As much as anything, the story of the relationship between the architect and the owner interested me. The Owners, natives of a large city, took a chance and the architect showed thoughtful and sensitive respect for the owners design brief. The result is an original and beautiful building that has expanded its owner's lives. The owners chose their architect carefully and they extended trust to handle their investment. In return, the architect honored their trust and thought carefully about the owner's sense of space and personal comfort aesthetic and how that could happily marry with the land where the building is located. Lovely for generations.
Never thought I'd fall in love with a geometric concrete house but here I am! I love the views from the inside, looking out to the greenery. In this kind of private neighborhood, it's a good idea to have non-closable windows for a better view of the environment. Thanks for sharing such a lovely home
This is a very intelligent house, and you can really appreciate its architecture. It’s not to my personal taste, but it is incredible, and the important thing is that the owners love it and get so much out of it. Thankyou for this video. You guys always do great work showcasing architecture, allowing us to understand the architect’s view and what the owners get out of it. 👍
Thank you Design Seed what an absolutely stunning home design. I loved the transformation for the family to connect with nature in such a subtle way and the architect deserves the highest praise.
Salute to the architect! Thank you Design Seed for this creative and well thought of design, in every floor of the house it gives purpose for their way of living. More of these concepts in the future. I don't miss any one of your vid as its very informative and always excited to your next feature..from Philippines.
Always love the use of big concrete slabs. Makes for clean lines and almost brutalist type of design. Can't enjoy this video without envy. Amazing home that is beautiful, modern and liveable.
Great sharing by the client and kudos to the architect for taking the bold move in designing this house.. thanks also for providing the English caption for the Mandarin sections.. highly appreciated
Yes. I was a bit confused ... That's what the clients seem to be saying, initially. BUT the open outer shell HAS filled the space in-between with oversized planted landscape. Imagine soaking in that open air bathtub, all the senses, looking up at the sky through leaves. Inferior landscaping (super common in my USA) would actually have set us further apart from the natural landscape. Heightened demarcation, not dynamic integration, the 3 clients report enjoying here! Today's landscape profession has evolved well beyond a typical contractor's limited vision. Too often, these professionals aren't enlisted for residential projects.
The Architect should Respond the Context, which can be adjusted not only the site but also what client's Desire, Dream, and Pain. Window House is an Example and the Result is Amazing.
may i know where is this bungalow located? i am so interested because it is facing reserved forest..love it ...maybe in future i can own such beautiful mansion
It looks like the ‘bird nest house’ to me … I can’t define it as beautiful but weird looking. If I were the owner, I wouldn’t go for this design.. it’s so concrete in a forest hill ! I would go for a design that Would blend in the surrounding landscape so that it looks natural and balance.
I love this red hanging swing (where the owner relaxes by the pool). Where can I buy it? Thanks & best regards from Germany, Jennifer (architecture student)
I'm wondering about the tight budget? tight budget able to come out with the form using bubble deck RC? is bubble deck RC cheapest than the normal RC construction?
love the house....i think i've seen the house before on UA-cam a channel called yit. its Chinese. was impressed then...i still am today. thinking out the box.
There's a catch with concrete major structure, the carbon emissions, a major factor that shall be considered in today's architecture. Sure, the raw language is unparalleled, it is not worth it however to disregard the environment.
@@wanpingchan8362 I am not saying strong earthquake, but only earthquakes for which cases a house still stands. Do not overreact on my question because that does not go beyond proportional thinking.
I honesty tried to approach this with an open mind, but the building is a monstrosity. No fault of the architect as the client had really bad taste. It was clear that this was a missed opportunity to build something outstanding in the plot of land.
this has to be the first project i have seen on your channel that i didnt quite like, but not because it was the architects fault or any fault in the design process. but mainly because the clients were morons.
how freaking difficult would it be to provide English/BM translations on the house owners' (Cantonese?) commentaries ?? Get your office clerks/interns to do this side task, maybe ? Otherwise, edit out the owners' speaking parts, it just doesnt flow
You can click on the CC function on youtube, which will allow you to access multiple language subtitles for your viewing pleasure. We provided subtitles for multiple languages, you just need to click on it =)
Ngl, the only thing thats brilliant is probably the stargazing roof porch at the top.. Its sort of tilted in 30° yet its not flat liked normal RC roof.... But other than that, it looks liked its not finished product especially the origami shell.. it looks liked any retaining wall at any local highway..
for the past 2 centuries design trends are periodically being recycled and reinvented, evident in fashion world, so as in architecture. raw, exposed and unfinished concrete was famous in 1950s and was called brutalist architecture. Many local architects have begun to adapt this into their works, and many corporate and private clients have begun to accept them and appreciate them. the idea is to demonstrate the material in its purest and genuine form, just like Alicia key going make-up free and wishing that everyone can appreciate flaws and natural beauty.😉
This is a very ugly house. I pity the next door neighbour who will have bear the awful look. That mass of concrete is an eyesore and ruins the environment. From which planet did the owner come from?
??? What are you talking about. The owner is Malaysian, why they can't speak their mother tongue language? Even our Malaysia government accept Malaysian chinese speak their own language, who are you to comment here. We don't need to speak English. Korean or Japanese also don't speak English in their own country.
What wrong with the language? Mandarin is common language in Malaysia. Malay is national language, English is 2nd languages and mandarin is common language use among Chinese. What is your problems? This Malaysia youtuber, most chinese malaysian can speak chinese. If you so annoy, leave.
Even Singaporean speak mandarin too. Malaysian not like HK or Taiwan people, try to delete their own culture to please western. Malaysian and Singaporean still respect our own root and culture and language and also respect western culture & language too.

