The distant radio chatter. The muffled sound effects. The wet, bubbly clicks of the UI. The cold, austere, minimalistc but beautiful world design/asset models. The mysterious background music. This whole trailer is like an ethereal ASMR video and I love it.
Couldn't have said better myself. Especially those UI clicks--scratches an itch deep in my brain. This is gonna suck up all my gaming time
@@patrigtx4098I already told my girlfriend that when this comes out I will most likely dissapear for a while :))
I’d slay for an hour long ASMR track to layer over something else for tabletop gaming.
Yeah, but that "tearing through space" effect looks fucking wicked!
The ui clicking has the opposite effect on me. It is revolting.
That small choice of having the FTL leave animation being red-shifted and arriving animation being blue-shifted is so satisfying
that orbital bombardment was awesome, i've always wanted a game where you can have battles in space and on planet simultaneously, planetery annihilation was pretty fun but this scratches that itch because the scaling is just *chefs kiss
If you like games like that check out Fragile Existance, it's not out yet but looks promising.
Star Wars: Empire at War.
Now you can glass your very own Kharak
Another game called Fragile Existence appeared to be doing the same thing although there is no transition from planets to space.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this game progresses.
Sins of a Solar Empire might be your kinda game
The detail of the FTL jump - the red shift for the out going and the blue shift for the incoming jump - brings a tear into my eye. The asteroid mining is absolutely the best I have ever seen in any game. The sceenery, the UI, the zoom functions, the ambience, the stellar physics - i.e. the probe launching -, the overall atmosphere; they are all mind boggling. I am drooling here profusely...
Reminds me of Babylon 5 that did the same thing for it's incoming and outgoing hyperspace jump points.
Darnit this game is so close to The Expanse universe, sound/music, magnificent, ship movement, everything, cant wait!!!
with FTL jump, it is long away from Expanse. Just the first feel of Martian shipyards. Check out Nebulous Fleet Command for more expanse-like combat.
Holy shit, that looks amazing....it's like the space game I always wanted and nobody ever made.
Yes. I feel the same.
The others just feel like a "build a massive fleet and attack enemy base in a big armada" type typical RTS game.
But this seems to have vast strategies here.
I cant fucking wait to play this
If this studio made a star wars, star trek, Expanse show game, or Halo space game I would be it in a heartbeat
Same. This extended look put my hype level to max. I can't wait. Game already looks fun as hell to play.
@@ArilMaven it's not a studio is just one guy who made this
The scale of everything is so good! And that FTL jump animation is the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Don't you think the moon feels a little small. Enceladus has a 500km diameter and the ship is only 130m in length.
Edit: ship length
@@sabru72 considering ships get tinier when then try to land on moons we can just assume its a matter of camera angle and perspective .
Aye, the look is good but I watched with headphones on... oh boy! The is superb!
If i am correct. The FTL the ships use is a Black Hole and White Hole generator. The black hole is the entry point and the white hole is the exit point.
@@juangarza7530 that's correct . It use the same colors too since the blackholes we managed to see have an orange color surrounding them while the white holes look bright
Every time I get to see something new about this game makes me want it more and more. The progress and quality improving over the years and following the progress is just awesome. I cant wait for the game to be released so that i can try out and enjoy every single bit of this game.
Keep up the great work!
WHOS GONNA FEAST ON EARTH'S SKY AND DRINK THEIR RIVERS DRY?
MMC!
During that combat preview at the end, those two ships looked like they were about to hit each other then they just stopped. Seemed a bit odd.
What do you want to happen then?
Collision dynamics aren't yet programmed nor animated completely to implement such dynamism, we could only speculate for its addition in progress. Its the game is however ready to be released and I'm looking forward to it.
I believe the term for this situation is "now kith"
Always a fucking dude ready to nitpick to desperately paint something, anything, negatively.
@@cetri777Have the smaller one explode and do damage based on tonnnage or something to the bigger ship possibly destroying it too
I still can't believe only 1 person works on this huge project. Looks incredible. cant wait for release.
