I understand that people like to use .715 x FV to calculate the amount of silver in junk but I prefer to use .723 and then see how much silver they have lost when I weigh them. $1.40 FV is the closest you can come to 1 ounce of silver. Have you seen my video on silver dimes?!? 👉🏽 ua-cam.com/video/_LHzCWcNXrE/v-deo.html
if you want a nicer box cutter, check out the Milwaukee fastback, or fastback compact. home depot usually has them in-store. steer clear of the version with in-handle blade storage tho, as it's too bulky for pocket carry.
I was thinking that since you said something about 13 times the face value of 90% silver. Since there is 50% less silver in those kinds of coins, would you recommend a decent price for 40% silver coins 6.5 times the face value?
Mercury dimes are better because silver Roosevelt dimes can be confused with the current Roosevelt dimes. Most people don't know the difference. But with Mercury's there's no question you've got something special.
Awesome...I'm glad you received them. Sorry about all the tape...I didn't want them to come loose in shipping and have them hear that coins were in there. Man, you've got to love 600 dimes 😀 That is a great addition to the stack! Thanks SD.

Walking Liberty half dollars for daaays and days! A mixture or one denomination of pre-1965 90% silver coins adding up to a face value of $1.00. Each face value of one dollar will contain 0.715 troy ounces of fine silver.
Super nice my friend , I also have some 90% Silver Dimes , half dollar & some 90% silver dollars . They have a lot of history with them , no telling who had it & were it has been around the USA . Have a good one my friend , hope you & your family is all safe !!!!!
I love constitutional silver.Glad i stacked some before the new tax in Illinois. For $80 face there is a tax of $66.26 That's close to 1 dollar per ounce. Pure bullion is not taxed in Illinois, just 90% and less. Stupid tax!
enjoyed the video! you mentioned the term “Troy ounce”… just wanted to mention to folks watching ur video in case they didn’t know “A troy ounce is a unit of measurement used to weigh precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum. It's based on a pound of 12 ounces, which is different from the avoirdupois system, which is based on a pound of 16 ounces.”
I do stack junk silver and I feel roosevelt dimes are the best I feel at least what I have they tend to have that best weight due to wear over quarters and halves. Great video my friend 👍👍👍
Im 2 years late to the party but, I Just picked up my first ounce in constitutional silver a mix of quarters and dimes. I got a mercury dime which I thought was a cool find but I ended up getting one of the 1999 silver quarters which I didn't even realize existed!
I don’t care what I get mercy or Rosie’s I will take anyone of them I just love looking through them that’s my passion , tell me we’re is the best place to get these coins, thanks 🙏.
Nice purchase my favorite coin is the mercury dime my aunt would give my brother and I one if we were good and I would find one here and there in pocket change any way I thought a roll had around 3oz plus in them of silver
I used to not like junk silver, main reason is I was paying to much for it from online dealers. I started buying from my LCS at lower prices just recently and realise how important it can be to have. I bought $29 face from my LCS just before the crash, the very next day he was out of all silver with exception of numismatic. I'm thankful to have my junk silver.
Junk silver is the best to own for most working people. When I was a kid we used to pick out the silver coins from change. My first job as a cashier I kept all the silver coins. As an adult I continued to do that. Over that time I was able to get close to $1,000 face value of silver for under $1,000. Even as recently as last fall a bank had 20 almost uncirculated 90% half dollars in their tray! I bought them for $0.50 each. When I started buying silver, it was really cheap so I bought 100oz bars. When it got more expensive I moved to coins (Eagles & Pandas). Premiums started going up so I bought the cheapest silver possible which was 90% junk. Looking back I think it would have been better to only buy junk. Just a few days before the physical market went crazy, I walked into a bullion dealer and he had over $2,000 face of junk half dollars in stock. The price was just over spot. He told me he was having problems selling it and offered it at spot. I wasn’t really interested in silver but I ended up getting 200 since I kinda love junk. Now he’s selling them at $7 over spot.
