took me months to realize that "tenet" is referring to the final mission (ten forward and backward, referring to the regular and inverted team's synchronized ten-minute timers)
It’s also referring to the codeword that the protagonist is given. It’s also a reference to the fact that the difference between the protagonist and the antagonist is that the protagonist has belief (a tenet) in a world outside of himself.
@@rooman_zahid10 Definitely sucks, but at least those in the areas where it's playing in 15/70 will for sure be out to support it, and hopefully the film technicians called out for this gig + Dune Part 2 will appreciate the drive it's sustaining for the format after Oppenheimer
Tenet was absolutely amazing, the opening sequence alone was so epic, I remember watching it in cinemas back during the Covid-19 pandemic, happy more people will get the chance to watch it who missed it back then.
@@VariTimo It's a perfect summation of all the concepts of the film distilled into one shot. Andrew Jackson gave an interview explaining how they pulled it off, and why it was the biggest VFX/practical effect in the entire film.
I saw this masterpiece in 2020 in one of the few counties of my state allowed to open a movie theater. It's worth seeing in IMAX. Even if you've seen it on streaming.
Agreed. Saw it on streaming once and already loved it, but I saw it in the cinema on 70mm last night and it was AMAZING. Nolan's movie are meant for the cinema.
@@purefoldnz3070Even disregarding the narrative experience, the visual experience is a _treat_ on 1570. Not only is everything sharper on the scenes shot with that film, the film takes full advantage of the full IMAX frame every time it’s used. We need more action movies shot with 1570.

I had the luck to see it yesterday on 70mm because my local cinema has a Nolan special going on right now. Only saw it once on my TV before. And boy howdy was it amazing to see it on the big screen, the vibes are impeccable. Highly recommend. (Just don't try to make sense of it too hard, let the flow sweep you away and enjoy the ride.)
Love this. But I desperately wish they remastered the sound balancing. In theaters it was turned up so high to hear the dialogue, but bullets were painfully loud…
COVID did this masterpiece dirty. Would love to see this IMAX if it comes up near me. OST and Background Score of the film takes this to a whole another level in theatres.
Saw this with my buddy a week after it opened and we were literally the only ones in the theater. I remember being able to talk out the plot with him at full volume. It was a crazy experience having a theater all to yourself for a Christopher Nolan film.
This is my favorite movie of all time I have seen it around 6-7 times already, I love the score, I am going to drive almost 3 hours to the nearest IMAX theater to see it the way it was meant to be seen, or else I know I will regret it because of how much I love this movie
Christopher Nolan made it like that on purpose. It's supposed to be unintelligible or hard to understand their dialogue because he wants the film to be more immersive and engaging. It also requires multiple rewatches to understand Tenet. You have to ultimately understand and grasp the concept of time inversion to fully comprehend it.
I watched this movie back in 2020 in actual theaters, in IMAX and Dolby. My theater had the spacing between seats back then for social distancing, but didn't have many people since it wasn't a big city theater anyway. But yes, it was open regardless. I really hoped they extend the re-release a bit longer, since most people probably didn't watch this movie in theaters due to the lockdown and theaters being closed.
Considering Tenet is my number one film of all time, people have NO idea how happy this has made me! GO WATCH IT EVERYONE!!! We live in a twilight world!
This movie shouldve been the first to be released under the "same day premieres" tag on cinemas and streaming simoltinously back then, even if Nolan didn't want to. Or at least it shouldve been delayed a year and a half to hit it big at the big office. Nolan is a good director and knows what he's doing (noone is perfect) in every production he does, the pandemic was guilty of the movie's performance when it was released.
Nolan sees streaming as cancer. It would never have occurred. It's even in his current contracts. There is a reason it took forever for Oppenheimer to enter the streaming market.
The one Nolan film that didn't land for me. The inaudible audio in various scenes was a bummer. But I love big movies getting rereleased. More of that please
I saw this for the first time and it immediately jumped into my top 3 Nolan films, so much so i watched it again the next day The Plan by Travis Scott blaring in the speakers when the end credits roll >>>
Tenet was the first movie I saw in the theater’s after covid started. It was confusing, but enjoyable…heightened by my being back in a real theatre, plus the hotness of John David Washington

Thank you Mr. Nolan for releasing Tenet in cinemas during the pandemic, in spite of the financial hit you took. Me and the missus has great time forgetting what was going on outside the IMAX theater, even if it was close to two hours.
Releasing an already released movie is so Tenet
So true LOL
You spelt Tenet backwards..
Would be cool if this version was from Pattisons perspective
@@happzy Yeah tooo cool. The problem its big budget. This movie has fans but very few audience, the reason people are too dumb want spoonfeed plots.

took me a while to realize they happened at the same time with the Protag in different “versions” going fwd/back. 😅
I will never forget seeing this film in 2020 in IMAX. I will definitely be going back to the theater to experience this incredible film again.
The opening opera scene in itself deserves a second watch in 70mm
But it’s not showing in every IMAX theater which sucks
