Looks fantastic, love the extra width and the colour I am looking at this or black, are you happy with the colour ?, I notice the US regular Ranger model has a small window in the rear into the tray, this is a good idea, I would like to see ford bring out an extra cab Raptor, the 2.0 engine is because of taxes in Thailand, bigger displacement pays more, the thing I don't like is the aircon control area, looks very plain, but it's the same in XLT speedo area looks nice, congrats
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! That is Awesome Ford Ranger Raptor. My dream car and my Christmas wish. I wish Santa Clause will buy me one for my family to ride.
I can't believe they skimped on the aftermarket switches. Good review, glad y'all are enjoying the Ranger version! Glad keyless and push button start is an option. Should give auto start/stop a chance tho. It works great and really does save on fuel. Lastly, regarding the amber lights, it is mandated for wide vehicles here in the US, FORD just was clever and made it a great styling element..can spot a friend a long way away at night that way. Sadly overseas versions (even including f150 version) don't have them. Cost cutting I'm sure.
Nice vid Ty. I am so close to walking into a dealership to buy one, same as yours, in grey. I am just hesitating a little to see what Ford does next with them. As we all know, we are knocking on the door to 2019 and that will fly by and we will be looking at 2020, which I am assuming will bring about a whole different looking Ranger and then eventually Raptor. Not sure what to do, I want one now but I want to wait for the new model. What do you think?
Great Video mate, can't wait till mine arrives. Only a 6 week wait time here in QLD. I was not a fan of the 2lt engine at first but after taking it for a test drive I was sold!!
Great vid mate. I bought one of these yesterday. Can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow. Look forward to seeing how the future mods go. I am coming from a heavily modified Nissan Patrol setup for long range touring so I will be building up my Raptor as new accessories are released.
The engine is too small for such a beastly truck,in pickup trucks or large suvs there should only be v8 or big engines small engines do not match with their personality.
Yeah, I would advise against it. 37s on the F150 version requires a lot of cash to do properly, and you have much increased wear on components to boot.
Hey mate, how’s she 12 months on? I just bought mine today, pick her up in a couple days. Just wondering if there were any issues in the first 12 months? Cheers for the vid 👍🏽
Fuck Vw I’m getting one of these I live in uk so waiting for it to arrive, I see comments mention upgrades 2020 are they worth waiting for? This will be my first brand new vehicle
we've got these here in europe now, and in LatAm, went and drove one tossing up new Lux or this in europe, wanted the f150 raptor but its just way to huge for the UK roads. whats the 2.0l been like? any big issues
If ford were to make the f150 raptor, straight from the factory with rhd, it would sell soooo fast outside of europe, Britain being one of the big draws, with Australia and new zealand as well. To me the f15 raptor is the perfect truck, just wrong side of the road for the UK.
@@TyFenwick Yep. Clive sutton in the UK does a rhd conversion for the raptor, but it's done in the phillipines i think, and costs like £50,000 on top of the £80,000 raptors are going for in the UK. If ford did the exact same truck, just in rhd, and sold it for like £75,000 they's sell like hotcakes.
Hello, i bought one myself yesterday but since it will not be delievered before August and the salesmanager did not know, i ask you guys, is it possible to lift the back seats in a 60-40 mode to store more luggage but still allow one passenger to sit in the back row?
@@TyFenwick Hi, thank your very much for your response. Even though it is a bit disapointing, that Ford did not change the back seats in this 40-60 split mode i am very exited about driving this car in a few months!!
Thanks for the video and how do you find those tyres in the wet as I've spoken to someone and they said it was like driving on ice they are that slippery?
