He was distressed, indignant and compassionate about the Athenians' beliefs, but he kept his eyes on the cross to inform his words. He recognized their idols and raised up Jesus as the only true God.

This is so true!!!
In Jesus I see my life! As He is so am I. The Father is the source of everything I need. He is my desire! I worship Him. I find my identity, meaning, value, worth, significance and security in Him and Him only.

Idols is the elephant in most churches, yet little is seriously talked about, or you could call it the "love of the world ".
Thanks for the explanation of Naaman's worship upon his return to Syria. I had never really understood that passage. This is an excellent sermon, very "calorie dense" and enlightening.
Reverend Timothy Keller always digs so much out of the scripture for us. 1st time I’ve heard him announce 4 points not 3 points.

Wow! What an amazing sermon. We all have idols in our lives, some more obvious than others.
Knowing the truth through Christianity and specifically the Gospel
27:20 This is the meaning of the Cross.
40:20 We do everything differently when we are reborn and our minds transformed (Acts 12:2)
43:20 The only way to be free from idols to be be absolutely in love and ravished with Jesus

Oh wow..We are definitely pagans. This story of Paul preaching reminds me of some street preachers today. While preaching the word and having the courage. I see some people come to them and ask them would Jesus come in the public like this? We Christians just keep the gospel to ourselves.