Those dimes are now $2.10 ea. on Apmex now. I was buying in the fall for an average $11.00 per $1- face. Sold some dimes to a friend for $1.80 ea. last week. I love Junk 90% Silver coins.
Finally a video about junk silver. This has to be the best way of getting weight, starting off, or from a historical fact who held it. 1.20 face is awesome price to pay. If you want to sell them please let me know :) Keep all of these awesome videos coming!!! I love the FALCON!!!!!!! PS always go with Roseys Vs Mercs. weight is usually better
Made my first silver purchase yesterday. Picked up 50$ face for 600. Got 20 half dollars and the rest in dimes. Probably paid too much but that's what I get for waiting till a crisis.
Good video to watch it was. Thanks to Bioshock 2. Time to listen to "Ten cents a dance" by Ruth Etting 1930 Ten cents a dance, that's what they pay me, gosh how they weigh me down.
Ok, so junk silver has a lot of good points to them. First off selling should not be subject to any taxes in most places. Also the buyer usually does not have to hold them for a period. Some places require LCS and pawn dealers to hold PMs for thirty days before reselling but not these coins. However much of this does not matter if this really is the SHTF. They are very recognizable and will become more so if the SHTF and their small size makes daily purchases easy. Large purchases will be done in gold or kilos of silver but groceries will need these small denominations and you only need to show what the purchase amount is. Can you imagine buying something with a ten oz bar and getting nine one oz rounds plus some junk silver for change in front of a crowd of strangers? I don't want to risk getting my head bashed in. So dimes and quarters are handy. Same with halfs and dollars, but the dollars are not based on face as they are a little heavier. On a side note, Rosies and Kennedy's are not as popular because they are both available in junk silver and clad which might confuse the common man. I for one think folks will learn very fast after the SHTF or they will be getting screwed left and right, so I don't really think this is an issue. Get the best deal you can as long as they are all junk silver and priced right.
i'm probably an idiot.. but how do you calculate how much times face value you paid for a lot of dimes? I only ever figured out how much I paid for each individual dime and divided that by the .3617. then subtracted the spot of price when I purchased from that answer, so I know how much of a total premium I paid over spot. But how would I work backwards and figure out what multiplier over face-value I paid?
Here in Minneapolis: the Northwest Coin Club Money Show has been cancelled for this year. I guess the dealers didnt want to lose money selling now, plus the venue called it off because of the virus of course. I love junk silver myself, Morgans, Peace, halves etc. I think our coins should be silver again and intead of a face value, the mint should just put the silver content & each day merchants & folks could see how much that amount was worth & proceed from there. Such as today a dime is worth 91.2 cents, round it up to a dollar. OR. put a face value on them such as a dime = $2.00 a quarter = $5.00 a 50 cent piece would be $10.00 a Morgan or Peace could be $20.00 & finally a Silver Eagle could be $25.00.
12 times smoking hot deal given SHFT we in now.. I only have one mercy cause I found it walking my baby 7 years ago it was first piece of silver I ever had .. I wasn't awake so I didn't realize it's value. I don't buy Mercury because the one I found is special to me. Later walking my second baby I found a walking liberty half dollar at that point I was almost half awake... I started to stack nickels cause I didn't have much money which lead me to find a way to to make more so I could stack.. Now I have to stack cash my LCS is closed because the government says they are non essential. But I give Credit for island stamp and coin they stayed open until they were forced to close.
People are ignorant and that's why I went half Mercury dimes. Some would think the Roosevelt dimes are only worth ten cents, never underestimate the stupidity of the average American. I have $50 face value of each plus $50 face value in silver Washington quarters. That should cover my Constitutional silver and I'm going to American Eagles next.

.723 is only valid for 1964 Kennedy half dollars in practice. Everything else has a lower value closer to .715 or .710 or even .695 depending on wear.
Great content. Love the bump clips. I perfer “constitutional” over “junk”, sounds more regal for silver. Be safe Silver Dragon, best to you.
