Unohana unlike the other 4 aged little because of her wonderful moisturizing regiment. Yamamoto was to stubborn to use it and sasakibe followed him blindly. On the other hand ukitake and kyoraku they got older fast because of the booze.
The flashback was more than just a backstory-it was a reflection of Ukitake’s lifelong struggle with his illness, his sense of duty, and the burden of his connection to Mimihagi. The anime really succeeded in portraying the inner turmoil and strength it took for him to offer his life for the greater good. Honestly, it was about time he got this much attention. Now, on the flip side, it’s hard not to wish we had seen this level of detail for other characters. Unohana, for instance, deserved more screen time and a deeper exploration of her backstory. You know, I just thought about something. Aizen really did delight in tormenting Hitsugaya, but what if it's because he sees him as a prodigy, someone just like him when he was that age, and decided to bully him because he joined a side that Aizen despises, something Aizen would never do without a plan to take that side and system down. He let Gin, someone else that's also a child prodigy, join his side at an even younger age, because he saw him as himself, but a version that he really needed to keep a close eye on.
It's always fun and entertaining to watch mr tommo's episodes reviews, and he completely knocked out of the park with the comedy on this episode. the Chad rewrites and soifon's banter was perfect, and actually managed to get various chuckles out of me. Keep the good work mr tommo watching your reviews is as enjoyable as seeing the new bleach episodes
23:50 We have another Uryu Mimihagi connection here. People already mentioned the aspect of "stillness" Uryu being the only Quincy to hold his bow with the right hand and the fact that the Blut on his right hand looked like Mimihagi's eye. And now here we have the red blood drop on the white ground, exactly what was shown when Uryu got stabbed.
As an anime only viewer the intro to this episode was the first time I have really felt like reading the source material was imperative to being able to follow along with the story. Very jarring but thankful for an Ukitake flashback!
The call back to the earlier episode was great. It was wonderful to hear those lines said again. Seeing Aizen again was of course great. And I will admit, you did fool me with your Chad re-write.
Considering the amazing intro. Felt so mythical, mystical and striking. The Dark Arm was perfect name but I think the shot with the fracturing almighty was great cus it means they could in anime show actions that weren’t predicted
I kind of like that they made Ukitake's sacrifice and Aizen's visit take priority over discussing going up to the Royal Palace. Let Ukitake have his episode and save our worlds are falling apart as well as Aizen fanservice, before going up to the royal palace to see what the matter is. I like it better from a story standpoint too, I know those chapters of 613 and 614 will come later, and I honestly think it's for the better.
1) How does Aizen wear clothes? He doesn't. It's an illusion brought by Kyoka Suigetsu 2) How does Aizen walk upon the ground? He doesn't. It's an illusion brought by Kyoka Suigetsu 3) How does Aizen sit upon Chair Sama? Chair Sama allows it
Love the rewrites Tommo, had me crack up and gave me new hope! Hopefully, new chapters will be created in your rewrites!Maybe makes room for your channel just for what if rewrites lol. Love it.
Awesome video as always, but you made me search the mange again for the shiji face. Its kinda evil to say we get the weirdest shinji face and then not show it but I guess that was all part of aizens plan.
Just want to say thank you for pointing out the weird cut of the opening! I literally stopped the ep and went back to the previous because I was SURE I missed a post credit. Then rewatched from the beginning thinking I was just insane. Lol. Gaslighted by Bleach.
People must have loved having Tommo in thier group for group projects in school😂. I think Unohanna not aging has something to do with her proficiency with healing kido.
As always this is what I look forward to each week, keep the great content coming ! I can’t get enough. I can’t wait till Grimmjow makes his entrance hopefully episode 31 maybe? 🤞🏼
Ganju's true plan was to access that 'Bully Maguire' energy and stop Yhwach's Almighty by throwing some dirt in his eyes 😂 also, nah; the Mimigami's relationship with Ukitake is more Symbiotic than parasitic, considering he was in agreement with Mimigami for the entirety of his situation as well as the fact that it acted in a beneficial manner to him for most of his life too.
When I think about the differences between expanding scenes in the 1st half vs. the 2nd. "Bazz-B vs. Shinji" sounds pretty quaint compared to "full Ukitake backstory". So while I want both, I totally understand the choices made when adapting the material. As far as new scenes for Ukitake go though, personally the biggest shame is simply not seeing him actually fight in the 1st invasion. I thought of Aizen undoing some of his own seals was purely a flex and he wanted to taunt Kyoraku, only for Kyoraku to turn it around on him and specifically "undo" the seals Aizen had already broken. Had Aizen played along, hid that he broke some, and kept his mouth shut, he may have gotten more seals undone and Kyoraku would be none the wiser until it was too late. I can't believe Yhwach and Aizen both lost to Chad and Chair-sama respectively in the same episode. Maybe that kido guy with way too much blood can restore them for next episode.
