Apparently in my haste, I added $50 instead of $60 to each total investment so they are $10 off of what they should be! Thanks to my amazingly smart followers for letting me know! It doesn't change the end result much at all.
I love daffodils! Years ago, when I got divorced and was very sad, I started buying small bunches of daffodils to put in a vase by my bed. I would wake up to their happy faces and the day would be better. This is my first year planting bulbs lasagna. I planted Foxtrot tulips, Tahiti double and Delnashaugh Daffodils and some Crocus. Sadly, a lot of varieties are not recommended for my area (10b). However, if it goes well, I want to do a whole corner of my patio with different types/sizes of terra cotta and waves of daffodils and tulips.
I hope you have great success with your flowers! ⚘I am going to try a bulb lasagna 🌷this year for the first time. It does give you hope and a reason to get excited in anticipation for spring and a fresh new start. God bless you!!💐😇🙏
This is great information. I am not a flower farmer but I really enjoy when someone can break down the economic side of things in a very simple way. I watch most all your videos and when you do the economic side of flower farming, for whatever reason, I really enjoy it. Keep it up!! You're doing great!!
I found your channel a couple weeks ago and I have been binge watching all your videos! Love your positive energy! Thank you so much for breaking down the profit for spring bulbs. I’ve always wondered about that and it makes so much more sense now!
Simply Bloom - same here. I started about a week or so ago and I'm still binging. Her videos have been a huge inspiration and her humor always put me in the best mood.

Thank you SO much for this post. It was clear, useful, and so much faster than wondering if my projections were anywhere close to reality. I love your channel.
Okay real talk, I LOVE LOVE LOVE tulips. 🌷 Like you, they were once my very favorite flowers. Now the ones I have in my landscape seem to come up great year after year pretty well. However, two years ago I planted 2,000 fancy bulbs in a couple of raised beds. I didn't sell any, I was just experimenting and I gave them away to family and friends. I agree with you, their return rate isn't that great. I am SO diving into daffodils after your recommendation. We didn't plant any bulbs this year because we are re-doing our entire garden, but I am going in on bulbs this Fall. 😍 Thanks for the break down of everything Nicole. 💕
I love them too! I wish they had a better return rate. I'm shying away from mass plantings of them not only for economic reasons but also for environmental ones...I don't know..it feels a bit wasteful. I'm still undecided!
I bought 1000 tulips bulbs for my first year but I planted mine in crates and just moved some of the crates to the high tunnel in hope to have flowers for Valentine’s Day. 🤞
This is my 4th year in my house and i finally planted fall bulbs - from Colorblends, French Blend tulips, Spring Loaded daffodils, trout lilys, and Tommies purple crocus. Can't wait! I already have several shades of iris (favorite) i got from a coworker 3 years ago, and other perennial flowers, and am trying winter sowing this year too! Spring can't come soon enough 🌸
Just planted 125 giant daffodil mixes. Thanks for providing us with this info. I was going to plant tulips also, but I may just hold off this year and see how daffodil sales go in the spring. I watch you all the time and am so inspired by your vlogs. I’m 61 an new to selling bouquets. I sold zinnias at a local garden center this year and loved the process. It’s so amazing to see someone love what you have grown and purchase that product. Thanks again!
Crocuses bloom first in Central KY, zone 6b and they make my heart sing! I planted some tulips for the first time in probably 3 decades (never had good luck with them). Eagerly awaiting them. I moved some narcissus bulbs from a spot where they did not get enough sun. These are very special bulbs; they came from stock that has been in passed down in my family for four generations. My mother’s family always called them “little sisters”; I’m guessing because they have multiple flowers on each bloom stalk. Those are the ones I’m most anxious to see bloom this Spring. (I also planted some of them on my dear momma’s grave). ♥️🌷
Isn't that first burst of spring like magic?!? I love it. I always had "Glory of the Snow" peek out first and loved it so much I added it to my property here!
Were excited for our tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, & allium to come up! We planted close to 600 bulbs total in our yard for the first time. 😄 We can’t wait for Spring! Can’t come soon enough!