I think it’s great! I love the amount of privacy, along with the retention of the plants… that bathtub looked dreamy!
Love the view of greens viewable from the rooms. What a nature & relax feel.
what a beautiful house! very talented architect and congratulations to the owner! 👍😎

I admire the creativity of the architect

This house is a master piece, love it
Glad design able to bond family appreciation of nature amidst pandemic
With such a beautiful location it is sad that they are not interested in landscapes! But at the end they are happy.

Absolutely Beautiful!
Very complicated and interesting. Like it.
難得的景觀,被森林包圍的房子,非常好的設計
Hello Design Seed, can you please add some episodes that focus in bathroom design? Thanks!
So beautiful , unique and interesting design🥰🥰🥰
Impressive architecture...
Salute to these young architects💖 very nice!
tight budget? damn, impressed with the architect
Lol😂 they said they don’t have a lot of budget to work with 😂😂😂😂
Cost is subjective n defined differently to different groups of ppl 😂😅 lovely home though very nice and unique design elements.
Haha i was shookkkk
Don't have big budget. Builds infinity pool.
this is so inspiring, thankss
好美的設計,這麼漂亮的房子可以養五個老婆。

Unique..😮
好友建築師李誠毅設計的~~以你為榮~~這一家人也太幸福啦!!
*great house* 👍
woow... great design
so beautiful
Remarkable
Beautiful ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤
beautiful house, just one concern, how they manage to deal with bugs that most probably will appear in the long run
Asians always open all the windows, bugs or not, rain or shine, hot or freezing cold.
Indeed. Insects, but also birds, came to mind. If this is tropical, more in the short term.
great design
Magical 😍😍😍😍.
Very nice and it offers protection from bomb blast.
我好奇,屋主採取什麼措施去應對蚊子啊?
how to deal with mosquitoes problem?

漂亮!
Impressive design! 🥰
Music?
May I know where the house is located
It does actually suite the environment even though it is bare concrete.
nice house
wow what does towkay do for a living?
What about security?
same architect who designed the planter box house!
nice
love the house....i think i've seen the house before on UA-cam a channel called yit. its Chinese. was impressed then...i still am today.
thinking out the box.
El uso del hormigón cómo arte.
the irony of not liking nature but buying a piece of land on the hill LOL
Finally 😀
There's a catch with concrete major structure, the carbon emissions, a major factor that shall be considered in today's architecture. Sure, the raw language is unparalleled, it is not worth it however to disregard the environment.
im torn between modern scandanavian farm house or modern malaysian. arghh its soo hard to choose
Just embrace and incorporate those 2. This one isn't akin to Malaysian modernism, its a universal modernist design.
I wonder if this kind of house can stood up even during natural disaster like storm and earthquake?
Malaysia hardly has earthquake, if really happened, even as strong as mountain also can split into two.
@@wanpingchan8362 I am not saying strong earthquake, but only earthquakes for which cases a house still stands. Do not overreact on my question because that does not go beyond proportional thinking.
they can put solar panel on the roof
Caparazón de hormigón para un interior suave y vivo
"We had a really tight budget". Yeah, right...
有钱就可以起大屋子和家人联系,难怪穷人家里关系都不好🤣
The owner Malaysian?.
Yes, i believe so.
I honesty tried to approach this with an open mind, but the building is a monstrosity. No fault of the architect as the client had really bad taste. It was clear that this was a missed opportunity to build something outstanding in the plot of land.
This is their choice, design very subjective
lop u
8.44 It seems like the owner could have killed himself by accident anytime.
Concrete is totally unsustainable and a massive CO2 footprint.
this has to be the first project i have seen on your channel that i didnt quite like, but not because it was the architects fault or any fault in the design process. but mainly because the clients were morons.
the building is unfinished
まだまだ中華の建築は世界的に遅れてるね。

Yes, I agree. The rooftop feature was my favourite.
This is a very ugly house. I pity the next door neighbour who will have bear the awful look. That mass of concrete is an eyesore and ruins the environment. From which planet did the owner come from?
retarded...designer house not for the poor like u.. defined beautiful house? the flat house that u currently living in?
Design very subjective.
Great form and ideology, horrible interiors.
can't either of the owners learn a properly developed language?
??? What are you talking about. The owner is Malaysian, why they can't speak their mother tongue language?
