Larson Farms: The only channel on UA-cam where I hit the Thumbs Up button *before* I watch the video.
The look on Chet's face when the door handle broke was priceless!
Been there ! 😂
I am so far behind watching your videos.... but I am binge watching now.. and it took me at least ten minutes to stop laughing after Chet broke the door handle.. OMG that was priceless..
That look on your face when the handle broke.....too funny
I love watching you guy's.yal do a lot of work and have fun also 🥰
The door knob was funny. I almost soiled myself on that one I laughed so hard.
Nothing funny
Could not stop laughing when door handle came off and into your hand. The look you gave priceless! It happens! Great videos.
Dougos reactions are priceless. My favorite was still the man lift stuck in the floor drain
It’s so much fun just listening to Dougo and Chet talk to each other. 😂 They are hilarious. Cool video. 👍❤️
Off cam they my fuss at each but they come down and each is good at the end
The door knob was priceless
Merlin sounds like one mean ombre! I'm impressed that he still carries weight around there. That's called respect. Good on you Chet.
Merlins fine, he's been in other videos
That was what we would say about my grandpa when something broke on the farm. “Wait till grandpa sees that, your going to be in trouble “🤣
use a pallet puller...a L shaped hook and a long chain - pull em out
... reminds me ... Teamster's drive the trucks ... they don't un-load them too ...
And one more thing, for the hydraulic over head door, there is a heat tape (heat trace) you can buy at home depot or lowes you could wrap around and insulate the tank plug that tape in (its 120v) and keep the fluid warm. Just use ducting tin tape to hold it onto the resevoir
hillyard has alot of good brush
Chet appears to have reached his full potential. Only a raging Dougo with the strength to rip the steering wheel off a combine could pull the door handle off like that
That one was such a good one.
Put a magnetic block heater on that oil tank
Always so fun to Watch explaining everything y’all do never a dull moment keep the awesome videos coming
Glad to see Dougo got Merlin going again. I hate those hard to get spots, that is why I let the more agile young bucks do that job. Once again Chet awesome video. Catch you on the next one
Bend the end of the seal back and forth until it breaks. Do it everyday when i deliver loads.
Watching yall try and move those pallets made me laugh shaking my head haha
Glad to see you got a handle on things! You guys are awesome! Love your videos!
Awesome to see everyone working together and enjoying it!
Chet, look for a brush at a R V dealership. Long handle and soft bristles.
You want to get a hold of a Harper Brush dealer & purchase some of their wash brushes, They have been around forever & are awesome. I have used them for over 40 years.Harper also makes excellent brooms in many styles of bristles for sweeping of floors. You will not be disappointed with their products..
just hook a chain to the pallets and pull them out to the door. no issues then.
and with rgards the door hydraulics surely it's easier to just use a generator to run the door motor, a newer ford has enough electrical power to make it work complete with a standard electrical socket.. 7000watts should handle the door motor easily i would never hook a tractor to it with the dirty oil in a tractor hydraulic system. could also put in solar panel and a couple batteries to run the doors.
It's easier to take apart the shifter boot and plate to get to the fittings on top of the transmission
Dougo's wash bay is bigger than most guys' cold storage equipment sheds.
The struggle bus makes a quick stop at LF. When that door knob came off in your hand Chet, the only thing better than the look of absolute disbelief on your face was your immediate denial of being the one who broke it. I laughed as much at that as I did when Douggo asked how many LF employees does it take to remove the seal from the door of the chem truck. Keep up the good work and thanks for carrying us along. God bless!
You guys should look into an air greaser for the shop, so nice not having to change tubes all the time, they take I believe 25-30 gallon tubs of grease, looks like mini 55 gallon drums, but get a long grease gun hose so you can leave the grease drum in on spot and just drag the gun around
Thanks for another great video.
It was interesting and enjoyable.
Lots of jobs to do after harvest. All of you are busy busy with jobs to fix or repair something. Always busy you are. Lots of machinery to maintain.
That was a chore getting that semi unloaded of all the chemicals. Lots of weight there to deal with.
Dougo is glad Martin is back. Clean those floors.
When that door handle came off you looked so funny at it. Another repair job.
All for now. You all take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything Chet.
The Iowa Farm Boy.
As an owner of cargo in the trailer you are allowed to remove the security clip, drivers have a new security clip if there is more cargo in the trailer...
