Hi Dorothy! l keep my couch up on purpose in my van (it turns into a bed) I sleep better with the back support, plus I don't like risking waking up on back due to GERD. I just rotate direction of my pillow when I need to switch sides facing out. PS) I was the one who met your lovely mother, and took picture of her pretty sandals! 🤣Love your set-up! ❤

ps..Tanya regarding a place to pee. I had 4" height clearance under the passenger seat and about 15" between the seat rails. I found a sitz bath in my closet and reinforced it with pool noodles on 3 sides, because it's very flimsy and bends. This keeps it stable. I lined it with a puppy pad and tried it first at home. Works great. bag it and toss. But they make a bunch of collapsible toilets that fit under the seat. They're probably way more sturdy.
