Stunning V90 :D love the interior beige and wood. Thank you for your honest review and i appriciate that since that Volvo in my country is a 6 figure car. Hello from Croatia :D
I had a similar fault on my 2019 model, (although not as severe as yours), and the error was IF i had DAB on, and it lost signal, then the whole system crashed. Howard at Ray Chapman motors cured this (after first needlessly changing the £2950 Head Unit) , by replacing one line of code. This cured the problem completely. P.S. I like your vids, but PLEASE use landscape rather than portrait.
I have used landscape mode on all my videos post this one. I should have reshot the footage, but some of the experiences would have been lost, so I decided to do a second review with updates. Sounds like the car takes up a lot of time and wasted energy. But, we are both reasonable people, I'm sure and it's only when we're made to feel like we're complaining about nothing that it irritates. Thanks for your comment :)
I agree. I have spoken with Volvo and expressed that it feels like I'm using a beta release. The connectivity reconnected by itself this morning, I drove 50 miles out of 119 and it all crashed again.
Thanks again for your tip. I reset the system this morning and the navigation is working again. I only used the car for a 2 mile trip and so it's too soon to know if it crashes again, but at least I now know how to reset if it does happen again. :)
@@PaulMichaels01 Can you also try holding down the front windscreen defrost button for about 20-30 seconds? I've heard this can reset just the internet modem rather than the entire system.
@@PaulMichaels01 Sure. I will get mine in about 1 week, so I will let you know about drive modes, start-stop switch, etc. I noticed that owners manual in the mobile app for model year 2022 is now available and up to date (more info than on a website).
I have a V90 CC on order in the US and am disappointed with all the quaity issues with your V90. Must be very frustrating. I read through the owner's manual which is available online. My build also says that drive mode is a standard feature in the V90 CC. According to the manual, it is accessed through the main screen from settings. Same for start/stop deactivation. All these issues with the infotainment system seem like a software issue and I hope you get them resolved soon. One should be able to play music using Apple carplay if using an iphone. But boy, what a bummer! I guess you could have refused to take delivery of the car with so many problems.
Thanks for watching my video. I have since installed Tidal and found that 'Master Quality' or HD is not available in the car, even with the right £19.99 per month subscription. Standard CD quality is the best you can get. Spotify is MP3 320bps too, so no good there either. At the moment my GPS is not working and everyday has shown up new issues. Even in the 2022 V90 manual, all the functions that the car doesn't have are listed on there. I won't have any hair left by the end of this.
@@PaulMichaels01 I’m really sorry to hear about your troubles with the car. Have you considered returning it to the dealer? Clearly, the features listed in the manual are missing. Lack of seat massage, drive modes, equalizer for the B&W sound etc. are all deal breakers to me personally. Hard to believe Volvo actually removed those features. That would be terrible.. I’m glad I came across your video. I will make sure that my ordered car has those features or else I will refuse delivery and order an A6 allroad instead.
@@anandn7425 I'm glad you have more information in which to base any decision you make regarding your V90 now. I would love to say that things have improved, but in fact, they've got worse. My navigation display still is stuck, internet connection still off and still no answers. These are all deal breakers for me too.
I understand, you had the car for one week only, when you made this video. So bring the V90 back to the dealer for a re-calibration of the system. They might also check the negative connection on the battery. A lost or unstable connection can cause many funny faults. The battery itself can be faulty too and not up to full load. Missing features? You could take a look at the specs when ordering the car. It's not something the dealer has removed or stolen. Good luck and enjoy your Volvo!
@@PaulMichaels01 The V90 is the only "affordable" and normal station wagon we can get in the US market. MB stopped selling the regular E wagon and we can only get the stupid looking All Terrain (same for Audi). And the MB is bloody expensive. I just want a full size station wagon. BMW abandoned the US market in 2010. We owned a 2012 BMW 5 touring in Germany and loved it; had to sell it in 2019 when we left though. Hopefully this is all just either a bad software flash or a single bad component / board that can be swapped out. The polestar brand cars are running the same system with a different skin / theme applied and they seem to be settled now so might just be you have gotten very unlucky. You can't turn off start stop function, which I hope will be added later. Volvo should be calling me back today regarding USB.