I am so excited for the new to me daffodils I planted this fall (210!) Too many to list, but can't wait for the doubles like 'flower surprise' and 'Delnashaugh'. I went with a coral color theme this year. Also planted more alliums, some lillies and a few tulips (that I treat as annuals). Overall, 450 bulbs went in the ground this fall in our little rural garden. Hurry up Spring!!
You crack me up! After reading some of your comments, I'm interested in this place you call "the land of misfit bulbs".... It sounds fun and exciting! Please do a video (or two) in the spring when things come up! I might steal this idea. This year, I bought and planted a couple hundred double tulips (in my dahlia space) and will be digging them up after harvest. (wanting color there while I wait to plant the dahlias, which I bought more dahlias and need to find more room for them, lol)
I didn't have the money to buy bulbs this year 😢 BUT when I do get the money, I WILL be buying gladiolus! I know they're not early spring, but I can't wait to grow them!
Even I could understand the way you explained that! And math is not my best subject. 😛 Thanks for growing such amazing flowers and sharing beautiful pictures with USA, 💕
Very interesting video! I’m not a business but it’s still neat to hear all about all the aspects of your business. Btw I just ordered a FHF mug!! So excited to get it 😊
The garden flower I am looking forward to this spring is the Fritillaria (3 types), but the humble Daffodil is always a joy. It's the national flower of Wales (my home), and seeing vast groups of naturalised native species is incredible. You make such important points about a)investment and b)diversity of this important flower. Keep making videos, you make my day! xxxx
I really want to add some of those for next season(frit) I have Welsh heritage! I did not know daffodil was the National Flower-- this makes sense because my grandmother on my dad's side planted those and she is the where I get Welsh from. Thank you!
When I was 13 years old we moved into a house that had loads of bulbs in the garden. When I started falling in love with gardening the excitement of growing bulbs was like a 5 year old waiting to open Christmas presents! They will always be such a special treat for me! Unfortunately we don't get cold enough for tulips in Cape Town, South Africa, so they never flower quite as well (have tried the freezer and that helped a little). My favourites are daffodils, Dutch irises, Freesias, Chincherinchees, gladioli and ixias (the last four are indigenous to South Africa so that's a bonus). Thanks for the inspirational content! 🤩🤩🤩
I live in NW Washington state where we have an annual Tulip Festival, and it's AMAZING to see miles and miles of fields full of color in spring! I used to think tulips were boring, but I've come to love them and usually put together bouquets for all family members every year. Daffodils, however..... lol. Some of the newer double varieties are nice, but I actually don't really like yellow flowers at all (sorry!) Even marigolds I get in orange or white! P.S. So glad I found your channel! Ive been getting more into gardening the last few years, and would love to grow a cut flower garden. And your goofy humor is infectious! Subscribed :)
Been hot here in Oz but lovely & cool this morning. Ahhh. 😊I saw a photo of Monet's garden with a huge drift of lily flowered tulips & now l really want to plant lots of them. They looked so gorgeous. Just a home gardener.
Awesome topic - relevant for either casual home gardeners or market gardeners! I didn’t care for daffs when I used to see them in the store. Then I planted my first bulbs in Fall 2019 - Geranium, Golden Echo, Yellow Trumpet, Tete a tete - mixed in with assorted hyacinth, muscari, crocus and alliums. When the daffs came up and as they bloomed for MONTHS I saw joy and happiness each time I passed them and when I look back at the pictures now. I now know they have scent - it’s intoxicating I love them. I know there’s a various heights and shapes - and I’m starting to figure out my preferences. And I love that they are rodent and deer resistant and that the naturalize ! I did try tulips for the first time last Fall - ice cream tulips, red Darwin hybrids, and tulip negrita. Daffs and hyacinths are my first love however!
I am so excited! I planted a bunch of gladiator allium and firework allium, corona mix daffodils and white and pink hyacinth bulbs. These will look beautiful with the spring plants i already have, hyacinth, allium, tulips, and other daffodils
Hi, Been enjoying your videos and looking forward to getting out in the garden again..My favorite bulb flower in the spring is Allums I planted 100 .last fall and I am so looking forward to see them surprisingly shoot up in the spring.Until then I’ll keep watching your videos and getting plenty of good idea as I dream about spring.