Wait, for real? I thought it is just a small studio but really, only one dev? Incredible!
Scott Buckley's soundtrack is truly awe inspiring.
It has that original Homeworld feel to it but distinctly Homeworld. Top notch I agree.
It's been mentioned that the 'enemy' can detect those warps. I was originally thinking it was just a vague, they give off a certain kinda energy, thing.
But now, since it's also been mentioned that it's Line-of-Sight based i think it's more a tuned visual sensor.
The event is so visually stunning, and takes awhile on both the entry and exit. Plus it itself is a line of sight kinda thing, so a visual sensor specifically made to find those events could probably find them easy enough if they were pointed in the right direction.
Can't wait Indeed it's been sitting in my wishlist since the very first trailer
We need an ASMR that's just the world map and all the game soundtrack at this point.
Can't wait...❤
This looks so awesome already!!
As others have said from the little details like the radio chatter, to the atmosphere, to the sounds... this is all looking truly amazing! This is the sort of game ive been dreaming about for years and I simply cannot wait to play this! Will be booking at least a week off work for this! cant wait!
I would be happy to pay for early access and get updates as this game develops as its truly a masterpiece!
This music gives me so much Haegemonia: Legions of Iron and BSG chills. Omg, this game is a wet Sci-fi dream come true. 8:51 jesus man, stop. The Devs are killing us with that epic sound effects and those visuals. This game looks and sounds insane. 12:45 goodbye planet :-
Dev*
Haegemonia was such an underrated game.
@@manowarx Thats not the case anymore. He has had a team for some time now since going solo dev was not viable.
@@michaelg.8062 kinda-sorta. It's three people max if you include Scott Buckley as the music composer, with Varzov as the 3d artist, then the rest of it is all Todd with some people to bounce UI design ideas and such off of in the Alpha Tester group.
love the composer Scott Buckley music for falling frontier !
Anyone else following the background radio chatter storyline between trailers? First you have the Richmond and the Caligula onroute to Erebus (Mining Barge), then they're diverted to fight the mars ship where tthe Richmond is destroyed (SatCom) and now at the start of this one the Caligula is being pursued. I know it's a small thing in the grand scheme of things but I really love the attention to detail.
Sci-fi has never been the same after watching The Expanse. This is most certainly scratching an itch, which has been lingering for quite a while.
This looks so fucking awesome!!! Love that realistic cargo transfer!
Take your time! Release it only when it's ready! Looks great so far.
Brothers and sisters of MARS. For years, the Empire of Terra had forever strangled us, hindering our excision from the mass potential frontier. but no more, for this I swear to you all, we will counter the system. FOR MARS.
You dare defy the cradle of humanity!!!!
I've been waiting for so long for this RTS. I check for news weekly
My word....that ethereal soundtrack, and those UI clicks....ASMR dream! I could listen to these all day. Cannot wait for this to be released!
I hope more iconography and visual identity is given to the nations, atm it feels like an array of factions without much interest about them. Don't get me wrong, i've watched this video like 4 times the vibe is GORGEOUS everything about it is immense and hype building! The radio chatter and sound palate is beautiful, even just sitting there feels tense
I just would love to see some focus on the planetary nation-states themselves, I understand this is an RTS, and politics wont come into it, but seeing things like actual flags, 'USS Enterprise' type titular nametages on the hulls with flags and iconography of the navies and nations would just be so mesmerising, feeling like i'm genuinely in charge of a planetary defence force trying to fight for a fleshed out and expansive colony with thousands if not millions of citizens.
If I'm fighting for Titan, I wanna feel like im really part of Titan, and i can fly its flag with pride, as I order my helmsman to jump to Europa to help our friends.
08:50 chef kiss. Love that animation and the sfx
love to see a live sign and a real good looking one as well.
The chatter, the sound, the setting, oh it's like a buffet for the senses!
cheers todd for everything youre doing. and vazrov... stunning work on these new ships... hopefully this means a revision in all ships for all factions
Reminds me of an RTS version of "Nebulous: fleet command". Which I absolutely LOVE. I'm obsessed with this and can't wait for the release!!
