I don't know about anyone else but my favourite part is when AK mentions his pretentious espresso and the rage behind the eyes that more cars don't cater for this. Great review!
As I had my Raptor serviced for a Transmission overheating issue in July 2022, Ford informed me that we should be prepared to service Transmissions from 60,000km, particularly if towing or near max loads for most uses In all my Raptor has been reasonable, I have had only 4 issues all covered by warranty 1) Fuel Pump burn out just before 10,000km - Plastic fuel line burnt slightly and bent over stopping fuel being pumped into engine - Fuel Pump replaced, - 21 Jan 2021 2) Coolant Pump issue - Dash light came on just prior to 42,000km - Coolant Pump replaced, - 06 Jun 2022 3) Transmission Overheating (46,000km)- on a return drive from Melbourne to Toowoomba during the hill sections of southern NSW, thermo bypass valve appeared sticky, transmission was slightly over filled- Transmission was serviced (replaced fluid) and tested, - 22 July 2022 4) Tail Shaft slip yoke (69,000km)- On a recent service the Ford Techs identified that the Tail slip yoke had excessive play (+/-3-5mm) in the slip joint near end of expected suspension range - replaced with new tail shaft unit, - 10 August 2023 (of Note newer Tail shaft design installed)
As the owner of both outgoing and next gen Ranger Raptors, Id get this one even in 2023, its an exceptional truck, makes more sense than the new one unless youre after an off road ripping machine with all the tech bells and whistles, The first gen is more fuel efficent, offers a much MUCH better ride comfort, seats are cushier, feels punchier when driving relaxed arround town, better build quality than the new one, oh and looks better too with those sexy fenders and narrow glasshouse, the new one resembles the base ranger too closely.
"Dropping nearly a hundred thousand dollars on a tough and rugged 4x4 dual cab Ute is not going to fill that enormous Gap in your personality" Couldn't have said it better.
I have a 2019 Ex Demo and have now clocked up 60,000ks. In the last 12 months I've had the timing case seal replaced twice under warranty and a seat bracket replaced as it was plastic and simply appeared on the floor one day. the Transmission can definitely be a bit dim-witted when cold but other than that, I love it. great review!!!
Just bought a blue 19 raptor 2 hours ago and this is the first video I watched , thanks for making me feel good about the purchase, love the content keep it up 👍
I’ve got a 2012 landcruiser 200 series, bought it new and it’s done 462,000kms. I’ve done multiple brake replacements, 2 sets of shocks and one set of injectors. It hasn’t skipped a beat and I wouldn’t trade it for all the ranger raptors in the world.
Good for you mate, I bought the new 2015 Gaylux 2.8, within 65,000 km I had 2 leaking water pumps, transmission computer died, Clunky, tail shaft, massive DPF issues, warped brakes that got replaced twice and electrical gremlins, Toyotas are shit!. Isuzu 4j is built like a brick shit house
@@shawsie5780 We have a fleet of Hilux, dmax and a few tritons at work(hundreds of vehicles)Our company literally drives them into the ground, owner wants half a million ks out of each car. They all have their common issues. 2015-17ish Hilux have dpf issues but stuff all else, dmax until 2019ish do turbos and body mounts like crazy, tritons crack exhaust manifolds and engine blocks weep coolant through the metal. From what I’ve seen the Hilux do seem to hold up better to harsh conditions and are always the oldest vehicles still running in the fleet.
18:02 I have a raptor here in France, I am a builder and very often where I travel to work is off road.. it’s been fantastic. The smaller towing capacity and load bed capacity haven’t been an issue. I can still tow a one ton digger for smaller jobs and all my tools fit in the back. Though I would like a better load bed solution. At the weekends it deals with motorway really well and off road exploring is amazing. So far no issue other than the odd squeak.
Loved this video, very informative; I recently got almost the same exact raptor from the video it’s 2018 and had 139,000 from when I financed it and I had the exact same questions and doubts before getting it but the raptor has been going great, the previous owner has serviced it consistently up to date/km and mostly used it as a daily commuter to head into town because she lived in a property an hour away and looked after it. As long as it’s been looked after and any issues that come up gets fixed it’s a good very capable and comfortable ute.