Very informative. Thanks for sharing. I have some daffodils that were the first bulbs I planted in 1982 and they do not fail to come back every year. They do not even get fertilized. They get whatever I apply to the adjacent plants. I love them. Perhaps next year I'll plant some more.🌾⚘🌿
Excellent budgeting video! I planted Jonquils for the first time this fall, as well as Anemone (blue). They are already shooting up little sprouts, but we’ve had a mild winter this year, even for the San Antonio area. Can’t wait to see the early color in my gardens! Love Tulips, but can’t plant them in the front garden due to the deer population.
I grew ALOT. I'm having a Bulb & Brunch in Long Island Mid Spring. My principal asked me to supply the school with tulips and daffs for Mothers I had no idea on how to price so thank you for th the guide. I will tag you!!!
I just found your channel today and subscribed!! I enjoy your enthusiasm and honesty for your business. I have too much of a flower obsession...and I have a lot of daffodils and still can't get enough. I have mostly fancy shmansy ones. I prefer daffodils because of the SCENT, and the fact that the deer won't touch them! Tulips, rarely make it here, and like you said, they're not that reliable...I didn't realize that cutting them could effect their blooms the following year(s). I can grow dafs and hyacinths like nobody's business (no pun intended).
Thank you for the great information! I am wanting to do a large planting of daffodils to sell from our small wheat and hay farm. I love tulips but the gophers love them more. I also did not know about pulling the bulb for the best lasting bloom. Incredible information. I have not found where to buy 1,000 daffodil bulbs at a price like you are quoting. Are you able to please share where to purchase daffodil bulbs? Thank you!
I've always loved tulips so much as a first sign of spring. But I did opt for more daffodils this year. I can't wait to see all the pretty stuff blooming in your garden!
Always been a huge fan of 🌷 This is my first year planting Daffodils. I saw a Boaz Daffodil that looks to be almost orange in color in a Breck’s catalog and that made me want to give them a try. So now I have probably eight different types planted, can’t wait to see them all.
Hi Nicole, the Dutch Iris are my favourite, and here in UK they will flower year after year, just like the daffy. I thought we had had it cold, it had got down to -5c last night! Thankfully, where I live in UK we have had no snow at all, so all the bulbs are peeping through the soil to say hello. We don’t grow on a big enough scale to have room for tulips and daffodils to sell, so the ones we grow are for our own indulgence. I’ve had the paperwhite narcissus flowering in a pot, in a sheltered spot outside since mid December!
Hi there, I’m not a flower farmer but I still find these costing videos so interesting. Makes me realise what it takes to be one, plus you are so fun and interesting to watch, so thanks for sharing. I only planted tulips this year ... don’t have a single daffodil. However, seeing your beautiful pictures makes me wonder why on earth do I not have daffodils!!! So they will be on my planting list this Autumn 😍
I’m most excited about the gladiator allium bulbs I planted in fall... no sign of them yet though! Also the snakes head fritillarybulbs I planted are going to AMAZING I LOVE THE WOODLAND FLOWERS!!!
Great video!! Great point on not wasting the money fertilizing the bulbs you're only going to have in the ground one year. I wish minimum wage was $15 an hour! 😄
@@FlowerHillFarm Oh I feel stupid!! I forgot it varied by state!! But Wow! Ours is only $7.25!!! & let me tell you, it's not enough! There is not a home (or apt) around for less than $1000 a month. Even for a 1 bedroom. And anyone with kids, like me, that needs 2-3 br, you're looking at $1400-1800 a month minimum. (& that's for something in a trashy, run down neighborhood!) So minimum wage doesn't even cover a months rent around here! I'm lucky to make a better wage than that, now, but for nany years I had to live with roommates 😒 just to have enough money leftover for gas to get to work, food, & cell phone bill! I used to think it was ridiculous how long many women were on food stamps, public housing, etc. & didn't work (Like from the time they have their first kids, til their 2nd, 3rd kids are in middle school, high school...) but now that I'm older I see why! There's no way to pay rent, pay for food, utilities, gas, etc. with 2- 3 kids. If you make $0.25 over minimum wage ($7.50) you're not eligible for any assistance- (food stamps) so you pretty much have to be making $15+/hour, or live off the government, and most people have trouble finding a job starting out at that wage, so they just stay on government assistance.... most people aren't willing to work 40 hours a week, & live with a roommate for a couple years until they work their way up the ladder & are able to afford living on their own... which in a way I understand... I just can't stand living with people! Lol. They recently made it a requirement to at least "search" for a job 1x a week (full of 1 application a week) & the people at the food stamp office will tell you "you don't really have to, we don't have the manpower to verify it" (They've told 3 people I know that!?!) SMH.
