I really enjoyed following you on that train trip. I am 82 years old and when I was 12 I took a trip with my aunt to San Francisco and it brought back so many memories for me. Makes me want to do the trip again haha.

Sad to see this series end, I've enjoyed it a lot. You should put this series on a playlist so we can watch it all again. I think you should stay with getting the rooms if you go on another train adventure nothing more to see if you are in coach, what matters is you being able to sleep good on the train and the room seems like the best option for you. Anyways enjoyed this so much so keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. Don't worry about any haters in the comments, those of us that watch all the time don't care how you say whatever word, just do the best you can and forget all the negativity comments, you are doing a great job and what you do means so much to a lot of us that can't travel for whatever reason, so keep doing what you are doing and we will keep watching!!

Hey carpetbagger I have been a long time watch I came from Flickr days. I wanted to say the 🚆 train videos have been really cool. I hope you do more. I like the idea that you where talking about doing other road trips like the route 66, chose my road trip and the Lincoln hwy ..those were really good ones I love to see more of them as well. Oh in Alabama the drive through museum has grew and cleaned it up alot and added more stuff. You need to check it out when you can. ❤

Thank you for this trip. I sufferer a slight degree of social anxiety, which has kept me from traveling to see what is out there in the world. THEN as I was working up the courage to travel outside of comfort zone, my Father died 18 months ago, leaving me to care for my aging Mother and our home......thus ending my plans to travel anywhere. So, every night now my Mother and I follow your travels. We deeply enjoy you sharing your adventures with everyone who watches your channel. Thank You for everything you choose to show us.

Bus advice: As a longtime pedestrian, I became very familiar with buses. The simplest advice I can give you is to start at a public bus station (you can find those online) and pick another public station near the place you wanna go. Websites sometimes have a map (choose a specific stop/location at this time). During the day, you can normally ask somebody that works at the station for the correct bus # to get to the next station. Here's the trick: When you get on the bus, kindly ask the bus driver to give you a heads up for the specific location/stop you want. They're normally very nice and will oblige. Helps to ride near the front of the bus for this too. Oh! And if they have bus route pamphlets, grab them!

Hi Jacob, I work full time with dreams of retiring and being a van dweller.
I work and have some hours in the evening to watch UA-cam videos. I prayed God would help me find another UA-camr to watch and you showed up on my feed. The description said walk The GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE. What a wonderful video. Thank you so much. I subscribed and every night I can't wait to get home and see where you traveled that day.
I an going to backtrack and see the CA Zephyr trip from Chicago to San Francisco. I am 65 but can't retire yet so I travel through other UA-camrs. I told my friends to watch you. I see you have a Fire in the Hole shirt. I live about 70 miles from Silver Dollar City so I was excited to see your shirt. I will be watching all your videos I can find. I love your enthusiasm and all your knowledge. Keep it up. Go on lots of trips so we can go with you. Ha ha

At 52:25, the two "smokestacks" are part of the WE Energies Valley Power Plant, a small natural-gas-fired co-generation plant (it provides steam to nearby industrial factories and such, as well as generating electricity). It is not part of a tanning factory, but the steam might be used by a nearby tanning facility. There is no smoke coming from the two stacks; that is nearly 100% steam....it is just like the steam/vapor coming from the roofs of houses that use natural gas for their furnaces in winter.

I don’t know about Seattle busses, but the New York subway is pretty easy. You just have to remember to look for the name of the LAST STOP in the direction you’re going in. There will always be two trains, heading towards two different end-of-line stops, which will be labeled on the train and on the signage. Just make sure you know which end-of-line direction has the stop you want to go to and get on that one.

Also wanted to suggest booking the family suite on the train as it allows you to get views from both sides of the train in your room! Loving this series! As for what I'd like to see, I'd LOVE to see you do a train trip across the Canadian Rockies. I think that scenery is supposed to be even better than what you saw this trip!

Just another thought Jacob, it's too late now.. keep a few $5 bills in your pocket for when u travel by rail etc, in order to tip the porter. I realize that the meal is included in your ticket price, but someone delivering meals to your room, certainly deserves a monetary thank you..

Tip if you appreciated their service, sure. We tipped a Red Cap train station porter $20 because he took us and a cart of bags straight onto our train in Washington, hassle free. He didn’t deserve it, “I appreciated him.” He was just doing his job, but he made a big difference to our experience at the station by his own choice of being professional, courteous, efficient. We appreciated his efforts. He didn’t deserve a tip just because he was there, he earned it because he made a memorable difference to our journey that day.😊 And I’ll bet he felt good because he could see how much we appreciated him.

I would love to watch videos of you doing a rail trip all over the new England states this spring. Listening to your narrations in long videos explains things would be wonderful.