37:21, I'm glad too! I know that Ganju and Chad can't do anything to beat Yhwach, but a least their trying. Better than standing around in the background doing nothing.
the way I see it, the fact that there's rumors in the first place as to mimihagi bestowing blessings, means that ukitake is probably not the first one and wasn't quite the vessel just yet. also in a similar fashion to yhwach, I think mimihagi just gives part of itself to others to halt their ailments if they pray enough to him at the shrine. then further prayers will result in the full kamikake process which is why ukitake had to go back to the shrine and have mimihagi fully transfer inside himself.
I absolutely loved the episode giving more context to Ukitake. Kyōraku is my favorite character and I always felt Ukitake was a character that had so much to offer but never given an opportunity to showcase it. Also the Chad "What Ifs" were HILARIOUS. I absolutely agree, though, that I would rather see him try to do anything to get wrecked than just stand there trembling like in the manga.
I'm so glad that you actually brought up the problem with Aizen's artwork...idk, man, I still love it, and it's still Sexy...but I waited so many years for that specific scene. And I'm just a little dissatisfied. 😢
Man, I am so hyped for episode 30. I got spoiled with the synopsis and holy hell we are in for a ride and there is even more anime exclusive content. Kubo is cooking like crazy with this cour. Ya it's crazy how much kubo is changing things and doing alot of other things.
I liked the depiction of Shunsui and Aizen. It was a perfect showing of Shunsui's personal responsibility as Captain Commander in enlisting Aizen to fix a very dangerous situation. Shunsui's realist pragmatism that flies in the face of Gotei 13's typical 'honor' sets him apart from the others. The interactions was also well done, be it Soifon telling the cold hard truth or everyone involved in the stabalization attempt.
I have to correct you on something i might disagree on. Ukitaie did say that he will "Explain Later" And then we got the flashback. I comprehended it as ( him explaining everything to the others WHILE WE view the flashback. ) So i don't think that everyone in the room were clueless. I mean.. he said he would explain it so i just assumed that he did explain it off-screen.
I totally get that, and I would've thought the exact same thing, except for as I mention in the video, when we return to Ukitake he's still in the middle of his chant - but yeah, it's totally possible he stopped the chant to explain it and then carried it on.
36:50 I was going to make a joke that this was one of the possible futures Yhwach foresaw, but there is no way this future is even a possible future lmao
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that felt Aizen’s entrance and the guard being dumb felt so off. In the manga the guy casually approaches which is what made it terrifying as Aizen just slightly glances back and remarks on it (ALSO Shunsui was YELLING at the guy to get back in the manga!)
Regarding the disappearing fingers, I thought it was like how Starrk/Lillinette killed every regular hollow around them, but faster because of how strong Aizen is and how much reiatsu has built up under the seals. The person's fingers atomized as they entered the space protected by the seals, and once he pulled his arms back in pain and shock, the blood gushed out of the open wounds since it wasn't flowing into Aizen's personal space to be atomized anymore.
Being a big fan of Aizen, i couldn't help but felt like they missed the impact of his big appearance. I thought perhaps my memory served me wrong, or perhaps we all knew it was coming so it didn't hit as hard, so I rewatch and re-read the source material to see if there was any difference in execution. Turns out I preferred the manga appearance more: 1) Aizen appearance was plugged in when all hell was breaking loose upon the 3 worlds, and with ukitake sacrificing himself suddenly in the midst of the confusion that was mostly cut out and replaced by ukitakes back story , I felt like "return of the god" was so perfectly timed. It gave readers like me a moment of "oh wait what". The anime sequence didn't hit as hard as there was a lot less confusion and pace. 2) it was a lot darker in the source material, adding to the sense of suspense compared to the purple lit anime sequence. The panels where Aizen was shown was also less panned out and had more expression. 3) there was missing dialogue and scenes where shunsui was shown almost kneeling down in front of Aizen, a few panels of him with his signature smirking & subtle talk down and instead was replaced by a more neutral expression with an almost normal conversation with shunsui. 4) the part where the finger of the restraining officer melted from Aizen's reiatsu turned into a strange 1 second cut off was a little strange. But i guess the new sequence of his blood vaporising near Aizen made up for it. Overall, I was mildly disappointed at the execution. Thought Kubo's original was genius. Don't get me wrong, Cour 3 had been amazing thus far and ukitake's backstory, along with small character interactions is definitely welcomed but yeah, I can't help but thought Aizen's appearance missed a little.