I can't wait for spring! I planted a variety of fancy daffodils in the fall but I'm really excited to see my trout lilies. I've never seen them before and I planted 25 in my Hosta bed just to try them.
I don’t really know. I walk past them and there are a lot so I don’t know which was the same as the day before. It would be nice to know how long they last!
I bought like 150 early bloomers this year. A mix of dwarf daffodils, pink grape hyacinth, snowbells and crocus. I put some around beds I can see, like from my office window. But the lions share are scattered through my lawn. I cant wait for the tiny pops of spring here and there.
I'm looking forward to the tulips and paperwhites I dug up from my uncles house and planted here last year. He is 96 and has grown tulips most of his life.
Snow in April? I'm in the southern tier (Belfast, NY), zone 5a and we get snow in May. It was 42 degrees last year on Memorial day weekend.. This was a great video, very well done.
Love you Nicole! Thank you for such valuable information!! I would love to know what flowers you direct sow and what flowers you plant under grow lights.
This is my first year to find you so I am excited to follow you on the journey! I love daffodils. i can't wait until mine bloom. I'm in 6B. Have you ever tried/had success with digging up your tulips and replanting? Such a beautiful flower to only last one season. Love your channel!!
@@FlowerHillFarm so funny you say that! It was always there but is only just now showing up..... we were out in UA-cam jail....😂 someone reported our channel as”explicit” LOL After we uploaded today our name popped up. So weird. 🤪 Keep being amazing Nicole!
Great explanation! I am Pretty new to bulbs. You and Laura (@gardenanswers) are my inspiration. I have planted Tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, hyacinth and allium! Hope they all bloom🤞🏼
It doesn't get cold enough where I live for the bulbs so I have to force them in the refrigerator. I would have to have several fridges to do that many bulbs! Thanks for this lesson though. Great information!
Oh, lol so here's what bulbs I planted......I went to my local grocery store (s) after Easter last year when they reduced their Daffodils to one dollar a pot!!! I bought all the pots!! I see them poking their heads up already!! I also went to Tractor Supply and hit a sale there on Daffodils. So we'll see!! 😬
One day I’ll be able to purchase bulbs for spring blooms but I’m still working towards that step! Fortunately I have a Sweet neighbor who divides her daffodils and shares them with me! She said they are actually “Jonquils” but they bloom about the same time as daffs and I think have a bit smaller of a flower
You're so pretty when you're wearing your Big Business Hat 👒 💛 (just so you'll know - the yellow heart was in reference to the Daffs. 💛💛💛💛💛💛) Who are MY personal favs... ! Once again, Good Vid 👍
@@FlowerHillFarm Do you dream of walking thru fields of Daffodils on a crisp Spring morning? I do... Oh wait ! You're going to HAVE that field aren't you!!! No, here's the diff - in my field, there's no working allowed. Just none. Just lay down amongst the Daffs, indulge in the wine and cheese picnic that Geeves has already prepared... ahhhhhhh... Thanks Geeves... 💛
Thank you for your transparency, it is incredibly helpful! I am new to selling flowers just this year and so much to learn. Do you design daffodil bouquets by themselves?
I change up the color scheme of my tulips every year so it's always exciting to see what that spring will bring. This year I have switched almost exclusively to double tulips so I'm really anxious to see what it'll all look like.
I added SO many different colors this year too. So exciting. Double tulips I found a little more difficult to figure out when they were ready to harvest. I cut a few too early. Lesson learned!
