Guys retire because the WWE is such a grind year in and year out. Always on the road traveling to an event or promoting it. The guys that stay in the business this long do it because they love it. But eventually everyone gets tired and just wants to retire. I think most of the great ones like these guys them do retire on their own terms. Then you have guys like Hogan and Flair who never knew when to quit. It was actually embarassing watching them later in their careers. Kevin Nash is another guy trying to hang on that just doesn't have it anymore.

Kane was such an incredible force. Size, power, agility & even though he spent much of his career not talking he was actually extraordinarily articulate. His promos weren't a half hour of him rambling incessantly in between tired catch phrases. They were straight to the wicked, twisted point & delivered impeccably. But most his career he was unselfishly content to put other guys over. Otherwise we're talking potentially one of the most dominant superstars of all time

You're forgetting one thing. There's weight and then there's deadweight. For example if you lift 500lbs of weights it's lighter than 500lbs of deadweight. Cause it's not rigid like a barbell with weights on it. With deadweight it's moving, shifting, or whatever making it heavier even though it's still 500lbs. And what Cena did was extremely impressive in lifting two behemoths like he did. So I'd say it'd be closer to like lifting 1,000 lbs.