Have been waiting for this video! Got a 2020.25 Raptor and think this is a very fair review. My transmission failed at 26,000kms and was rebuilt under warranty without hesitation from Ford. Could not fault their customer service. Was given a new Wildtrak through Europcar while repair was carried out (3-4 weeks). Have had various other warranty claims honoured (fading exterior window rubber trims replaced, worn red leather on steering wheel - new steering wheel fitted etc) without any trouble at all. On road ride quality and refinement leaves all other dual cabs for dead which was one of the main deciders for me. Yes, that comes at the cost of payload and towing capacity but for me - no issue. Also yes, it is a little bit under powered but still offers reasonable economy. I rate it highly as an overall package for my requirements but will certainly be moving it on before the warranty expires!
I have just clocked 50k on mine. I also think it is a little underpowered, but because of this engine I was able to get such a car as a daily driver over here in Europe. A big turbo V6 or V8 petrol engine is just impossible to have over here with our fuel prices... So while that is a bit of a trade off, at least I can feel like a little kid again driving the monster truck I always adored!
Damn all that work and still all praises for the brand? That's some dedication and commitment to the company which is quite common the fans of ford and gm fans guess.
How did you find driving the wildrack vs the raptor? Im thinking about buying the raptor but maybe the wildtrack might last longer? Are you still planning on dropping your raptor after warranty? would you not recommend it as a keeper?
These remind me of the old ZD30 powered Patrols. You might get a good one that does over 300,000 km without an issue, or you get one that blows up before 50k. The build quality of the drivetrain is consistently inconsistent. I look after a fleet of Rangers where I work, and most of them don't have issues, but there are a few with oil leaks around the fuel pump, rear main oil seal leaks, failing EGR valves, DPF issues, and electrical gremlins.
How do u reckon they compare to the older 3.2 / 6 speed combo? I kinda like the idea of the 5 cylinder and might even actually be able to afford one - but have heard mixed reviews on them as well...
@@frankz5864 Oil pump is an issue but a well setup 3.2L is a beast & rivals the current 3L V6 diesel turbo Ford fitted a small turbo on them, a terrible oil pump, crap EGR Cooler, injectors that need replacing around 130k. Get a PX Ranger 3.2 at a price that covers the upgrades & it will smoke these crap 2.2 Twin turbo Rangers. The G300 turbo setup will make 180rwkw.
I have never been a bakkie fan. Came time I had to own one, this is indeed a good bakkie to own. Smooth ride on and off road. So comfortable.... I don't regret my choice 😊
I buy a new one 2022,and after 26000km no isues.Off road, towing boats, lots off high speed gravel roads and jumps....very fun and stiff 4x4... Ford raptor 10/10 ❤
As long as ppl who put it on their wishing list realize that this car is purely a toy or a weekend car; if u load up the tub to use it like a workhorse, then the performance will be wasted as the essence in this car is the FOX Racing Position-Sensitive shocks to keep up the smile and all sorts of excitement; otherwise better choose Wildtrack or XLT. Other than that, go for it if you can get the hang of how to drive a gravel rallyish car/truck.
Love the off-road capability of it. Comfy on the road. I’m keen to get the new one in a couple of years. I’m regards to fuel economy. I’m sitting it 9.6L since I got the car (25,000km in) with the odd lead foot now and then. So it is possible to get the figure low it’s just how you drive. My mate has one for 120,000km and not a single issue with it.
i know one maid whoe has second gearbox ,second engine , third injectors , and his RR have only 100.000 km . another had engne replace after 30.000 in my raptor everything was change , only fox susspension stay on his place . Newer again ford ,never.
Regarding the 2 litre motor - I’d rather the 2 litre motor over the V6. I’ve done the Canning Stock Route and will do it again soon enough. Man I did it in a short wheel base 84 shorty 40🤣🤣. This thing would be perfect with that diesel motor in remote Australia - just point it anywhere and it’ll do it with diesel available anywhere. At 80km/h when smashing over corrugations and bumps the car doesn’t care whether it’s a 4cyl or V6. Just my 2 cents🤘🤘
I’m currently looking at one with 122567 ks is in perfect condition no mods 1 owner full service history 2019-2020 plate $56700 prices have dropped from the extreme COVID rip offs all car yards were asking,I so appreciate the advice guys,I’m buying it👍😎 my dream Ute🤘🤑
I enjoy driving it. I added original Ford front parking sensors with a front camera. The whole System is sync3 functional and really makes the difference.
