Could probably pull a ton of bottles out of the large recycling bins that are usually set up around towns. Nice idea!
Yup, but in most places taking things from recycling bins is illegal.
However in this case, they'd probably be fine with it because plastic recycling doesn't make them money.. it's only an expense.
in Germany you get back 25 cent for each plastic bottle you give back. so while it is useful in America, other countries do things against it dozens of years. but great to see that they get useful that way.
That's theft.
@@dogwalker666 yeah, it does sound like it might be illegal in some places. I've never seen anyone here get mad about taking recycling stuff In my area though. I can walk around my cities recycling drop off center and take pretty much anything, plastic, old electronics, etc. The workers will even show you where some types of items might be. I've picked a few decent small 7" LED monitor panels from the e-waste center for a project I had been working on, and all I had to do was solder on some new capacitors to get them back in working order.
To be fair I live in blood-red Tennessee and I'm 99% sure a large majority of our items sent for recycling are just tossed in a burn pit.

I want this setup. I also want a 3d printer now more than ever.
I love that you recycle all of this plastic into so many Amazing things.
You could modify it, by not pulling the plastic strip, but first you pull enough strip to feed it into a reel, that you wrapped it in. Saves pulling effort and saves potential cuts on skin while still beingan powered because you could wind it up by a hand or leg via a pulley system.
I work in batches, the plastic strips take up much less space than the bottles and by doing it by hand I make sure the filament will work
@@function3D you're doing great work.
Eres un genio. Me encanta. Gracias por reutilizar el plástico.
New suscriber! I really like your content and the idea of recycling plastic bottles :) Are you going to make a store of 3D printed objects? It would be a great idea to recicly and ALSO to get some extra money xD
They not only need a store, they need a bottle dropoff too.
@@crisalykaios8216 What is a bottle dropoff? Can you explain xd?
Sorry, English is not my first lenguaje so maybe there are some words that I still don't understand xd
Basically a designated locat where people can take just bottles to, so people like this can easily collect them. And not have to dig around recycle bins or trash cans. Not that it would be a bad idea to take from the trash.
@@crisalykaios8216 Ooohh I see, I have never seem something like that lmao, but those places collect the bottles or they just produce them? (if it's the second, I have probably seem some), because if they produce them it kinda lose the sense, to me it's better if all the bottles he used were from trashcans or used bottles in general).
Anyway thanks, the translator didn't want to cooperate in translating it xDD
The bottles WOULD be from the trash. Just they wouldn't have to go digging for them. The person who uses the bottles could set up set locations for "clean bottles" (not ones guys use to pee in, or people use for various other things, or half empty and so on). Bottles like what I use every day for my cats to keep them from getting crystals in their urine and causing them harm, nothing but water has been in them. So they wouldn't have to clean them. Just collect from designated area/s and do their prep on them and make it into their stuff.
They wouldn't have to do all the extra foot work. And other humans don't have to throw their bottles in the trash, can go straight to people like this
Always wanted to see somebody use a paper cut machine.
Nice work! I'm have been gartheing second hand supplies and planning a project like this for ages! I'm almost ready to get started.
You should just make a drive system winds the material onto a spool that does the work for you. All you'd need is a stand to put an electric motor and spool on and it'll draw the material at the rate you want. All you have to do is cut the bottom off and replace the empty bottles
Parabéns, e o que você faz com o que sobra essa parte de sima?
So cool!! I'm obsessed watching these!!! 🥰🥰😎😎🤩🤩
Suggestion: some kind of mechanism to help you wind it faster… I thought about a drill but a small motor if you know how to use them (I don’t) and the same thing could help you roll it onto the bobbin thingy (I don’t remember the word lmao 😂)
Falta instalar un embobinador directo al cortador de cinta, y ahorrará tiempo
I "invented"a way to make Christmas tree ornaments with the bottle bottoms. Glue two together back to back, glue ribbon around seam, leave enough to make a loop for hanging. The inside can be painted, filled with glitter, cotton, holographic paper, you name it. Enjoy!
NO JUZGUEN SIN VER, HACE COSAS MUY BONITAS, ENTRE A SU PAJINA, Y ES GENIAL. ❤❤❤. NO HABLEN SIN SABER COÑO.
This is an awesome idea, hopefully you can find a way to join strands from multiple bottles together!