I really hope the just have Kenpachi or Aizen and give them the reiatsu to build the gate, instead of that bullshit reiatsu booster Mayuri has... Also i hope they keep the whole shooting down the royal palace section with Aizen. That was a sick flex in the manga.

Keep the good work mr tommo watching your reviews is as enjoyable as seeing the new bleach episodes
have to say your the best bleach youtuber i can see your love in your work always so informative
That Izquierda british pronunciation was legendary 😂
Was looking through my subs before taking a bath. Now I have a reason to sit in the bath for an hour. Thank you
Honor to our 13th Squad Guard Captain. The most selfless... and the most kind... of them all.
I'm amused that orihime is believed to have god-like abilities, but we've seen twice in this cour that her powers fail when used on god-like beings
I was honestly waiting for this analysis. I cannot wait for episode 4.
Oh man you got me with the first Chad rewrite but you thought you were slick sneaking in “as the 6 pack of the soul king” 🤣🤣
That got me shocked for a moment there 35:57 😅😅😅. Nice touch 😆😆😆
I've watched for years and you do great work man, you deserve every penny you get from your work.
Chad didn't get the episode memo
He was supposed to use his Dark Right Arm
Considering the amazing intro. Felt so mythical, mystical and striking. The Dark Arm was perfect name but I think the shot with the fracturing almighty was great cus it means they could in anime show actions that weren’t predicted
The Chad rewrite has me dead
I kind of like that they made Ukitake's sacrifice and Aizen's visit take priority over discussing going up to the Royal Palace.
Let Ukitake have his episode and save our worlds are falling apart as well as Aizen fanservice, before going up to the royal palace to see what the matter is. I like it better from a story standpoint too, I know those chapters of 613 and 614 will come later, and I honestly think it's for the better.
Love all your reviews for the anime, cannot wait for the Uryu fight to come this weekend!
55:41 Oh; so basically what you’re saying that Aizen is always naked but uses illusions to appear clothed?!?! I…. Don’t know how to feel about that.
1) How does Aizen wear clothes? He doesn't. It's an illusion brought by Kyoka Suigetsu
2) How does Aizen walk upon the ground? He doesn't. It's an illusion brought by Kyoka Suigetsu
3) How does Aizen sit upon Chair Sama? Chair Sama allows it
Parfume.
Love the rewrites Tommo, had me crack up and gave me new hope! Hopefully, new chapters will be created in your rewrites!Maybe makes room for your channel just for what if rewrites lol. Love it.
Awesome video as always, but you made me search the mange again for the shiji face. Its kinda evil to say we get the weirdest shinji face and then not show it but I guess that was all part of aizens plan.
lmao you actually had me for a moment there with the chad thing, im like when did that happen looooooool
I had a thought today, I don’t think Yama could have gotten Aizen to help them from that chair.
No way Yamamoto was too prideful and rigid.
Love the creative liberties taken in this episode. Didn't see "six pack of the soul king" coming. Had to double take.
As always this is what I look forward to each week, keep the great content coming ! I can’t get enough. I can’t wait till Grimmjow makes his entrance hopefully episode 31 maybe? 🤞🏼
Ganju's true plan was to access that 'Bully Maguire' energy and stop Yhwach's Almighty by throwing some dirt in his eyes 😂
also, nah; the Mimigami's relationship with Ukitake is more Symbiotic than parasitic, considering he was in agreement with Mimigami for the entirety of his situation as well as the fact that it acted in a beneficial manner to him for most of his life too.
What I also didn’t expect is a new Aizen ost 🔥 can’t wait for that to be released if it hasn’t been already
Tommo briefly saw some of the futures rejected by The Almighty there in the middle.
EVERY EPISODE BUTTERS MY BISCUITS 🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥
@@MrTommo2304 I knew you recognized it, i felt like pointing it out anyway. Thanks for the reply. As always, Awesome Review !!
As good as the TYBW manga was, Ukitake's exposition dump back then just wasn't it. So glad they made everything clearer and more concise in the anime.
Seeing the chair made me feel like everything is going to be ok
“As the 6-pack of the Soul King” - had me dying 😂
Turns out I preferred the manga appearance more:
1) Aizen appearance was plugged in when all hell was breaking loose upon the 3 worlds, and with ukitake sacrificing himself suddenly in the midst of the confusion that was mostly cut out and replaced by ukitakes back story , I felt like "return of the god" was so perfectly timed.
Cant wait for ep 30
That Chad rewrite was so fucking funny, I was dying laughing.
"the 6 pack of the Soul King"
I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣
Gotta love Yoruichi "you talkin bout my legs?" Shihouin
No. 1 Bleach channel!
Can't wait for Bleach TYBW: Episode Chad - Super Special Rewrite Edition... should be a thing