One time I stopped at a shopping centre, saw one of these & decided to chat to the owner who was still inside his vehicle. He said he bought it for 1 specific reason ONLY : to NOT worry about the crappy pothole ridden roads we have in south africa. Pretoria to be exact. He said he just drives straight along the road & the Raptor eats up all the potholes with ease. So for that reason, I would buy one.
Visiting this video for the first time a year on. Prices for vehicles in the 100,000 to 150,000km range are down $10k on the cheapest price you mentioned here. Used car prices are finally starting to go back to normality.
100k for a dual cab Ute is fcuking crazy! It’s a Ute It’s a bloody Ute mate It’s meant to work and go off road not drive over gutters and be the tuff truck in the Coles carpark with a wanker for a driver or most likely Mrs Wanker. The gearbox is terrible and that little diesel is working very hard even on a dual lane road let alone a steep track. There are better dual cabs for off road use but the Raptor is best at city cruising and showing off it’s pretty (but nearly useless for a load ) rear suspension. So if you own one I recommend ceramic coating that rear suspension to free you of having to polish the springs and clean of the diff dust every month. Cheers
hi, why do you need to do this and why? " So if you own one I recommend ceramic coating that rear suspension to free you of having to polish the springs and clean of the diff dust every month."
I just Bought one Farkin AWESOME I got an X for $62K with 58,000ks on it Great Condition It drives Great on the road and the Freeway Going hunting this weekend in some pretty rough terrain Let's see what happens Cheers
I've got a white X on its way on the truck, I paid a touch more than you with about 5k more k's, can't wait for it to turn up. How'd it go in the rough? I'm pretty interested in how it's going to handle rough dirt roads and the corrugations, I've seen enough videos to see the 4WD capabilities which seems to be okay if you're not setting out to try and destroy it :). I think before buying, not enough people consider the shitty road conditions before you even get to the destination where you need to chuck it in 4WD.
@@ebswift HeyThanks for the reply Just to give you an idea I also have a company car a Current model Isuzu MUX and in fairness it only has Highway tyres on it but you seriously just can't compare them I did a Few steep twisty climbs and descents in the X that I wouldn't even consider attempting in the MUX. I went to places that I hadn't been to before because of the versatility of the X - Corrugation is the biggest + I can actually drive at 110Ks+ across the top of it and it's just like you were on sealed road I was actually having chuckle to myself it was that good. In the MUX you would just bounce off it and into a paddock on the Side of the road trying to hang on😁 On the highways and freeways its also magic it is as smooth as and cruises really well. First big trip coming up in a month or so Can't wait 👍Hey something else I have heard and seen people commenting on the brakes being ordinary ? Mine stops really well so I don't know what they are on about I have a 2018 Mustang GT ok that stops the best by a mile after that the Raptor is the best followed by Ford Territory, Ford BA LTD, then the MUX then my old 73 mustang but she's getting an upgrade to Wilwoods Cheers
@@016cobra That's awesome, thanks for the detailed reply mate! Good to hear about the corrugations, I see so many video and written reviews that kind of brush over how good it is on corrugations etc., but I haven't seen that properly demonstrated aside from quick high speed offroad clips that do look impressive. Having a less capable vehicle for offroad means driving a lot slower and a rough ride, making for very long, uncomfortable trips that nobody will want to participate in. That will be a big selling point to my wife once she feels that difference - as it stands all I told her was I got a Ranger, not specifically which variant :D. I'll be setting it up for light overland stuff, so probably a hidden winch behind the stock bumper, a tub rack (already have a roller shutter on it), and aim for a lightweight rooftop tent to go on the rack. I've got an old '06 diesel BMW that is a blast for handling on-road, but got the itch again to go out exploring, there are some awesome local tracks up here on the CQ coast, as well as beach access.
While being back home in Thailand I was looking at quite a few to purchase but many were either mistreated or overly modified with aftermarket parts Eventually found a stock standard MUX which does the job I guess
The great thing about Raptor's is you can drive them up the right hand lane of freeway at about 5-10 kmh. below the speed limit with your 'phone stuck to your ear because you haven't figured out how to use Bluetooth, yet. Then, when someone passes you in the inside lane, doing the speed limit, you can flex the muscle of the mighty twin turbo engine and speed right past them before cutting them off as you finally move from the right lane to the left lane, just in the nick of time to make the exit ramp that leads you to your newly completed, but not yet paid for, West suburban abode. I shouldn't be so harsh. They're great for towing the jet ski that you still owe eight grand on and the dirt bike that you bought from your mate, cheap, but still haven't made a single payment on. And what better vehicle to tow your new ski boat, once the finance is approved.