Nicole when you pulled up those beautiful tulip, do you replant it back in the ground in the fall or in the Spring. Does it ever bloom again or it need to make baby and those baby will bloom.
After harvest, do you plant anything else on the spots of the daffodils? For our farm/garden we are hoping to get 2-3 crops out per bed. Plan to do the turn and burn method with all our beds.
I could, Brad. But I do not. I have the space to just let it die back and forgot about them until next year. I know people do successfully plant annuals over their daffodil bed though.
You have to make sure it’s something with shallow roots. Also probably a good idea it isn’t something that wants a ton of water. You don’t want to be drowning the bulbs underneath.
Here in England we have Tulip festivals in many different Castles and manner houses and they are absolutely incredible. Any way, after festivals finished most of tulips are transplanted in meadows so they could be enjoyed again. 🤩 And about daffodils if you leave them in the ground for a few years just remember they are going down literally. So prepare to dig deeper than you planted them. 😜
Daffodils!!! Started with about 500 from White Flower Farm 20 years ago. Planted in groups of 10-12. Now after years of dividing it is almost impossible to dig a hole in my yard and not unearth a daffodil clump. Where there were 10, now like 75-100. I wish I could post a picture or video. Residents of our town come by every year just to see the spring daffodil show!
In 2019, I planted 750 tulips in my personal garden, predominantly those that will naturalize and Triumphators (the lily-flowering ones); thinking I was done, only to get another 300 in the mail, which I had forgotten about. Not having a plan to sell bouquets last fall, l took a pass on more bulbs. Try sticking 1,050 bulbs in an already heavily planted 1/10 acre (with a house)! Flower amnesia. Being zone 4a, perennials have to be a big part of it. I found an Allium obliquum (tall stalks, evergreen foliage, lime yellow flower heads) seed on GeoSeeds so I am anxious for them to sprout. Allium 'Millenium', 'Summer Beauty' and the those with the evergreen/good foliage could be great bouquet additions (I have a lot of 'Summer Beauty'). As for this spring, Spanish bluebells, or wood hyacinths. They are on the shorter side for a cut flower at about 15"-18", but am hoping they continue to naturalize.
I watched your tulips videos but I can't seem to find the process you take to rehydrate tulips after you pulled them up and have been siting in the refrigerator and are ready to use them. I have a few dozen tulips sitting in my refrigerator. When I'm ready to use them do i cut off the bulb and put them in water or do I have to put them in water with bulb still attached? Thanks Nicole!!! Your amazing!
Apparently in my haste, I added $50 instead of $60 to each total investment so they are $10 off of what they should be! Thanks to my amazingly smart followers for letting me know! It doesn't change the end result much at all.

You're' welcome, Anthony! Thanks for sharing
Ooooooo I planted 500 of the lily ones Diane. I can't wait! You should definitely add some to your landscape.
They bring such joy! I can’t wait 😀
I’m a beekeeper so planted wolfs bane and other early bulbs. Also super happy to not see mid video ad rolls. Thanks for that.
I love bees! I'm not sure about the mid-rolls...UA-cam just does it's thing- I never mess with the ads. Wolf's Bane is so interesting!
So grateful for your Videos 🙏
Such fun😊
Greetings from Germany
I am so excited! I planted a bunch of gladiator allium and firework allium, corona mix daffodils and white and pink hyacinth bulbs. These will look beautiful with the spring plants i already have, hyacinth, allium, tulips, and other daffodils
That is awesome!
Dreaming is the best part, Barb!
Very informative. Thanks for sharing. I have some daffodils that were the first bulbs I planted in 1982 and they do not fail to come back every year. They do not even get fertilized. They get whatever I apply to the adjacent plants. I love them. Perhaps next year I'll plant some more.🌾⚘🌿
Amazing Maria! Thanks for sharing!
We crated our tulips this year in zone 8a Ga, hoping to have them blooming for Valentine's day
Best of luck! That would be great
I just found you on Instagram! I'm so excited about seeing everything blooming in your garden and mine :)
Yay! Thank you!