08:32 - 09:07 hyperdrive sequences, wormhole opening and exit were beautiful like Babylon 5 series.👍🏻
I reeeeeally hope you include AI radio chatter when youre in the vicinity of a unit. That really ups the immersion thousandfold!
I need this game. I've been waiting for a proper Nexus: Jupiter Incident style game for decades now
Oh my god the audio is just *Chef's Kiss*
There's some absolute bangers from indie devs coming out soon. Some of them 1 man dev teams like Manor Lords. Falling frontier is looking incredible each time I see it. Instant buy from me when it comes out.
I hope this game is successful and inspires more of its type. I'd like to see more sci-fi that focuses in on a single solar system because I feel like a solar system is suitably grand scale, yet still small enough to be able to go into detail on the individual pieces.
Yup we like the ant collecting effect of collector ships when moving cargo and mining.
As always, every aspect of this game looks beautiful. I do hope the distant planet and system view isn't locked into the flat UI though. I love how it looks, but I love the old volumetric 3d planets too.
Absoluetly gorgeous trailer. And quiet surprising ; I was not expecting something of that nature for the game.
Cheers Stutter Fox !
I am very much looking forward to this one. The design is breathtaking and the gameplay looks very promising.
I can’t wait for this launch. Instantly on my wish list.
Thats the most stylish GUI i ever have seen in an RTS
Looks like a sins of solar empire on Sterioids
I am excited more for this than for homeworld 3. FF looks absolutely stunning
This reminds me very heavily of how Homeworld felt to me when I was younger. Great to see the immersive side is beautiful. Slightly concerned over how micro-intensive this game looks. But we will simply have to see when it comes out.
Dang this game just keeps looking better and better, very excited for this launch it feels like the space genre is getting some much needed love in the near future from various studios.
So gutted we that we've been waiting SO long for this piece of awesomeness. Hopefully releases in early 2025 and not the latter part, I really cannot wait and I'm certainly not getting any younger.
Can't wait for this game! It seems like the Space-RTS that I have been waiting for.
The UI is really coming along!
I particularly loved that the "admiral dude" and "assistant lady" icons are AI generated and animated images in style of "Balenciaga Harry Potter" meme
I could watch this over and over again just to soothe myself from the radio chatter.
THIS LOOKS FREAKING EPIC!!!! Hoping it's not late 2025 until we get to play but keep up the great work!
Can't wait to get my hands on this game. I hope the interface sound effects change though, I legit thought there was a Geiger counter on the ship for some reason until I realized that was the buttons being moused over. That aside, this feels like the The Expanse tactics and strategy game that I wanted ever since watching the battle of the Donager vs. the stealth ships.
I like how lethal that combat was. Just a couple of shots exchanged and its all over.
All i can say i am not ashamed to even admit that I am very jealous, this is the game I've been wanting to make for a Long time, now that i would have most of the skills for it, it's already being made by an incredibly talented developer with great vision.
I will easily console myself with the fact that i will get to play the game of my dreams with full wonder of exploration!
This game looks better and better with every trailer
Titan fleet yards: How many nukes you want on this hano?
Captain of the Fitzroy: Y E S
Proceeds to commit 12:35
I don't think I can wait any more for this gem.
The way HW3 is shaping up I think this may be what I really need. And I love the FTL transition!
James Holden would be happy with the look of these ships.
Graphics look nice. Ship customization looks nice. Game sounds nice. Verdict: very nice! Also wishlisted.
I'm so unbelievably hyped for this game man
never thought they'd name a frigate after a city in WA
Dear persons what are making this: PLEASE, PLEASE RELEASE THIS GAME THIS VERY INSTANT, I DON'T WANT TO WAIT ANYMORE. Many thanks.
Strong Expanse vibes from this game. That's a good thing by the way. Looking very good so far been following this game for quite some time now.