I have a 2.0-litre bi-turbo. Yes very occasionally the gear changes do clunk, usually in low gears when climbing a steep hill, which is annoying. But I've never understood the 'hunting' for gears issue. I find it very smooth and more often than not I wouldn't have a clue what gear I'm in. I barely notice gear changes. Maybe I'm just lucky. 90,000kms and no issues yet...
Still waiting for Mazda6 review, specifically post 2018 with all auto cruise and safety features. I really appreciate if you test the cars auto cruise in traffic (of course if the feature is available). Thank you so much mate, UA-cam really needed a channel such as yours. You’ve got a real fan here that supports you as much as he can😊
What about mentioning the lawsuits the 10 speed Auto transmission in this had in the USA? I wouldn't buy one of these considering these issues, and that it's in the new Everest on sale too. Too much of a gamble on my eyes.
i think the older everests had problems with the 10 speed auto too...and they have been recognised and fixed overseas. We had a 2019 or 2018 one that had transmission problems under 80,000k.Ford NZ said they have never heard of any problems regarding the transmission but would fix it with free parts. But labor would be charged. We have sold more than 40 rangers and raptors (25 brand spanking new ones) and I prefer the 3.2 litre ones.
The blokes in Queensland who swapped a Coyote 5ltr in to a Raptor, are the best Raptors. If only emissions standards didnt hold ford back.. The v8 customer raptor is a bloody monster
@Christopher Holden at scale it would be marginally more expensive than the 4cyl TT version.. Look at the price of the v6TT.. Thats a much more complicated engine than the coyote
Fair review. I have driven one of these for the past 3 years and 113,000 Km. It's an enjoyable ride on the highways and very capable off-road at the farm. I can't find a reason to replace it as it is still very good despite the mud I leave on it and especially when the new model is 30% more expensive.
Not only is it 30% more expensive to buy, it is going to be a fuel guzzler! While Ford claims 8litres for our 2 litre engines, they claim already 16 litres for the new one! If I do the math, I am doing 13.6 liters in my 2 litre raptor, the new one would do over 20 litres with my driving style, yikes!
@@janjans0001 Over here in Malaysia, the new Raptor only comes with a 3 litre engine. No doubt more fun for more money, but guzzling more expensive petrol. I have never found the supposedly underpowered 2 litre engine wanting. After all, I use it like a workhorse pickup truck and not a weekend sportscar. So your point holds
@@jaytan915 At first I found it very slow as I come from a 3.5 double turbo diesel bmw X5. After a while you get used to it and it's fine for every day use. Only it tops out at 180kmh on the motorway and you need more space when overtaking... But it is all just luxury problems... On the other hand you take the raptor off road and it is more capable than I am willing to put it through! I do 120kmh on dirt roads and my wife asks me to go even faster! It is really really impressive off road!
@@janjans0001 I know 180kmh looks pathetic but really, the highest highway speed limit around here is only 110kmh so I can't do anything with the extra 70. Offroad, the Raptor is the most capable bad boy off-the-shelf. After an experience where my ute almost rolled off the edge of a cliff, I am not ashamed to admit that I don't go around testing my Raptor's off-road prowess. I'm just happy to overcome every challenge without a sweat. Anyway, when the car is used every day, the cost of the fuel guzzling will start to bite. And that's despite our state subsidised petrol and diesel.
If you use them as a "Hair Dresser Ute" they look pretty and are nice around the pavement. If you use them as a work ute well every tradie that I know in my work circle that has owned a bio turbo or a 3.2 have all had transmission problems above every thing else. Some of the guys have had 2 transmissions replaced. This is Fords M.O, make them flash, build them cheap. The new one, V6 diesel, is the same with engine failures and transmissions not being great.
Jim's comment on service intervals, I share the scepticism about the claimed extended intervals between drive train oil changes, engine too.$100k paid to purchase the thing yet skimp on oil changes?
Don't forget the folding mirrors and also my fav , the drinks cooler flap in the centre console bin . Air con duct into it works good for your drinks 🍷done all the mods and it's a peach 🍑 regular jumping on our property always blows newcomers minds when I take them out for the first time lol 🤣 so fun to own it 💪🤟
Even if you could get this for half the price of the current one, the new one is just so much better in every way conceivable that there’s no real choice.
