Even tho I love the deep nuances and plots in AoT all leading to the ending, I really wish we got an ending where they could live a long and happy life. So much so that I'm contemplating writing my own alternate time line fanfic.

Very sad tragic love. But that's what makes it so unique compared to other productions. This is strange because on the one hand it is good, but on the other hand we would like a happier ending for them. But in the cabin version of the ending, Eren also dies in the end due to Ymir's curse. He leaves Mikasa, and is not sure if she would have anywhere to return in this version.
As Mr. Mirror said in the OVA. No matter what world Eren is in, there is always death behind him and it can't be changed. The song when Mikasa sits by the tree near Eren's grave is also sad.

Questo ending è davvero struggente ed emozionante. Li chiamano cartoni, è la solita frase che mi viene in mente...qualunque cosa che viene realizzata che sia un film, un anime, una canzone o una poesia se l'autore riesce a trasmettere nel cuore della gente le emozioni e sentimenti come se fossero reali io quelli li chiamerò sempre capolavori. Isayama è riuscito a creare qualcosa di unico e nn parlo solo della storia in se di AOT che è meravigliosa, ma della storia d'amore fra Eren e Mikasa...una storia d'amore unica che mi ha strappato il cuore dalla tragica fine, lei che nn ha mai rinunciato a credere nel suo amato e lo ha sempre protetto e lui che ha rinunciato a tutto anche la sua vita per lei. Isayama con Eren e Mikasa ci ha insegnato cos'è il vero amore e lo porterò sempre nel cuore e in cuor mio li vedrò sempre assieme sotto quell'albero a giorire del loro amore...invecchiare assieme e avere una vita felice.
