It seemed that the contact mic was for the video audience. The difference in the pick movement seemed big enough to tell when you should continue to move the disc. This picking method will work for all mechanical locks where the key controlled element directly block the sidebar or fence from moving; if the key controlled element wobbles even a bit while the lock is tensioned, it's correctly set (for now) and you need to re-check after moving other elements. The same method works for DD locks and pin tumblers, too. With pin tumblers the only hard part is not to drop the pins while releasing the tension to move the pins (especially "security" pins). And if you drop pins with pin tumbler lock, just keep doing the same thing again and again. Once you do that many enough times, you'll accidentally lift the pins in the binding order without any thinking, just repeating the same method will be enough.
That works really well! Did you try on lubricated or dirty locks? I can imagine that changes the feedback a lot. Although I expect it still gives very valuable feedback👍
it was an used lock as it is, i did not add oil to it. i dont know the history of that lock. i bought it as it is without key. it does not feel dirty when turning discs.

Your pick intrigues me! Do you have a video or pictures on that specific pick?
in this video that pick is presented in the beginning with the used materials (its the low cost variant) ua-cam.com/video/Sx-Yutn1HU0/v-deo.html

oliko piezosta apua? ainaki isommissa lemeneissä ja abuksissa tuntuu olevan paljonkin ääni eroa
pitäisi tutkia enempi ja vaatisi varmaan jonkun fft-tyylisen äänisignaalin analyysin että voisi äänestä erottaa onko true vai false gate.
@@idanhurja saatais olla pari ideaa millä jalostella...
Awesome picking, pick and lock. I've been considering a contact mic for a while.
thanks! maybe using contact mic could identify true and false gates
I like it!!! Great picking!