Man, think this is the better looking Ranger Raptor. I am in the USA and was always upset we never got it. The engine did always seem to be under spec'd for what the truck was capable of. The new one fixes that but man, still think this generation looked better.
One tried to race my audi S4 I smoked it he got angry after I slowed down overtook me blocked the road and I hit a curb damaging my expensive tyre I wasn't happy people that drive these have small ones down stairs 😂
if you're rich enough to pay for the service and buy new one, then go, but if you have other financial priorities, then japanese brands still are the best
Anyone buying a dual cab ute that isn’t a base model, white with manual transmission has rocks in their head. It’s a 4 cylinder work/family car compromise. That’s it. Not a fashion accessory
My mate owns an auto transmission shop and after taxis switched from Holden and for to Toyota hybrid the only thing that saved home was the 10 speed rangers and the vw amaroks .....keep that in mind ppl
I think you don't understand a lot of raptor buyers. Dare I say, the majority of raptor buyers. I prefer suv driving experience with coil springs. I don't like wrecking my cars off road and I think pickups generally look boring. I like camping and visiting remote places and I do like the practicality of a pickup as I can load al my outdoor and camping gear in the back. The raptor is the only pickup I want as it looks and rides like a sporty suv rather than a farm truck. If you want a work truck, why would you buy one with coil springs snd a reduced load and towing capacity?
They only hate them because they are superbly reliable, and, on the off chance something might go wrong, the company doesn't throw their customers under the first bus that comes along. Just kidding.
after nearly a year....only complaints are less internal storage than previous ranger....and the lower gear changing makes it feel like it is over reving.
I think if they started Australia top gear again Adam should be On it. Or they should have a show like it love Adam and his Little Jokes brings out that Aussie Culture.
Totally agree mate. I can't see why s something like Stan wouldn't jump on doing some Australian car content with some fun. These guys got the perfect balance.
I totally don't get the love of these things. I suspect, based on my experience of spending a fair bit of time driving, that part of the appeal is literally looking down on the rest of us. If I were a farmer/ tradesman and could only have one vehicle ( to ferry kids etc), then maybe, until then, I'll stick to my Jimny! Oh, and no car parking issues for me either!
Thinking about trading in our D-MAX for one in Philippines. The prices here are much better than Oz, Looking at around 1.7M PHP ($45 AUD) for a 2019-20 with around 20,000kms on the clock.
Most of the Hate comes from either those who want one but can't justify the asking price ?? Or, from those who own this model and they drove the V6 model and regretted buying this model 😅 As much as I like the current model Raptor I'm starting to become a little sick of looking at them 🤔 Their becoming more common than Taxis now. Which is some of the reason why I'm starting to go off the thought of buying one ?? A good combination of a Raptor is this model as an X Model exterior with the interior of the current model and of course with the current V6 engine.
I have a 2020 raptor and am getting vibration through the seat when i get to about 80kmh, anyone else have this issue? Had wheels balanced 5 times, swapped the wheels out with a Explorer set and still had the issue.
I’m looking to buy my first ever ute and going to be the family car with 3 kids - 2 needs car seats. Currently driving a Q7 (2018), but wanted something can do bit of off-road, during school holidays. Comparing 2020 raptor with nextgen v6 Wildtrack. What would be your thoughts in terms of practicality and comfort?
What did you chose? I'm in the market for a 2022 Raptor in SA with 47000km on clock... The Hilux has its place, but this will fill the hole in my ego...
I really hoped it got a six speed manual, higher cylinder count and a two door version. As a halo car in the ranger line, it should have been alot more special
Rock solid Ute. I know a few people that own one and they seem to love the hell out of them. I've never seen a Raptor or a Ranger on the side of the road with the bonnet up so I have to believe them when they say they've had no major issues.
Having owned a wildtrak the raptor x interior was too similar..exterior looks great but engine isnt an upgrade from wildtrak either,....have to wait a while until 2023 raptors appear on second hand market
In the states the F150 raptor is very popular , meanwhile in Australia the raptor is low spec, underpowered and apparently built for eager Australians, says a lot about our complacency to accept mediocre
F150 is massive it's the size of a RAM1500, it is not a Ranger base like our Ranger Raptor. Ford Australia was talking about bringing a V8 option to the Ranger Raptor but enviro trends has put a lid on it. Shame as it would have been a very nice machine!@@eyecontrol4900
No way, same engine is now in base model so why would you buy one? A coil conversion, with some basic engine mods, and a tune on a PX3 3.2 litre diesel would be a more cost effective and reliable option... Or just put your name down for one of the new raptors and use the 2 year wait time to save more cash...
