Good idea. They’re maniacs. They’re obsessed. I tried cayenne pepper, but now, I’ve placed the bulbs in planters, and placed those planters inside of an empty quail cage. They’re also eating my irises.
Hi I have many bulbs I want to plant in pots - is it ok to just put the pots in the house and leave near sunny area until spring or should I leave the pot outside and exposed to the cold winter in NY and cover with mulch ? Large pot and likely won’t be able to move once I fill it though without help
@@jeanne819 I like your second idea better. At the end of the day, you want them outside, where they belong, so just start with them there. Mulch is good, too.
This is very helpful! Do you have any after videos so we can see how successful the hyacinth is in growthing throught the two products you demonstrated?
After I planted my tulip plants with flowers for 3 days , all the top part of the tulip plants were eaten by rabbits. The flowers of course are gone too.
My question is I've ordered a bunch of bulbs tulip daffodils lily squall hyacinth allium Basically everything. Can I plant daffodils around tulips to protect the tulips from hungry critters?
Thas great idea, I will do it with my lillies and I just bought tulips bulbs, the squirrels always dig my pots and ate my lillies . Thank you for this video.

Last fall I planted tulips and daffodils, and now half of my tulips were ripped off and eaten by squirrels. And also, some animal keeps ripping off my daffodil's flowers without even eating them. Which animal do you think it might be?
I have a toddler neighbor that did that. I figured that year, the memories for the family were more important. Said toddler is also enamored with a kitty statue and, at Halloween, a zombie baby in my yard.
JieWeston: If you're asking about the names of the other plants that the critters don't really like, I believe she said Daffodils, Fritillaria, Scilla, and Allium
Hi,Nice job, You will get a beautiful garden.very impressive beautiful environment. Thanks for your ideas. Just for who need SEBOSS hardware cloth,1/2,1/4 opening ,19 GA, Hot dip galvanized after welding, double galvanized, strong and sturdy, delicate and beautiful, suitable as gopher wire, protect lawn/garden from all kinds of gophers.
You didn't say the size of the opening on the hardware cloth. Is it 1/2" or 1"? Thanks so much for this. I have been stressing over the squirrels eating my bulbs like they did last year.
These assholes dig up the bulbs even w chicken wire and devastate our garden every year. Infact they take out a bulb, bite it, then leave it on the sidewalk.

I have voles now, Next year I will plant climbing cucumber seeds in a wire basket. Do I need a wire cover over the cucumber Patch Too? Thanks for your help
We keep the squirrels away from our plants by putting some food out for them once in a while, like peanuts or cat food. That does the trick too. The poor fellas, they gotta eat too

The second was a extra good tip I’ll use them both.
Wasn’t sure to use wire mesh or wood boards as I do with my garlic rows.
Thanks so much! You answered all of my questions in one video. Great instructions for a newbie.

I love it! Thanks lady!
Will the tulips that I planted still be able to come up and grow through that hardware cloth? I am concerned it will block the growth.
It depends on the size of the holes: small enough so they can't be pulled out, large enough to allow them to grow through.
Dumb question but do you remove the mesh in the spring? Or will the flowers grow through it?
Great video of valuable info ! Thanks )

She mentioned that it was 1/2 inch hardware cloth (wire) , and 1 inch chicken wire.
If I wanted to plant some parental at the same place, am I able to remove the wire after the flowering?
Shih-hui Wu I would t they will eat the bulb at any time. Keep them protected.

Get some kitty cats
dick sdan Thanks for the tip!
Lol...NOTHING...ABSOLUTELY NO ANIMAL CATCHES SQUIRRELS...ESPECIALLY A WELL.FED.CAT.
Cats just sleeps while they devour lilies. Maybe dogs are good for hunting not cats
