Nearly fifty years on we can see what a slippery slope "progress" can be. The interviewer thinks that because some boys know of coarser language, that means it should be on TV. This was the road to our current society in which it is difficult to say "no" to anything, even when it is obviously harmful to some people. The slide is always towards the worst, the bottom, because no one and no behaviour must be stigmatised. Television itself has gone that way.
One can appreciate this as an example of democratic mores, about which Plato, some 2500 years ago, had this to say: "…the father accustoms himself to become like his child and fears his sons, while the son likens himself to his father, and feels neither shame nor fear in front of his parents, so that he may feel free; the metic [foreigner with some rights] becomes the equal of a citizen and the citizen of a metic... . To these…such trifles add up: the teacher…fears his pupils, fawns over, and flatters them, while pupils hold their teachers and overseers in low esteem. Overall, the young copy the elders and contend hotly with them in words and deeds, while the elders, lowering themselves to the level of the young, sate themselves with pleasantries and wit, mimicking the young in order not to look unpleasant and despotic. ….the animals subject to men are much freer here than elsewhere, incredible as that may seem. For really bitches, in keeping with the proverb, become like their mistresses; and horses and asses, having become accustomed to going freely and proudly at all times, keep bumping into passers-by in the streets if they don't step aside; and thus everything becomes stuffed with freedom. the sum total of all these…make the soul of the citizens so soft that, in the presence of the slightest suggestion of serviture, they feel irritated and can't stand it. And in the end…they no longer care for laws, written or unwritten, so as no longer to have anywhere any master." Plato - The Republic

BUlletproof that feminism doesnt work
The young have to have something to rebel against... as long as *I* approve of it.
A reactionary, closed minded, bigoted, stuck up busy body, who thought her opinion and her opinion *alone* should determine how everyone else should be allowed to think, feel and express themselves. She wasn't "strong" she was arrogant; there's a major difference.
The same thing can be said of your comment as it can mine.
Whitehouse: the original Karen.
She was every Karen all at once. She made my blood boil. She complained about everything from Corrie to Grange Hill to Rentaghost, Adam Ant, Miss World etc etc etc
@@johntitor. you seem to be very angry
@@mgrainger3805 As a kid I disliked her a lot. Not angry now. She doesn't exist anymore.
Whilst I disagreed with pretty much everything she said, I admired her. She stood up for what she believed in. And didn't always take herself too seriously.
Hey you, Whitehouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry
🤣🤣

Tipped her hand there... How did she know what was written on the boys lavatory walls?

Damn in the 70s you could on air nobody bitched about it. God I hate this decade
She should have offered Mary a smoke..
Mary knows much more than Jill
She’s actually clever.

Favourite aunt. Witch more like. I wonder if her kids came out of their childhoods in one piece.
The secret sister of Professor Umbridge
There's a likeness.😂
As she takes a drag on her cig. Wow, calling out media
All I see when someone who smokes it's...a smelly person
Smoking was everywhere even in the 70s.
Mary Whitehouse
What a smart troublemaker
She just had to comment and complain didn’t she.

Minge flaps big hairy minge flaps

The Smoking, unbelievable, imagine that today.
I’m more concerned with the 2024 pride parade I had to drive around this past Sunday in San Francisco of which I found out later there were nude men erect in front of children and other unmentionables. But yeah, if you’re concerned about the smoking woman, get past the smoke and see how evil her arguments are. Mary was right. Christians were and are right. This madness will stop eventually but not likely until it’s done so much worse. And in the end, every knee will bow and recognize that Christ is King.
Ha ha, charade you are!
I love that she's smoking. Love it.
She was an old crone
Comedy gold. A hostess smoking weed and wasted. 🤣🤣