This is why I enjoy redriven, you don't hold back on your opinions. Calling it like it is.
Bought mine second hand about 4 months ago. Absolutely love it. Its a daily drive.
What did you get yours for? I’m looking at a few second hand aswell
Just bought a 2020 with 60k on the clock for 60k

2) Coolant Pump issue - Dash light came on just prior to 42,000km - Coolant Pump replaced, - 06 Jun 2022
3) Transmission Overheating (46,000km)- on a return drive from Melbourne to Toowoomba during the hill sections of southern NSW, thermo bypass valve appeared sticky, transmission was slightly over filled- Transmission was serviced (replaced fluid) and tested, - 22 July 2022
4) Tail Shaft slip yoke (69,000km)- On a recent service the Ford Techs identified that the Tail slip yoke had excessive play (+/-3-5mm) in the slip joint near end of expected suspension range - replaced with new tail shaft unit, - 10 August 2023 (of Note newer Tail shaft design installed)

FORD- found on the road dead
@@esso0527 its called good customer service. you make it sound like it was a mountain to climb
@@jakelong7976 don’t do it, they’re absolute shit. I think part of the problem is the 15,000k service intervals.
@@frankz5864
Oil pump is an issue but a well setup 3.2L is a beast & rivals the current 3L V6 diesel turbo
Ford fitted a small turbo on them, a terrible oil pump, crap EGR Cooler, injectors that need replacing around 130k.
My mate has one for 120,000km and not a single issue with it.
i know one maid whoe has second gearbox ,second engine , third injectors , and his RR have only 100.000 km .
another had engne replace after 30.000
in my raptor everything was change , only fox susspension stay on his place .
It’s a Ute
It’s a bloody Ute mate
It’s meant to work and go off road not drive over gutters and be the tuff truck in the Coles carpark with a wanker for a driver or most likely Mrs Wanker.
You can get them for £25-35k now they’re cheap af
Best rocking safety list EVER, still hate the car but thoroughly enjoyed the video 😁😁😁
Haha, glad you enjoyed it!
A little bit like Jeeps....you either get a really good one or a crap one. However like anything, take care of it and it will take care of you
Look at that F-series behind Jim in all its glorious brownness!
Mine stops really well so I don't know what they are on about I have a 2018 Mustang GT ok that stops the best by a mile after that the Raptor is the best followed by Ford Territory, Ford BA LTD, then the MUX then my old 73 mustang but she's getting an upgrade to Wilwoods
Cheers
While being back home in Thailand I was looking at quite a few to purchase but many were either mistreated or overly modified with aftermarket parts
Eventually found a stock standard MUX which does the job I guess
You must be from Gold Coast 😄
@@sergiobulkin2941 No, lovely sunny Victoria.
I live in the Philippines and this is literally the most common cool vehicle, even my dentist has a black one like this.
Do you think it’s just angry Toyota owners trying to shit on Rangers? I own a 2010 Hilux but I’m thinking of buying a 2021 raptor
Still waiting for Mazda6 review, specifically post 2018 with all auto cruise and safety features.
I really appreciate if you test the cars auto cruise in traffic (of course if the feature is available).
Thank you so much mate, UA-cam really needed a channel such as yours.
You’ve got a real fan here that supports you as much as he can😊
The review we didn’t know we needed!!!!
@@NeoCavo or even the godzilla
I'd still go for the 1st Gens, love the fuel economy on them! They can pretty much go anywhere!
Seen a YT clip of some guys in Qld put a V8 from a Mustang in this - that is the business
Jim's comment on service intervals, I share the scepticism about the claimed extended intervals between drive train oil changes, engine too.$100k paid to purchase the thing yet skimp on oil changes?
Most bogans probably buy it using their Cenno payments
most tradies who own these get them exploiting that tax loophole we have.
Why these never came standard with a Coyote 5.0 V8 boggles the mind.
