautiful roads, or something else? I'm glad you enjoyed the road, and the view, which are far more important than a gas guzzling car that is no better experience in this landscape than a scooter, a bicycle or a Fiat Panda.

Definately! Me and a friend went riding on the N222 on the same week you were there, and the N222 BEFORE the supposed best part, and the N322-3 after Pinhão. THESE WERE DELICIOUS!

There´s loads of amazing roads in Portugal to ride or drive...its a real motoring paradise....believe me, i´ve been enjoying them the last 30 (and some) years. You have many, but just to mention some of the (other) more emblematic (in no particular order): 1 - N2 (the portuguese Route 66 - From Chaves (N) to Faro (S)); 2 - The Sintra- Guincho - Cascais - Oeiras - Lisboa ("Marginal" N6); 3 - Arrábida (Setúbal) N379-1; 4 - Bombarral (N8 - a motorcycling heaven); and many others...
    Congrats on the video!

i'm Portuguese and yes, country roads in Portugal are amazing, try Serra Da Estrela. Mais algum português aqui? tenho a impressao de que quando ele disse que se ia encontrar com "car people" estava a falar da rasão automóvel

Sam, if you do go to Switzerland, I have a suggestion of one of those amazing driving roads. It is from Zürich to Interlaken via A8. Takes about 1 hr 36 min (119 km). Have a look on Google maps. The best part is towards the end but it is all super fun.