Truck stop in Sauk Center has a good selection of wash brushes
the little utility room is a great idea, the handle breaking off was the can opener
I'm surprised there isn't just a heated reservoir for the hydraulic fluid.
Hey man you need to wrap all the hyd. lines on that slow door with that mobile home electric wrap tape that you use to keep the pluming from freezing.
"Boars Hair" brush is supposed to be the best, non scratch. Draw back some of the brushes loose the hairs, not crimped properly?
Good thing it's winter so you can fix all the broken shit. Hope your arm heals up quick Big Sweede
BEST BRUSHES TO USE AND LAST IS SUREHOLD BRUSH AND POLES. USED ON BOATS MOSTLY
had a load of ams on an aluminum deck trailer. the floor was ridged and what a pain making the spin with floor jack was!!
At Hydroswing we recommend using transmission fluid or aviation fluid in our hydraulic pumps. We also offered a 12v. back up pump for power outages. Then you don’t have to be concerned about mixing tractor fluid.
Great job washing the trucks Chet and Brody
Hmmmm looks like you used my idea about airing up the trucks with an air compressor! Your welcome!
Chet, nice idea there at the end about building a small insulated room for that door pump, motor and fluid.
One small problem is the oil in the rest of the lines.
That oil will still be frezzing cocl and the second some hits that pump things will go downhill real fast.
You'd have to add in a heat exchanger to pre heat the oil before it gets to the pump.
Anyways, another really nice episode of Larson Farms on the Frozen Struggle Bus on a wonderful Minnesota snowy day.
We prefer our South Florida snow on a cone covered with raspberry syrup.
Use a heat trace cable to keep the hydraulics warm!
Harvest is the most fun time of the year for you, offseason is the funniest time of the year for me. 😂
As always informative and fun - thks
Hi Chet we put an electric magnet heater on our reservoir and that helped a lot😊
i always used a yellow sponge for the visors and chrome and than hit it with a hand mit
Get a magnet mount block heater for equipment and put that on your hydraulic tank, also insulate it.
high pressure water pump and the plumbing to handle it, some power-washer nozzles - and you can even DIY plumb it!
It's Christmas time and I've decided to sub, like, and such to channels I frequently watch. I dig what you do and I hope the few pennies of ad revenue I'm providing helps you and the family out. I still use an ad-blocker, but I digress... Merry Christmas!
The feed and farm store that I drive truck for one day a week had one of those manual jacks on my truck and on the truck that we use three or four days a week we had an electric one oh here lately they bought me an electric one too. I love it you guys are going to be doing much of that I would encourage you to invest in one it is so much easier on the feet the legs in the back
You could probably skip all the power washers for your under carrage wash but drilling another well and butting in the biggest wall pump you can find starting with like a 2 inch water line and keep reducing it tell its coming out of 3/16 inch holes at the wash head that would build some pressure but it would cost a fortune to get set up
Sometimes you can pull the shifter boot and reach those air lines.
very nice video. thank you guys
Great content Dougo and Chet and Larson crew👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
we used to just take the metal seals like was on the trailer door handle and take one side and bend it back and forth real fast and within about 30 seconds it will break in half just be careful it will get hot enough too burn your fingers where it breaks similar too how you can break off a piece of wire off the spool if you don’t have a wire cutter handy
Truck world Walcott Iowa you can order wash brush from there keep up the great work love the videos Chet
the wash brush.. i have only used a cheep house broom as it works well
Doug is my hero
Put a small magnet heater on the side of oil resivor.
Get a pallet grabber (Harbor Fright) and use a chain pull with fork truck and forget pallet jack 😂😊
Chet- look at ULINE model H-127. Might help with unloading trucks. That and a logging chain or yankum. I used to put a 4x4 at the back of the forks on the pallet jack as well. Those that know- know.
Magnifique camion et la neige
Chet - you can put lowvis hygaurd in your door , it’s a lighter oil then hygaurd but can be mixed and won’t harm your tractors if your using Deere oil , just spitballing here for you
@Larsonfarmsi sounds awesome!!!!
May want to put down camera down to use brush.i got a good brush with a 16 foot fiberglass telescoping pole at truck stop. The big truck stop in Walcott Iowa has on line store I believe. Truck will be much better with some Elbow grease.
Check a truck shop out for a heavy duty brush
Someone needs to publish a book of famous Dougo quotes.
Never used a brush on a semi, just a wash mit open the hood stand on the motor wash the roof and work your way down!
