Good old farmer ingenuity for solving problems as they come up. Our fearless leader shutting down oil and natural gas doubled the price in 1 year, remember he can't ride a bike or talk without 2nd grade notes keep going thanks!
I really enjoy watching the longer videos and getting to learn more about farming. Thanks to everyone at Larson Farms for taking the time to show and explain what it takes to farm in todays world.
To answer your question Chet....someone from the national weather service stopped out at my mom's after the memorial day storms that Saturday and called her later to confirm yes it was an F1 tornado...I want to say that was the start of the tornado that hit Forada, MN
I love it when you guys give us a knowledge dump. There's far, far more to farming then just hopping in a tractor and planting shit in the dirt, I love hearing all the knowledge behind it. I don't know it otherwise, I'm not a farmer, so please consider doing more
This is one of the major reason of watching the videos, watching you guys do and explain the technical side of the farm, what I understood out of what you and Doug were explaining was maximizing your yield not only for the profit of the farm but also feeding more people, all in all farming now is very high tech, so here is a tip of the hat to all you guys for what y'all do, now get at it!...
These videos of the “Banter” between the crew & “Chatter” between Dougo and Chet are really nice to see. It is not a staged communication, it’s the real deal of how farming can bring so many folks together.
Chet you and your Dad remind me of the relationship that my Dad and I had. I know that you cherish that. I know I did. We really love this channel. 👍👍👍❤️
Chet, to answer Dougo's question about who you call. Call your local National Weather Service office. They'll send people to come look at the damage and assess to determine what was. They'll also look at radar recordings at the time to see evidence as well.
Doug and Chet, the weather has been calling the winds this spring haboobs. It's basically a wind that blasts straight down then blows out anywhere from 80mph to 200mph winds. Like a blast out of an air hose. I live in a house built in 1912. We use a 3 step method during bad weather. 1) bend over 2) insert head between legs. 3) kiss your butt goodbye . With that. God bless
What hit your shop that night was a series of Microbursts & Downbursts... Made when two big storm fronts collide high up in the lower atmosphere... The pressure of the storms hitting one another shoves a Micro & Down burst of wind that can reach wind speeds of 130mph as it collides with land..... Those storms can blow one direction & you can go a mile away and the wind can blow the exact opposite direction
Dougo and Chet call the National Weather Service in Minneapolis or Sioux Falls SD as they have maps and track everything and can go back and look like they did with the Derecho that went through Iowa 2 years ago and followed it all the way to Illinois.
Don't worry, never to long of a video when good content is involved. I share farmer life with you. And ask duggo why when we old farmers grow longer nose hair and dont yank them out cause you will learn why real quick lol.
Chet you can pick your friends and pick your garden and pick your nose but you can’t pick your friends nose and that includes your dads hi from Melville Saskatchewan have a blessed day
Hey, We call the metal buildings in Florida sails as and afternoon storm will sail those builds somewhere else. Horizontal storage silos have you looked into them
Thanks Chet! No, your videos are never too long. You guys are so amazing and love how you all work together, great family and friends! Stay safe and healthy!
Hey Chet and Larson team, long time viewer here, not a farmer but I do happen to know a little bit about Tornadoes. the national weather service comes out after the fact to inspect the damage and based on the damage and certain characteristics that they observe such as how the trees look, they can determine if it was a Tornado and what ranking it was EF0-EF5. Hope this helps.
You need to do a video with Randy, and have him explain what he does. He's on the camera so seldom, and then only driving something, but then we find out he is the statistical mastermind. As a math guy, I think it would be interesting.
Great video, Please keep us posted on the crop growth. Chet, I truly enjoy all your videos and there content. Larson Farms is my number one go to farm video.
as a city person i love how you spend the time explaining the different issues and technicalities of farming its really interesting thanks for letting me enjoy your day to day life
I am glad you planted enough to cover your contracts. Let’s hope the yield will be good. Always something breaking on the farm, and plenty of maintenance to do on equipment. Thanks for the video
I just luv watching your videos because I learn so much. So cool even when the big Swede talks about fertilizer and the weed chemicals. Good luck and god bless
It may not be too late to weld 1.5x1.5x3/16 truss angles onto your Powerlift door truss like your Hydroswing door truss has on your cold storage building. The only thing you won’t be able to still do is put a pre-bow in the truss. For a door that size we would build it with about a 2.5” bow. The truss was about the only part of our (Hydroswing) door that we were able to patent back in the day before Rick (PowerLift) copied our door. Another suggestion for you is to build yourself what we called Hurricane Bolts. These were a bolt on accessory located on the inside of the door where the vertical upright tubes are welded to your truss, that would allow you to drop a 1.5” steel pin into a pre-drilled hole into your concrete floor. The quantity needed would be based off the size of the door and what wind load was needed for building code in hurricane prone costal states. For example FL. All doors that we shipped to FL had hurricane bolts along with larger vertical upright tube steel. Our Hydroswing door was the only aviation overhead door allowed in the city of Punta Corda FL because it was the only door that could withstand a hurricane. Sorry for the long comment but If your read this, DM me and I can point you to our supplier who we contracted to laser cut the cane bolt side plate parts for us in Wilmar. They may still have the drawings and be able to make you some. Wow that’s the most I’ve thought about Hydroswing since our jackass owner ran us in the ground. Love the channel!!
Absolutely loved this video. Great to see you and your dad being positive, despite the headaches this year has brought so far. Thanks for the update, Chet!
Maybe you are aware this video is from back in the first week of June. Chet’s videos this spring all have been behind date wise by about three weeks it seems to me.
Look the boss showed up. Toby how are you. Keep Chet working hard, less on the camera more in the fields. Nice on the door. Hey toby, keep em working, good to see you. Maybe the camera man can put you in his videos more.
I hope everything is better next year praying 🙏 for you and I watch you every time you make your videos 📹. Life stinks sometimes !!!!!! Lol Take care of yourselves . I'm 65 years old I was raised on a small dairy farm in Wisconsin and I worked on a ranch farm in Oregon. I know the ups and downs of farming.
Im prety much amaised at what responzability you have.you can call youself a management coorrdinator..that my friend is something that is quite unique .
Love the insights into all the precision stuff. We are not quite on your level yet, but we´re getting there. It continues to amaze me how much goes into it.
Thats why I watch to learn farming, makes me respect farmers more, its not just sticking seeds in the ground. Seeds have a depth, Water required, sunshine, and yes warm days to grow.
The relationship you have with your dad is something special! Loving the content
Happy Canada Day everybody! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I think Toby is a good dog and he is funny watching

