The correct way to cut and open a Jack fruit is lengthwise thats how we do it in the state of Goa, the fruit pieces remain intact and not in small pieces.

Jackfruit is one of the tastiest fruits, next only to mangoes. But it is as tough to get at the fruit, as it is easy with mango. But the effort of extracting the fruit is rewarding. Excellent instructions. The video could have been shortened a little.

I was short on time watching this, but I just increased the playback speed in the settings for this video to 1.25x and I got all of the information in a shorter amount of time. I have never dealt with a whole jackfruit, and knew very little about them, so I really appreciate all of the information that he presented here. I’ll be watching it in its 1x playback speed when I have more time, and likely when I’m ready to prepare my jackfruit later this week.

I love Jackfruit! I haven’t learned the true name yet and appreciate how you didn’t show that jack fruit needs to be so pretty. Also, by allowing the fruit to fall to the side in its process and natural form how to get into to it.
I have some today and this helped me especially with prepping the knife and hands with oil.

This is amazing! It looks beautiful and tasty. I love Jack fruit. It's incredibly expensive here in Portugal. I have just paid € 10,00 for 800 gr of it in two cans which I bought from Germany on Amazon. Imagine, Jack fruit from India, bought from Germany to be eaten in Portugal. I wish I had known from Jack fruit when I went to India. Greetings and thanks for you video.

I cut up and ate some of my first jackfruit today! My family loves it. I did not like the stickiness though. I did watch this video after I started cutting bc I didn’t realize about the resin. My index and thumb hurt so bad now from all the pulling prodding and cleaning of the fruit. It's fleshy with the texture of cantaloupe but tastes like a mix of papaya, pineapple, and mango. Next time I'll use gloves!

Avoid following the "urban" of cutting a jackfruit; stick to the traditional / "rural" method. For a change, i had followed the "urban" method this morning. What seemed to be very satisfying in the beginning, soon turned out to be a huge headache. The cleaning part of the small individual pieces of the fruit is super time consuming in this method.

Hello! I've been eating jackfruit for several years. Last year we tried cooking the fresh on a juicy fruity jackfruit. The flesh did not cook well it was too sweet. Do you have to get different kinds of jackfruit to eat both the fruit and flesh? I know when it's raw is typically when you eat the flesh... but is there ANY way to eat both the fruit and the flesh in a ripe fruit? I look forward to trying the seeds so I'm using more of the fruit.
