- Luke C (@BallisticAviation ) is talking with Jordan from Meprolight Optics about some of their latest updates to the M22 line of self-illuminated optics, as well as a new Magnifier they've just debuted in 2024. The new MMX3 magnifier is a more compact and more adaptable version of the previous Meprolight 3X magnifier and comes in at a price of about $350 MSRP. Meanwhile, the successor to the M21, the M22, is getting a new light module kit for even more self-illumination options, as well as a new polarizer for use in brightly lit environments.

I love all these interviews with Handon Berrera
Gimli*
Lol
Did he win the Presidency?
Hahaha
He looks so familiar....?
A red dot without batteries sounded great... until I heard all the downsides that are then re-solved with batteries! 🙃
Its great seeing this thing get the update it deserves. I was playing with getting an M21 but it was so outdated. I’ll still wait on reviews and initial debugging but I will likely get one for my X95
Hope you pick one up and tell us how you like it!
Interesting is definitely a word for it
As someone who's had an M21 for a couple years, I would like to make a couple comments on it.
As an outdoor optic it's fantastic. I regularly shoot out in the deserts of Utah and in broad daylight, I favor that optic over a red dot. But washout is a real concern, it is not an optic I would use for home defense. At home, in the dark, it washes out too easily if i turn on my WML
I have tried an LED attachment to the optic, a third party accessory called the REM21. It works fine, at the brightest setting it gets the optic red dot bright, but it's bulky and I'm not all that into how many settings it has for brightness. I think a 3 setting brightness is the way to go, keep it simple.
Speaking of bulky, the M21 is also quite bulky and I like it for that. I like how it takes up so much rail space I'm not looking at bare rails, which peeves me a little bit but thats a personal issue. Not a big fan of how they shrunk the optic, but I understand I'm the outlier here. I do appreciate how tanky and beefy the M21 is though. I've been rough and careless in treating optics, and I've yet to make a scratch in the M21, whereas I've dented the housing on my Sig Romeo optics.
I think the M21/M22 have their place, it's not a replacement for a red dot optic but if you're looking for a hassle free optic for a gun you're gonna be shooting outdoors all the time, it's definitely a good optic for that. Its use case is much more limited than red dots, but when you have a use case for it, it really does shine and offer a lot.
Always a fun time with TFB!
I held one of these in the store… couldn’t even see the reticle hardly and when I looked out the front window of the store it completely disappeared. Go into a store and actually hold one - you’ll see I’m not lying. I really was about to buy this thing and just handed it back to the guy.
Maybe I missed it, but does that magnifier use its own footprint, or is it compatible with other brand's mounts?
It works with unity mounts and such I think copies eotech
Any company that uses their own proprietary footprint is a dildo. So I hope it's standard.
It's a carbon copy of the vortex micro3x, so I'm certain works with all the stuff the vortex can use.
It's compatible with Unity mounts.
@@meprolight_1990 Fantastic, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I assume that includes the MMX4 as well?
Take stuff!
What is it with good products with meh mounts? That QR Lever on the mm3x magnifier stands out saying: Might snag on something, will break if you play your cards right. Looks like the lever started on a bike. If the push to flip feature is gone, change your website to reflect that.
Made for the tavor/x95 platform. Feels great on those and weird on everything else.
is there a cover with the light, so it doesn't give you away at night?
Love my M21 with polarizer and light module, glad to see this update and I'll probably pick one up when they go on sale!
If you have a Tavor/X95 this or the Meprolight RDS is the way to go as an EOTech EXPS will sit a bit too low for comfort.
Perfect pair!
Buy an inferior product .... because you dont know that risers exist ?
@@meprolight_1990 I have the RDS and it’s an underrated optic. I’ll have to try the M22 in the future!
@@meprolight_1990 thanks, need to get my hands on one!
I really want one with the polarizer
Just do it.
@@meprolight_1990 Maybe I will!
Will it come with a rem illuminator
The Light Module will be available soon!
I wish the optic was flipped so it faced the other way and have that eotech look
a great very interesting video and products.have a good one the tfbtv crew.
Are these imported from the island of Meepos? Is Balki a co-owner?
Don't be ridiculos
The M22 is made in Israel.
2032 is not an odd size it's a normal watch battery and also in most key fobs. Just about every store in the USA has them.
Yay!!! Another video without James 😢
I just wish that it didn’t look like it was retrofitted to be able to mount on pic rail looks goofy lol
I liked the M21 but it is outdated.
I bought an m22 in hopes it would be better than my two m21s, nope. It is not usable in a house setting with window curtaines open or closed. That's the same issue as the m21s but i already had led light kits on those. It looks really cool though and lights up well outside. For my eyes, its reticle was not really any more clearer than my m21s. I ended up returning it to opticsplanet.
I have very poor impulse control
Always watch these and then I'll get my rifle and think man everything I have is crap.. and always one of the batteries is dead in something
And damn then there's the price... More than I have invested in the whole rifle
Get a good set of irons and your gucci my guy@lynch6642
Maybe a PA prism optic or something is for you
@@Hiddencomment007 Oh man, I got mine rigged out... Between my flashlight and my laser dots and my laser sight, I bet I'm running four different size batteries... My magnification sight, Got under mount and right and left side backup sights.... Got me a Chinese fuel filter... My 7 and 1/2 inch PSA went from 4 lb to 12 with all the crap I got on it... 40 mm grenade launcher 12 gauge with a bipod..
It's sex
Don't have to worry about dead batteries with the M22!
4:42 Wow. Three whole brightness settings. It's a cool dot and all, but fiber optic without an etched reticle is just too annoying to deal with honestly even with an option to add battery light to it.
Looking forward to seeing these upgrades in action!
Are they made in Israel, or the Philippines?
At least a few years ago, everything was made in Israel or US, im very confident. Can't say for sure
@@nateb4543 Just picked up a mpo pro s, and it had made in the Philippines on the box. Was shocked to see it, and a little disapointed. The mounting design is suspect.
The M22 is made in Israel.
Maybe things have been so cynically accurate lately, that this is a dumb question..
How does Trijicon, Vortex, Eotech, Meprolight all come out with what seems to be identical 3x magnifiers? Am I safe in assuming they commissioned pretty much from the same factory?
If not, that at least get all their parts from the same places.
And cost WAY too much for a simple 3x with a diopter
optics is all about math and materials. All the math for the optics has more or less been figured out so virtually eveyone comes to the same conclusion in terms of lens size, magnification, etc.
All these new micro magnifiers have dog shit eye relief.
EXACTLY. Longer magnifiers are so much better

Meprolight makes good optics but I believe they are very overpriced for their features (or lack of them). Since they are a strategic industry to Israel and have secure military contracts, I don’t think their prices will go down any time soon.
I haven't looked recently, but yeah I remember seeing a $700+ price on their ancient M21 a while ago...that's wild.
Would love to see purple or blue lit reticles options. Would also be nice for color blind individuals. Not uncommon to have issues with both red & green.
For me at least, CUSTOMER SERVICE is worthless I have Tried on so meny times thrue e mail and phone because of a issue with one of the red dots and never a reply
Worse logistics ever was GWOT and this company
Yes the magnifier is made in China.
The best part is: if he can get a strike for that video, SSSniperwolf can rack up enough strikes to delete her channel in one go
Off brand red dot companies will do anything but make an actually good optic.
These design choices, like why lmfao
Not buying Israeli
Boo hoo
Who would’ve guessed with a name like that.
"Its run by the IDF," is not the flex you think it is. Lost me as a potential customer.

12k in 5 hours on their previous video seems about right. This is the event coverage side channel, not the main one.