Emissions. Now put a Barra in them they would have sold like hot cakes.
my family got this and no issues at all at 110k km. basic maintenance only
Don't forget the folding mirrors and also my fav , the drinks cooler flap in the centre console bin . Air con duct into it works good for your drinks 🍷done all the mods and it's a peach 🍑 regular jumping on our property always blows newcomers minds when I take them out for the first time lol 🤣 so fun to own it 💪🤟
Even if you could get this for half the price of the current one, the new one is just so much better in every way conceivable that there’s no real choice.
yaaayyyy!!!!! new redriven vid, just what i was waiting for. Kp up the detailed vids adam and jim!!😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

The honesty I love it… I hardly ever subscribe but this content is good haha
Mine now have 120k kms. Still all stock. Happy with mine. Brake pads still stock except with the battery. 4 year old raptor
Jim didn’t talk about DPF issues on this one! I’m shocked!
Isn't that kind of an expected thing with modern diesel engines?
Man, think this is the better looking Ranger Raptor. I am in the USA and was always upset we never got it. The engine did always seem to be under spec'd for what the truck was capable of. The new one fixes that but man, still think this generation looked better.
Ford Ranger Raptor, the official car of 'speeding past a hatchback on a windy two-lane back road and binning it into a ditch'.
I have gone off Ford as the new ones in 2 door have a 2 lt. motor. No V6. There is no replacement for displacement.
They so many on sales with around 70k price tags and can’t see any selling as price is too high. Would fall more next year
Agreed. The prices on these will start to drop fast once there is more of the new model Raptors become more available
Been waiting for this one!! Nice work
its usually one of these tailgating you, even tho your in something that can accelerate twice as fast, which isnt hard lol
One tried to race my audi S4 I smoked it he got angry after I slowed down overtook me blocked the road and I hit a curb damaging my expensive tyre I wasn't happy people that drive these have small ones down stairs 😂
Another great vid guys. Those used prices are scary to say the least.
if you're rich enough to pay for the service and buy new one, then go, but if you have other financial priorities, then japanese brands still are the best
Ppl buying these for 65k with 150k have rocks in their head

Oh, and no car parking issues for me either!

starting with dpf.
Lovely thing, but damn... I start hating Ford
Most of the Hate comes from either those who want one but can't justify the asking price ??
Or, from those who own this model and they drove the V6 model and regretted buying this model 😅
As much as I like the current model Raptor I'm starting to become a little sick of looking at them 🤔
Their becoming more common than Taxis now.

I really hoped it got a six speed manual, higher cylinder count and a two door version.
As a halo car in the ranger line, it should have been alot more special
Rock solid Ute. I know a few people that own one and they seem to love the hell out of them. I've never seen a Raptor or a Ranger on the side of the road with the bonnet up so I have to believe them when they say they've had no major issues.
My mates 2020 model was on a tow truck at 8000kms 6 months old. Trans exploded. Like the guy said, hit and miss
Having owned a wildtrak the raptor x interior was too similar..exterior looks great but engine isnt an upgrade from wildtrak either,....have to wait a while until 2023 raptors appear on second hand market
Why did ford stop making this? Sales are booming for mid and full size trucks... if there were flaws with this model, update and fix them.
Do the Ford Territory soon guys 👍🏼
I'm so glad they got rid of that engine for the v6.
In the states the F150 raptor is very popular , meanwhile in Australia the raptor is low spec, underpowered and apparently built for eager Australians, says a lot about our complacency to accept mediocre
just saw on raiti rides channel that the f150 raptor has the v8. i dont get why we here in Aus dont get it
F150 is massive it's the size of a RAM1500, it is not a Ranger base like our Ranger Raptor. Ford Australia was talking about bringing a V8 option to the Ranger Raptor but enviro trends has put a lid on it. Shame as it would have been a very nice machine!@@eyecontrol4900
Interested in the Bronco Raptor, although not here yet, it would be great to see how you guys would assess it. Great vids guys 👍
Recently saw a new one advertised for $120k!
No way, same engine is now in base model so why would you buy one? A coil conversion, with some basic engine mods, and a tune on a PX3 3.2 litre diesel would be a more cost effective and reliable option... Or just put your name down for one of the new raptors and use the 2 year wait time to save more cash...
Hmmm, 100 grand to get a Ranga with a liveable ride and a one in five chance that it's a shitter? Yep, that's about normal for a Ford product.