At least he respects the constitution and hasn't led an insurrection, but yeah, you are correct that his oil policies are crap.
@@admranger , B.S., no respect for anything American! Traitor!

that flag idea is very interesting. with shortage of grain we need every acre of food we can. Thanks to God you have done so well.

I'm an I.T. guy but for some reason I've been finding learning about farming really interesting the last year or so.

Here in Nebraska we get down drafts, damage like tornado, but more straight line

I think Randy is the Farm Manager running the overall buisness side of the operation and making an overall strategic plan for success.
I’d love to see more on the business side of the farm. Maybe you can do that sometime this fall @LarsonFarms
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR STORY IT MEANS ALOT.

Dougo, you have done very well raising Chet, Eric and Brody to be farmers and make the future look bright.
Hey Chet, send some of that rain Welker Farms' way! They could use it.
Today is June 30th and here in Mahaska County Iowa we have some corn fields that are already shoulder High and quite a few that are waist high
Maybe you are aware this video is from back in the first week of June. Chet’s videos this spring all have been behind date wise by about three weeks it seems to me.
I realize that his videos are probably from back in June I was just stating the fact of what the corn look like here in Mahaska County
Call the National Weather service for your area. Probably in Minneapolis.mighr be in Duluth. Not sure exactly where you are.
Look the boss showed up. Toby how are you. Keep Chet working hard, less on the camera more in the fields. Nice on the door. Hey toby, keep em working, good to see you. Maybe the camera man can put you in his videos more.