People always act like Wisconsin is the coldest but we are definitely not!! So excited for this video.
It's pretty frigid here LOL
Excellent budgeting video! I planted Jonquils for the first time this fall, as well as Anemone (blue). They are already shooting up little sprouts, but we’ve had a mild winter this year, even for the San Antonio area. Can’t wait to see the early color in my gardens! Love Tulips, but can’t plant them in the front garden due to the deer population.
Those darn deer. Serious issues!
I grew ALOT. I'm having a Bulb & Brunch in Long Island Mid Spring. My principal asked me to supply the school with tulips and daffs for Mothers I had no idea on how to price so thank you for th the guide. I will tag you!!!
How fun! Thank you!
Got the tag by the way!
I put in a lot of tulips, alliums, crocus, and some daffs. I can't wait!
The anticipation is killing me!
Thank you!
So much information! Love it! Glad I found your channel!
I’m glad you’re here!
I've always loved tulips so much as a first sign of spring. But I did opt for more daffodils this year. I can't wait to see all the pretty stuff blooming in your garden!
Same here! It will be here before we know it!
Thank you for doing this video, it was very Educational. Appreciated
Glad it was helpful!
Go daffodils, so many varieties, so beautiful!
I love them so much!
Always been a huge fan of 🌷 This is my first year planting Daffodils. I saw a Boaz Daffodil that looks to be almost orange in color in a Breck’s catalog and that made me want to give them a try. So now I have probably eight different types planted, can’t wait to see them all.
Oh yes- that one is SO gorgeous. Definitely on my list.
Queen of The Night is my favorite tulip.
I always thought Feb was the coldest month up here. Your giving me hope! Crossedfingers lol.
January average is 25, Feb is 28, March 37!💐
Hi Nicole, the Dutch Iris are my favourite, and here in UK they will flower year after year, just like the daffy. I thought we had had it cold, it had got down to -5c last night! Thankfully, where I live in UK we have had no snow at all, so all the bulbs are peeping through the soil to say hello.
We don’t grow on a big enough scale to have room for tulips and daffodils to sell, so the ones we grow are for our own indulgence. I’ve had the paperwhite narcissus flowering in a pot, in a sheltered spot outside since mid December!
Yay! I’m looking forward to mine as well. We are definitely a bit frigid right now. Stay warm!
Plant all the daffodils! 💐
Puschkinia and anemone rosea are the spring bulbs I look forward to the most. Not for selling, but just for enjoyment.
Those are lovely!
Love this flowers farming courses!
So glad!
January is usually our coldest days for the winter but not this year. Now it is February 12th and it has been -18 to -25 for the next 3 or 4 days.
I love hyacinths the smell is extraordinary
I’m most excited about the gladiator allium bulbs I planted in fall... no sign of them yet though! Also the snakes head fritillarybulbs I planted are going to AMAZING I LOVE THE WOODLAND FLOWERS!!!
I just planted gladiolus and I wanna do Lily’s hopefully all goes well...love your farm!!
Great video!! Great point on not wasting the money fertilizing the bulbs you're only going to have in the ground one year. I wish minimum wage was $15 an hour! 😄
That's actually what the minimum wage is in New York City. The rest of the state is slowly catching up with increases every year!
I love trout lilies! We have them wild here in the woods. They are part of my nature program when I hike with school groups.
@@FlowerHillFarm Does the bloom last a while?
I don’t really know. I walk past them and there are a lot so I don’t know which was the same as the day before. It would be nice to know how long they last!
I bought like 150 early bloomers this year. A mix of dwarf daffodils, pink grape hyacinth, snowbells and crocus. I put some around beds I can see, like from my office window. But the lions share are scattered through my lawn. I cant wait for the tiny pops of spring here and there.
The BEST thing to see! I mean, other than lilies!
I'm looking forward to the tulips and paperwhites I dug up from my uncles house and planted here last year. He is 96 and has grown tulips most of his life.
Well those are extra special!
I direct seed Bells of Ireland, Larkspur, Delphinium, Cosmos-- bupleurum..bachelor buttons-- more I'm sure.
