I binge-watched all of your videos over the weekend, and they completely changed my outlook on crypto because of the parallels you've drawn between the present crypto market and financial bubbles of the past, as well as the trends that typically facilitate the public's mass adoption of previously disregarded innovations. Centralized exchanges offer benefits eg ability to use margin. Easier liquidity to rebalance positions, etc. The risk of getting hacked is miniscule if you look at it from a percentage basis.

Hi Nate. I always love your videos. I was wondering about what you mentioned about cold storage paper wallets. Do you mean that If I set up a wallet like exodus, fund it, then uninstall the software that the passphrase alone is the cold storage wallet? I also wanted to add a tip to your viewers that they research how to do a SHA256 checksum on the developer file for installing hot wallets they download prior to funding. Again as always great video. So about the paper wallets, back in 2017, I think a few people used paper wallets since hardware wallets was not so well known back then. You can generate a paper wallet yourself actually, see here: www.gemini.com/cryptopedia/paper-wallet-generator-cold-storage Its basically your private key, public key and seed phrases written down on a paper with a QR code. I wouldn't recommend doing it if you don't know what your doing. Ok yea, you mean to check the hot wallets before sending funds to it?
I am not convinced that centralized exchanges are so risky. It's basically paranoia. I have never had any issues keeping funds with centralized entities eg banks or stock brokerages. But I am in the USA so maybe other countries have risks that I don't know about.

How long should nano ledger xs last before they break or need to replace them.
They are pretty sturdy, the outer shell is steel. I think as long as you keep it safe, they will last a couple years. Just take care of it.
