I think this video makes the customer appreciate mechanic's ability, strength and knowledge of tire replacement. I watched this video while my pickup truck was getting 4 new tires 😅
I spent a lot of time as an aviation tire tech among other aviation jobs. And the way this was approached has me shouting at the screen “You’re Wrong!”
100% crew is probably short staffed, So it's hard to maintain a clean shop, when your greeting customers and doing your job right. The correct way. No comebacks. Comebacks for loyal customers sir.
Imagine the customer being there and seeing the dude slashing the tires. I get that there the used tires but where I work people sometime want their old tires back to keep them for a spare.
i saw a couple issues that wouldn’t fly at my shop, 1: You always rebuild the stem, 2: Dont stab the tires because some customers keep the old ones, 3: Buff the hubs
That wouldn’t fly in my shop 1) never replace the stem 2) always stab the tire 3) keep the hubs rusty so it can eat the car away 4) never lube the tire
Hope you can help me. What tool is making that really loud sound in the very first couple seconds of this video right when the car is driving in? I live in an apartment and the guy upstairs is using that really loud tool on something he's working on and I need to know the name of that tool. He's also using one it might be the same one that is in the very first few seconds that goes really loud kind of like vrip vrip. I've heard them use them on my tires when I've had my tires changed and it's so incredibly loud that they wear ear protection but I don't know the name of that tool. But I heard it in the like I said the very first 2-3 seconds of your video before you actually came in while the car was driving in.
I’d be mad if I got some nice new wheels and they were scratched because the shop employees were reckless, try not to scrape the wheels and don’t just toss them around.
It depends on wheel size, difficulty of hub caps, and if the wheel needs to be dismounted reversed or wheel facing up. Afterwards, tire needs to be balanced with the proper cone. The balancing can take just as much time as the tire dismounting, mounting process. Every car is different. If he would have worked on a truck, this video would have been longer.
on top of what @asoftstring5533 said, a shop can be really really busy. Even if there's only a few cars in the shop. A tech might be working on two or even three cars at the same time. Things like finding tires and waiting for tires to deflate can take a long time. They also have to inspect other parts of your vehicle to cover their ass in case of liability. They might be required to check your brakes and tires for deformation or wear before they send you out on the road. They have to make sure people are torquing things and inflating things exactly to the manufacture's specifications. Because if you ride down the road 10 minutes and then your brakes go out and you wrap around a pole and die. The courts and your family will immediately go "well he just came for firestone and they said his car was just fine". They want that whole scenario to be avoided in the first place. You'd be surprised how much paperwork goes into changing a tire, or an oil change.

i love how you check the wheel nuts with the torque wrench. They dont do that here in the uk just use air driver
What did he check them for?
to confirm they are tight enough by hand @@MrLiquid323
Which is a pain in the hole to get off on the side of the road😂
@@MrLiquid323 uhhhh, to make sure the wheel nuts are tight so that your wheel doesnt fall off

Good job. I do this for a living myself
My dude dropping ASMR now. Damn
thats a good idea wearing those ear muffs. the loud sounds while doing this job are starting to get to me

If the customer wants the tires back they usually ask for that beforehand and it's written on the paperwork...
Can't find a tire guy? Try offering more than part-time, min-wage.
@gardenstatePR is the hard work more of the physical lifting and mounting ?
@@saywhut2477yes that just making sure to never skip any steps. Things get forgotten all the time
wish we had long-sleeved at my shop.
I've done this before at TAFE and it was easier then inspecting the car underneath. I'd take this job if I got accepted at Bob James lol

Did u see any lube on the beads at all?

@@Luis_slides yea u right fuck my shop
What about the new tpms kits the customer paided for and didnt get replaced?
They are supposed to take those off the bill if they don't need servicing
my question is why do you pop the tires instead of valving it? you can esialy recycle every one of those tires....
If Andrew C would only wear a good pair of gloves. Good job!
i like the machine very clean and the shop
What tire shop is this?

Just a applied for a job as a tech technician at belle tire
Really amazing and exciting video, can you do more videos like this?... With different tyres?...
I believe that tire machine will do up to a 24" rim.
That shop needs good cleaning.

I wanna know why it takes my shop like 2hrs to change 1 tire? 🙁

@@sicksour7791 Oh i didn't know that 😐
Why did he stab the tires? Waste of good tires to just stab it like that.
What the hell are those old tires good for
Why you not use nice tyre in Stepne in extra wheel?? 😅😂
What are those pins for? 3:07
weights to put in the rim to balance the tire
They also have stick on weights aswell. Depending on the type rim you have.