Berima Diesel chip take the output to 185Kw and 600Nm !! The landcruiser 4.5L V8 TT Diesel is 200Kw 650Nm, tune that little 2.0L up that high and it wont live to see the 5 year warranty, I have a 3.2 Ranger the engine is strong with good pulling power, I haven't driven the new 2.0 but it worries me about being so small, IMO Ford should have offered a class leading bigger capacity high performance engine to stick it up the competition and keep with the true Raptor branding, this is why it sells so well in the US, a 331Kw V6 TT engine is one big part of that, It's not like ford don't have access to decent engines, instead they offer a smaller engine suitable for the Asian market to keep in line with Thailand's taxes on bigger capacity engines, this has nothing to do with the Australian market, we want bigger capacity more powerful engines which are suitable for longer open road driving, Mercedes and VW have finally realised this, now offering V6 Diesels as options, According to all the reviews of the Raptor the engine is ok up to around 90kph, but ask it to overtake on the freeway and they all say it struggles, 0-100 times are disappointing, add a bit of weight in the back or towing anything decent and forget it,. __ Here is one of the more in depth non biased reviews, initially they were supporting ford's decision to downsize the engine before it was released, going off Ford's marketing blah blah but after driving it have come back with what everyone expected, great truck, mosty capable off road vehicle in AUS period but disappointing engine, such a shame at $75K plus ORC. practicalmotoring.com.au/car-reviews/2018-ford-ranger-raptor-review/
I just read that article. It gives the Raptor an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5? I’ve added the Berrimah Diesel DPChip to my Raptor, well worth it, little bit disappointing that the engine didn’t Output 185Kw and 600Nm straight from the factory.
Alot of i wish ford could put in this n that. I wish ford put in a bigger motor. Dealers always up sell their products. 6 month wait for up there in qld. here at my local dealer there are 2 laying around no one wants. Brakes all rusted up and all. Sounds like you work in a ford dealer. 85k not worth the price for a performance car that lack power. How can u call something performance when it took 10.5 sec to 100? If u only gonna drive ur kids to school through that little dirt road any more capable car can do it. One that can tow better or not so high that u wish it has a step ladder at that back. I dont want to waste time testing driving it because 10.5sec is a lot of time. Had and xlt 3.2 after i heard the raptor getting a 2 liter bi turbo i want for an lc200. The only reason it made more power is because of lots of boost. I think u want to leave it as is n dont chip it. U will only be blowing the turbos like that 3.2 did.
Its an "OFF ROAD" performance vehicle. Not sure where 10.5 sec to 100ks comes from, my Raptor certainly gets there a lot faster. The main benefit of the Raptor is the "OFF ROAD" ride quality, not its street drag race performance.
@@mclongkock6678 In Australia this is the Real Raptor...? Cant remember the last time I was out bush and thought, "geeze I need to be doing 100kph through this section of track in the next 10sec" I can count on more than 1 hand how many times I've wished for a smoother ride...BOOM, hello Raptor = OFF ROAD ride quality. I own a LC200 and a Ranger Raptor and I know what I would rather be taking out on the dirt for comfort. Sure the Ranger Raptor doesn't match the Power specs of the US F150 Raptor off the show room floor with 157Kw but with a bit of research the same model, same 2.0 bi turbo engine Raptor released in the Malaysian market is putting out 210Kw, this tells me that the engine is detuned purely to meet the Australian ADR, a simple ECU remap will give you a ton more power, still well under the $100K cost of a cruiser.
@@RoundTheFire detune? Its actually a tuned up version out of the ford transit. I doubt it can survive very long tune up to 210kw. If u under engine n boost power. For a small engine to make that much power u run alot of charged air and boosted air are hot. Heat will kill it. The suspension on it are not designed to go off road like in the traditional sense. Its more for fast dune and sand run. Not rock crawling and such. In the bush you never gonna go 100km doing what this ranger is designed for. U and i both know that in the Bush help is a long way away if u run into trouble. There for this is are car that doesn't really meet everyday need. That is why ford promote it to be a performance ute because performance is not a need it is a want. Problem is there isnt any performance in it. If u want a smoother ride off road. Go slower. Its safer and save u more fuel to reach ur destination where the next petrol station are hundreds of kms away. For 85k just for better comfort on rough roads?
James May failing to see it as a lemon. A lemon car will present it fault very quickly not after 8 weeks of owning it. My last ranger was fantastic and there 2nd biggest selling truck in AUS.
