Never mind the car itself, that 911HUL numberplate is iconic. Porche have put that plate on their press cars for years, it's featured on some Iconic posters and magazine covers, you should be proud to bare it Sam.
I don't know if you're aware Sam but 911 HUL is a classic Porsche number plate, they've been putting it on Turbos since at least the 80's. It's like an iconic plate for us slightly older petrol heads. Very cool.
Extremely well spotted 👍
There's probably only a few of us that are 'nerdy enough' or shall I say 'old enough' to know/spot that lol 😉👌
It's amazing that they're lending him the car for such a long drive, then giving him the 992 to try! Jealous is an understatement!
Yes knew that
What's the story behind that?
Didn't read you comment till after I've put mine!
The woman from the gas station just said how much she liked the Turbo. 😁
What a life Sam....what a life my friend! I admire people that have the guts to skip the 9-5 rat race and really live! Enjoy! All the best!
A lot of people here seem excited about "living the dream" with nice cars. Only few realize how lucky Sam is to have a woman in his life who supports this hobby - and to the extent, she goes on long trips like this.
Lucky bastard Sam! :)
Can't think of many women that would say no to an around the world trip in sports cars to be fair...
@@SuperKimjong You must know a lot of nice women with a lot of spare time on their hands then :)
Eh, not really. Most folks would drop anything to take this trip. And Sam's girl makes it an awkward deal by not really participating in the vids past a few odd comments. I agree that Sam is fortunate though; the 911 Turbo has nice hips that are hard to miss.
@hntr177 Those claims are completely unsubstantiated. You literally know nothing about her, so how do you know?. Status and lifestyle are secondary to sharing your life with nice people.
Also, I did not mean to cause a debate about this. It is a car channel anyways. :)
Sam's Starbucks Of The World tour continues 😉😂 That Turbo S is beautiful 👌
The first time we see Vicky was a close up of her arse getting out the car, lol. I bet she is thrilled 😆
Not even half a million on this channel!? This is one of the ABSOLUTE best car vlogs in existence. This is the single best 'trip' ever taken by way of car vloging.
I have to say that this series is the most polished and professional one that I have seen on UA-cam. The bar has been lifted for other creators to follow. Congrats Sam. Bloody marvellous! Helps that you rated New Zealand tops of course. Us Kiwis totally concur.. Cheers
So excited to watch your adventure through Europe and love the way you integrate photos and snaps into your videos 👍🏾
Can’t complain with that. Nice gift from Porsche !!
More daily vlogs pls Sam on the 2.0 drive the world
Agree, more driving videos too. I miss that. Guess I'm used to the youtuber roadtrips to Monaco, but still.
Noted
Seen Through Glass thanks keep up the good work
Looks like an awesome road trip man! I'm slightly jealous!
Such a great thing you’re doing, sharing your road trip around the world is so much fun. Awesome videos my friend and very happy for you living your dream! 👍🏻
Sweeeet ride.
Fantastic that Porsche is recognizing your content and affinity for the brand.
Safe and happy travels.
Absolutely loving this Porsche content. These are my dream cars.
I'm madly obsessed by the 992. i absolutely love that car. can't wait to see it.
Yes can’t wait for this content! Jealous you are driving through some of my favourite places in Europe! If you haven’t already driven passed there I recommend making a detour through the Picos de Europa in northern Spain! 🤙🏻
8:21 He's looking out for us guys
Loving drive the world so far!
I love a turbo s , enjoying the content mate
I subscribed to your channel because of this video. I’ve watched your videos occasionally for years but have never committed to that red button. Road tripping across Europe in a turbo s... that’s on my ambitious bucket list. Glad that I can live vicariously through you while you actually do it.
Porsche is hooking it up big time! So excited about this brand, might have to get one myself when the time is right!!
Yasss he’s back 👌🏼👌🏼
So impressed with the editing on this content!! I've not watched your channel for a while to be honest and came back because of the article on Life of Palos.. and totally gob smacked at how professional the content is.. really, really nice! Awesome Job! more people need to tune in, for sure!
