Yes hopefully. We should be able to stumble through a couple of turns before sidetracking into nostalgic realms of bullshit. lol. Maybe the one special fanatic commander, Terronix Taurini will be ready for you to use. lol.
Wow! Beautiful job. I was on the fence and not sure about getting into this set but I’m sold. If I can do half as good a job as you’ve done, I’m really going to dig building and painting this kit. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.
Thank you very much. If you have the time, do one as a test first before doing the other 2. And for ease of painting definitely do the major pieces separate and then assemble them together carefully. I think if you built the whole model and then went and tried to paint it, you'd rage quit.
Excellent job done on those chariots James! Nice looking horses and great highlights/texture on the fabrics. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Your Chariots are wonderful. A great job in their paint work with a outstanding result, James. A work, which is nice to see. I wish you a good weekend. Greetings, Joachim
Thanks, dude. The Druid figure is a great figure and they give you 3 of him. That's the one of the great things about the Victrix sprues they give you so much more to work with. Hopefully you and Diver can get your early Italian/Latins and some Gauls out for some 400BC ish battles.
Thanks, dude. A few more Gauls before I get to that Egema box... I hope your painter's funk is getting better. I remember being about your age and things just seemed to get on top of me; too much, too fast, no time, no money. Hang in there, dude!
They look superb James. Unfortunately this set came out just after I finished my Celtic army but I really wish I’d have waited a bit and used this set for my chariots. 🙂
Thanks a lot. It took me quite a while to get this set done, but it was fun near the end. I only have the Gallic Warriors by Victrix left to do and then I think I can start focusing on other Ancient armies. I want to get back into doing the Carthaginians, but a lot of the Persian stuff I've been seeing has me drooling. lol
They look fantastic James, i like the naked fanatic chariot the most, what a bad ass. The amount of beard on that shaman, and princess hair is not small..😁👍👏
Cheers, dude. My mojo had returned from the great unknown around the time I started on the last chariot. I've noticed you're putting up some serious quality and quantity too with the LotR game ( I know it has a different name, but I can't remember it now). Good on you , man!
Thank you very much, Cal. They are awesome figures to paint. Victrix is currently the heavyweight champ of figure companies for me now (But I do have a couple of boxes of Perry Naps in the stash, so we'll have to see...)
@@jvcpaints I do like Victrix but feel they are more towards the modelling side than wargaming. The vast majority of my Victrix Naps have missing bayonets as they twang off somewhere. 😞
@@BrushQuill Haven't gone the Victrix Naps route yet, but I agree they are a bit more for modeling than wargaming. Lots of spears and weapons tend to vanish in transport. I've got the Perry Heavy French Cavalry to do and I'm trying to get my Naps skill level up with some infantry first.
Thanks, Gav. I'm loving the ancients recently. I think my mojo hit the wall with a certain WW2 Army that is still 2 or 3 steps away from being finished. Sometimes you just have to change it up to keep it going.
Thanks, Phil. I really have gotten into them lately. I even tried to watch that Vercingetorix movie with Christopher Lambert again, but I can't find it anywhere. lol. I think I've watched every video about the Gauls and Druids on UA-cam. Fascinating people and time.
I can imagine naked guy frothing at the mouth. Need a naked high tattooed decapitating murderer? Call Knoboutix Helvetti. lol. Boudicca came out really good.
If he lost the helmet, you could probably spot this guy by the Crack Mac's LRT platform downtown...taking a dump in a tree planter no doubt. lol "Where are my f'ckin' shoooooooooes?" haha
Thank you very much for your compliment. I appreciate it. As for the colors, I use primarily Americana craft paints ( in North America, you can get them at Michael's craft store), so I've used a bunch of their colors. The white horses would have been a base of French Grey and then built up with a Buttermilk color. The reddy brown horses would have been a Dark Chocolate base then with Burnt Sienna and then a bit of Honey Brown. The other ones I think I started with the same Dark Chocolate and then used a Sable Brown then maybe a bit of Buttermilk into that. I don't have any Vallejo, GW or Army Painter stuff and buy the paints at the local hardware store. I live in the sticks in Japan, so I have to use what I can. Hopefully, this helps. Also, thanks for watching.
Fantastic work, James! How do these stack against the Warlord Gauls/Celts? Bigger, smaller or close enough? Been wanting to get these, but didn't know if it would scale well with Warlord's. Thanks for the great work!
Thank you very much. The Victirx Gauls/Celts are bigger, better sculpted, but a little more fragile in regards to spears and bits. I don't know how they'd look in the same unit, but units of Warlord and units of Victrix mixed on the table look fine. This kit is great value for money because you can make a bunch of command stands out of all the extra bits.
@@jvcpaints that's great to hear. I really need to get this for my Celts. Been wanting a better looking Boudica for a long time. Thanks for the update.
Wicked Awesome 👌
Cheers. They are a great kit to do. Lots of options.
Well done. They look great.
Thank you very much. They were a lot of fun to do and are a great kit.
GReat paintjob on the chariots. I have them also in my hill of possibilities, but hadn´t the time to paint them yet. I think I dig them out now.
Thank you so much! Take your time with them. I did them one at a time to try and get more creative with the next one.
WoW! The army is getting bigger. I hope we can play soon!

A work, which is nice to see. I wish you a good weekend. Greetings, Joachim
Thank you very much. I find the ancients a good break from WW2 and only grey, brown and green.
Stunning James they look amazing mate, sorry i had missed this update
Thanks, Sean. They were a great kit.
Came out nice, holy diver has a couple of these sets. Druid is my fav

Really great chariots James. I do like those victrix chariots.
Thanks, Anthony. The Victrix stuff is a treat to do. I've become a big fan.
Chariots are looking awesome! Great job as always! Excited to see how you do the Carthaginians

Very nice painting!

Thanks. I really got into the last 2 and the mojo came back online. I hope I can keep going through Autumn and winter.