Good ol Super Ego Logistics.. thats what you get with a broker movin the freight. My drivers would of jumped right in and helped out. Sooner we get done the better for everyone! Need any truckin Chet give me a shout! 👍
We have done that with one power wash. But we hook are air compressor to it works great 10 foot wide.
Hi Guys. A water powered /driven rotary washing brush on a telescopic pole would make light work of that job Chet. I'm sure you would find one to buy in America. You can buy these sort of things in Australia. Keep up the good work, and God bless. Greg.
Chet, as winter rolls in you are the prince of farmers and the best story teller
you guys make work fun just amazing
Team Dougo!!
In the potato wash plants we use 220 electric water pumps to pressure wash taters. As long as you have enough water to feed the pump they are capable of high pressures with the right fittings. Could be a good solution to the underbody washing idea
Throw the hood when you wanna wash the visor and roof, stand on engine and you’ll be able to use a sponge instead of brush
Need to get a chained pallet puller. It’s designed for those stupid pallets that have to many board on the bottom.
Tip i learned as a yard driver for the little stamped steel trailer locks (thin guys). You just grab one end of the loop, pull down so it stretches everything tight, then use your free hand to grab that tab looking bit and wiggle the heck outta it, it will give out pretty quick. Same principle as removing the pop tabs from a soda can.
I use to break them by getting your fingers inside the loop then yank really hard. They do break but if your not carful, you can slice for fingers
Or take it swing the top the bracket swing it to the top of the seal pull handle out clear of the bottom bracket then yank the handle down hard pops them right off use to do 50 plus a night yarding
@@dennispalmer6007 i tried that a few times then went to the wiggle method. Also watched my coworker slice the dickens out of his hand once, luckily we had a roll of towels in his truck so it didn’t look like a murder😂
Driver is supposed to take seals of and document the number on the seal on the manigest if it's noy on there already and if so the load is at the correct drop off.
Taking a handle of a hammer and then sticking it in-between the loop works too
Put opening and closing relays on that door push button once walk away
I hope that fellow east of you guys gets a wash bay, its pleasing to the eye.
A tip for you. Get yourself a extendable paint roller handle and put that on your scrub brush. You will be able to do so much more from ground level.
Another fantastic video. Best you tube ever.. The way you all interact is fantastic and show a side that is genuine, friendly and respectful of each other and how everyone works together to make the farm and life run well. Inspiring people.
Of all the farm shows you guys rule when it comes to a wash bay and putting the shine on, Nice!
Chet seen u guys struggling with to dolly down or up the hopper trailer just giving a pointer what I use Milwaukee 1/2" drill with 1 1/2" socket works great PS put drill on low setting 👍 😀
Wrap heat tape around it and some insulation
Not saying we get as cold as you do. But here in North Idaho we had a car left that we worked on that sometimes was outside we always put a cat heater on it a magnetic one like to go on the bombing oil pan work great
You need to get a pallet puller clamp to pull the pallet to the rear of the trailer. So much easier.
Look into a spray bar that has wheels on it that plugs into where the spray nozzles go. They usually have two to four upward facing jets for washing under carriages.
For the salt/dirt/mud on the undercarriage, we always used high volume low pressure.
The shop I work at in Minnesota we have a truck wash with a under body wash that runs on one pump and does a great job
Hog Hair brushes work👌
Thanks for sharing your work, a far cry from summers 50 years ago on my Aunt’s farm in Indiana. Like night and day. Also you guys are a hoot. Thanks for the smiles.
Great video Chet Dougo and Big Swede also Brody
The foam keeps the detergents from drying out too quickly. There is no chemistry in the dry.
Great videos keep it up 👍
Common Larson Farms, you're the cleanest compared to the other UA-cam farmers......
Hey Chet that line that’s running to the top of the transmission is for the clutch. The air powers your actuator pins for when your shifting and splitting gears. You’ll see if you lay underneath the driver side in between the Frame and the clutch right at the top you’ll have a line on the side and then a line on the top. That’s what those are for.
Chet, that door handle: As my grandad said after he hit the wooden pole in the middle of the field, with the combine divider; 'metal fatigue' 😄
Dougo - as far back as the late 1960s when I was doing military service, we drove our convoy trucks over a bed of nozzles which sprayed pressured water on to the underside of the trucks to clean dirt etc away. The water nozzles were powered by a single (mains) electric pump, probably three-phase, but I have no idea what its other details were. Dirty water was sluiced away to nearby drains. Certainly doable in your present situation.