This is my first year to find you so I am excited to follow you on the journey! I love daffodils. i can't wait until mine bloom. I'm in 6B. Have you ever tried/had success with digging up your tulips and replanting? Such a beautiful flower to only last one season. Love your channel!!
I have thrown quite a few leftover bulbs into a section I call the Land of Misfit Bulbs-- we will see what happens!
Daffodils have always been my favorite spring bulbs
They are so special!
I planted alums and tulips and a whole row of crocus next to our vinyl fence.
That will be lovely!
❤️🌷yes girl break it down for us! I’m totally here for it. 📝✅
YES! You added your last name!
@@FlowerHillFarm so funny you say that! It was always there but is only just now showing up..... we were out in UA-cam jail....😂 someone reported our channel as”explicit” LOL
After we uploaded today our name popped up.
So weird. 🤪 Keep being amazing Nicole!
Planted 100 hyacinth along our cat walk with creeping phlox. Can't wait for the scents of spring!
Ooooooooo Creeping Phlox! Yum
Great explanation! I am Pretty new to bulbs. You and Laura (@gardenanswers) are my inspiration. I have planted Tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, hyacinth and allium! Hope they all bloom🤞🏼
I love following Laura and her amazing family. You are going to have a beautiful spring show!
Never thought about not needing bulbtone for the tulip. I planted 2000 tulips last fall and bulb-toned them all. Lol. Thanks for the tip.
It won't hurt them- but I just don't think you need it for one season. If you plan to let them be, I'm sure it is great for them.
It doesn't get cold enough where I live for the bulbs so I have to force them in the refrigerator. I would have to have several fridges to do that many bulbs! Thanks for this lesson though. Great information!
Oh wow- yes you would!
2024 How did your trench tulips turn out from 2023. Thanks for the info!
That's a great idea!
Oh wow! Love a good deal-
Thanks so much for shering. I look for greater returns on investment, like hardy perennials scrubs that you can propagate by cuttings or divide roots.
Perennials are the best!
Sounds lovely!
Mid 80’s this week in Florida.Spring might be over😧
You're so pretty
when you're wearing
your Big Business Hat 👒
💛
(just so you'll know - the yellow heart was in reference to the Daffs. 💛💛💛💛💛💛)
Who are MY personal favs... !
Once again, Good Vid 👍
Thank you! Some days I have time to pull myself together- some days I do not. LOL They are my favorite too!
@@FlowerHillFarm
Do you dream of walking thru fields of Daffodils on a crisp Spring morning?
I do...
Oh wait !
You're going to HAVE that field aren't you!!!
No, here's the diff -
in my field, there's
no working allowed.
Looking forward to seeing my new Obdam daffodils and giant allium but really, I like them all!
Good choice! It looks heavenly.
Good info
Thanks!
@@FlowerHillFarm perfect. So planting an annual over the daffodils will not harm the bulbs? The plan for us right now is to plan pink baby breath.
You have to make sure it’s something with shallow roots. Also probably a good idea it isn’t something that wants a ton of water. You don’t want to be drowning the bulbs underneath.
@@FlowerHillFarm - would zinnias fit the shallow root, drought tolerant annual category?
Bought a bunch of late blooming double tulips. All in pots because I’ve run out of sunny spots😂🌷
Great idea!!
Here in England we have Tulip festivals in many different Castles and manner houses and they are absolutely incredible. Any way, after festivals finished most of tulips are transplanted in meadows so they could be enjoyed again. 🤩
And about daffodils if you leave them in the ground for a few years just remember they are going down literally. So prepare to dig deeper than you planted them. 😜
I would absolutely love to attend one of those festivals. What a good idea to put them in the Meadows! I love it.
@@FlowerHillFarm you can check Arundel castle website.
Great information!!
Thanks for watching!
Wow! I would love to see that!
Hyacinth bulbs! Love the scent ❤️
I keep forgetting I have those too. Can't wait!
They need a few hours to rehydrate. Cut off bulb.
@@FlowerHillFarm thanks so much! How long do you normally hold them in the refrigerator before using them?
Hmmm 💕 the looks!😃
Thank you!