Amazing content, Sam! Looking forward to every next episode of drive the world! Greetings from Denmark
Sam, you aren't skipping Sicily, are you? Driving the route of the famous Targa Florio long distance race!?!?!?! 😍😍😍
I wouldn´t have the balls to drive through Sicily with a Porsche. It´s chaos and people are crazy.
@@MagikkMaan Have you even been there? Sicilians are very chill and not crazy at all. If anything, Naples is way more "chaos" and a much more stressful environment to drive in.
Parts of the old track are in a very bad shape due to land slides south of Cerda. The hills are like muddy ground and time has done its job. I guess the mafia does not earn as well from the country roads as from the main motorways where there are quite a number forever roadworks.
ToxicSpiker Smh, I was there last summer. Have you even been there?
@@MagikkMaan lmao. i'm Italian, don't live there but i've been plenty of times. I've visited more than 60 countries... if you think Sicily is crazy you haven't seen shit.
Now that’s a sweet trek planned Sam. Very nice. Loving this series.
Porsche treating you well, nice to see such big brands supporting something like this, all seems to be coming together nicely, great content.
Samuel is a brilliant film maker 👏👏👏👏👏 well done Sammy
Your video editing is just on point!
Sam, you are on a roll!! Positive vibes coming your way
this is awesome! 3 awesome Porsches in 1 road trip! next up is the gt3 and gt2 rs
Waiting for you in Croatia! :D
Great content, loved the Asian rounds and looking forward to your discoveries on the euro stint - keep up the good work
I need to come back to finish watching, you have me hooked in :D
OMG, cruising Southern France with new Carrera S, that is the Dream. I am quite jealous. :) Looking forward to see all those videos. Nice work.
amazing vid again
Cracking video Sam, great travel vlog, more like this on drive the world would be great!
The cinematography is bang on. Chaos!
Excellent start to the Euro leg. Lovely 911 Porsche UK have loaned you. Hats off to them. Great mix of content too. However as a Porsche owner and new Porsche fan, you ought to get into WEC where Porsche are really strong. Also, lots more happens in endurance racing than F1, which is definitely stagnating. Totally appreciate Vicki not wanting to appear on screen but her being with you adds a nice dimension to the adventure, it would be interesting to hear her views on the places you visit.
A Porsche turbo always raises a smile...!!! 🚗💨😁🔝👍
Wow !!! Glad you liked Tours my Hometown.
What a life Sam! Also love the map and Sharpie bit, maybe we can see that again 👀
He needs to do the Indiana Jones map animations.
5:30 KEEP CUP!!! Absolutely love those things!
What a journey !! Dream Car Trip!
Good to see NZ represent in here! Some awesome roads here aye. I'm about to head off to the Coromandel tomorrow
I recognise that service station! LOL its the one with the ducks and a pond, Lav it!
Sam, Please do more of Lifestyle content. U travel to some really cool places, it would be great if we saw more of u thoughts, culture and other things about cities that u travel to. I luv the Service Station tours, but I hope there is more to Franc than that:)
Big fan of ur content in general Sam!
Sam’s gutters for the win 😁😂
I hope you're going through eastern europe. Awesome places and awesome views!
Awesome!!! Thanks Sam !!! Enjoy the Pays Basque !
Funny to see you drive that part of the Le Mans course in a Porsche 911, since I just watched the 1971 film Le Mans last week for the first time, starring Steve McQueen who also drove a Porsche 911 down that very road at the beginning of the film, if I'm not mistaken.
not quite sure why but this is the part of the trip I’ve been looking forward to most. Next few weeks should be good!
I reckon the euro leg is gonna be incredible. I'm so excited!
4:05 Was just waiting for him to fold the map back up to see the sharpie have bled through the paper making nice pinstriping on the Porsche 😂😂
I'm so behind on these so am catching up, but glad to see you managed to get to go on a bit of the track at Le Mans.. you have to pass through there on route to that side of France, it's the law for any Motorsport or car fan on your way through that part of France!
Have been looking forward to the European leg!
Me too should be great car content
great content sam your doing a great job
this is very unique cool epic content, im amazed !
this is what dreams are made off. thanks for sharing.
Sam, you are living the life that I wanna live...Your videos inspire me everyday to work towards my goals in life.