Mass effect explained avoiding light lag with "comm buoys" which shuttled between FTL Mass Relays... And quantum entanglement ofc. Would be extra neat if this game had light-lag or FTL couriers for a campaign spanning the solar system
Imagine if this studio made a Halo Wars/Space Combat game. I would cry tears of joy. 🥵
This looks and sounds so fucking good.
the money shot at the end
Who else has watched this trailer 50 times already? Dreaming of playing this game lol.
The hype is real! Make it good and I will buy the game 3 times just to support you!
This looks better n better with every trailer ! cant wait to play it!
Mix of MCRN and SDF (Settlement Defense Front from COD) and I'm here for it.
I love the way every ship feels significant. I just hope that you are able to build and deploy fleets in large engagements.
This looks wonderful.
Most hyped game for years. Just want it soon 😆
Cant express how much i want to play this game as a fan of stellaris and homeworld, i just wish for good camera manipulation to be able to view your ships in combat from all sorts of angles
The expanse has come back to life
This game is looking so good! Keep up the fantastic work. Definitely getting this.
Perfect, one thing though - the radio chatter is extremely harsh on the ears, it's not peaking, but you might want to try and normalize it more.
Looks great.
It does seem like there should be some sort of ui or ux feedback when actions like 9:45 are taken though. I can see people doing repeated actions because they're not sure if the action registered or not.
The ship deaths at 11:45 were really subtle too. Not having the ships explode is a nice touch of realism, but then there should probably be some other way the player is notified of the enemy ship's incapacitation.
Great to see how the game progressed. Graphics look amazing.
Whished the dev would have commented on what we are seeing and give a general update on the current status of the game though.
IMO the menu button clicking sounds should be less pronounced.
i'm sure there will be audio options to dial down specific sounds
Looking good 👍 Hope there are some longer range engagements. Maybe some multi screen target to shooter representation. The close quarter fights look nice and sound affects feel immersive.. The visual ethos is gorgeous we appreciate the time your spending on this. Looking forward to playing!!!💪
So happy to see this game alive and well. Looking forward!
Man I am super excited cause it looks great! Props for having a gog version!
I love it ❤ I can feel the expanse vibes 🎉 can t wait to go deep into the game!
Keep it coming my body is ready
Very impressive, can't wait for this game!
Clicked on the trailer and was "WTF this thing is over 13 minutes long"... NOICE.
Pushing back release date was absolutely the right thing to do. Take all the time you need to make the game that you want to make. This looks incredible.
Cannot wait for this game. It looks better and better with every updated trailer.
The sound design on this thing 😩
Sweeeet, now this would be a perfect game for a 40K Gothic Armada mod.
Gimme the game already!
Very expanse like in its look so far, very much digging it.
Things you can see from the trailer - ship collision is not implemented yet, you can see at 11:59. AI is not fully implemented, ship acted as on a script rather than on series of scripts, after while they just stopped.
Very good! I love everything about this so far. One thing I would improve, though: The combat at 11:30 looks and sounds really good, especially the projectiles impacting the ships. However, at 11:58, when the two ships collide, I would have expected something more to happen than just the two ships bouncing off each other without touching. I understand there might be a hitbox at play, which prevents the two ships from touching, but an animation would be nice, where the ship hulls get scraped with maybe sparks or small parts flying off into space. Or maybe even complete destruction with a big explosion if both ships surpass a certain mass/velocity threshold or one ships is hit in a vulnerable spot.
I’ve been waiting since middle of 2019
Digging the new ftl drive. Though I really liked the old one's audio distortion
Game looks amazing. whislisted this back in early 2020, i wonder if i will be able to play it one day :)
Hot damn! This should be a Netflix show as well as a game the graphics and animation are that good!
This game is awesome, genuinely one of the coolest games i've seen in a while. The one major issue I saw though is 11:58. That ship should have collided with the other, putting side amazing cinematic affect, having them just kinda stop then turn away from each other just looks weird.
This looks so amazing. Initially gutted at the delay but please take as long as needed to release your vision for the end product. Telling anyone I know who likes sci-fi / strategy to check this out