Awesome video as always Sam 👍🙂
Really looking forward to the European leg 🙂
Not that the rest hasn't been FANTASTIC! as it Has 🙂
New Zealand and Japan were unreal 🙂
Thank you so much for taking us along for the ride 🙂
And the Superb editing you're doing on these videos 🙂
Keep up the awesome work 🙂
All the best,
Mark 🙂
This trip is inspiring can’t wait to travel myself one day
Curious to hear you about the average consumption of this turbo on long trip like this, thanks!
If my experience in a 996 Turbo is anything to go by, it'll be low twenties
Really awesome stuff Sam ! your world tour is epic and has made me a big fan. If you end up in New York during your USA tour feel free to hit me up. I can arrange an enthusiast tour . We can caravan through the Taconic Parkway to historic Lime Rock race track. I also drove the same roads you most likely did in the North Islands of NZ . Coromandel, Roturua, etc...amazing drive indeed ! Cheers.
great video keep at it
Good to hear NZ was your favorite mate!
It's great from Porsche giving you the car to use, it's a bulls eye commercially wise, just enjoy it Sam (& Vicky).
She dis appear when opening the gate to your hotel!! Great stuff so far Sam.
Nice one Sam. We follow through the tour and hope to meet you later on in the summer.
Doing this section of the trip in 3 different 911's - that my idea of heaven in a road trip! Enjoy it Sam!
Hi Sam just so that you now, I absolutely love you Porsche videos and I enjoy them more than the other sport cars >>> Team Porsche
If you get time, visit the Autodromo Do Algarve between Lagos & Portimao - try get on the track ion that car ;-)
Are you coming to Norway? :)
I might be biased ;) but if you are to take a few days to do something in western Norway it would be amazing if you drive the Atlantic road, and even more so the valleys east of it. (Romsdal, Eikesdal, Sunndal).
The best "local tip" I can give, is that by far the best time to go there is in the middle of spring. In about 2 months time. (Last half of May or early June.) At that time the waterfalls are about double in both size and numbers, the valleys are green and the peaks white
Omg.. that intro tho.. Sam 👌🏽👌🏽
☘️☘️ was that a 911 hul plate I saw that old Porsche plate cool ☘️☘️
4:06 the clock in fast forward is so satisfying
Hello there! We missed you
How do you book the tunnel crossing in the wider carriage?
Hope it wasn't onboard the ship that sank the other day in the Bay of Biscay. It had 4 GT2RS onboard!
NZ for the win!
How's your 355 going Ian?
How do you get these different cars to drive in different countries. How and who do approach for it?? And are they sponsored or do you pay for them??
Sam, there are some great roads in the hills at the eastern end of the Algarve in Portugal. Drive them myself in 2017. You'll get some great shots up there if you get time. 👍
No way would you be stopping at Starbucks if you were chasing Coffee. Love the plan, turbo S, 992...then the lovely T. Well done.
Any plans on Canada? The interior of southern British Columbia has fantastic driving roads and the scenery is unbelievable!
That Turbo S is stunning
Love the vid Sam! But why does the intro music feel like it belongs in a Dude Perfect video
Hello Sam
Welcome to France!!!
Are you going up to the artic circle in Norway?
That route from Calais heading West looks absolutely 👌 Ibiza and Majorca Sam? Time for a spot of clubbing are we 🕺🏻 🎶.
the 'turbo' looks ace!
The route outline you drawn whilst on the Tunnel, looks like a Golum outline...Ha Ha
You'll love majorca
„The pagani fantasma evo was my favourite because you were‘nt there“ damn that was mean Sam haha 😂
Can’t believe your not going to Santiago de Compostella on the way to Porto 😑
Kudos on properly capturing Lava Orange on camera. Most UA-camrs screw up the color.
Love the car for first euro leg - Turbo S - tres bon
Dream car right there
Sam, when you arrive in Portugal, after Porto, on the way to Lisbon (Lx the abbreviation), passes through the epic restaurant, Oxalá in Ovar, in front of the marina (it is a river marina) 25 minutes from the city of Porto. Savor a dish called "Sinfonia Marítima" - it's a mix of grilled fish with vegetables and sweet potatoes. It's epic!
