    Warwick is one of the few bass companies where the five string model is more recognizable than the four string one.

RHCP Californication is another relatively easy song. If your dad is going to buy you a thousand dollar bass jsut to learn 10 songs and you haven't learned one youre doing it wrong

    Hi, and yes, in a way you're right. We chose the term "fluorescent" since it's a more general term for material that emits light whoch it absorbed before. And to make sure that also people who are not english native speakers would have it easier to understand. Thanks for watching!

    It's not about "big" or "small" words, it's about using general (more commonly used) terms rather than specific (less commonly used) terms that both describe the same phenomenon. It was not directed towards bass players, but to people who have a different mother tongue than english. Thanks for watching!

    Am I crazy or do the bolt on's sound better!?

    • @CorvetteCoonass
      @CorvetteCoonass 10 років тому +10

      It really depends on the woods used more than anything. The neck joint is crucial however. A bolt on harnesses most of it's tonal energy from the body wood, less from the neck. Whereas a neck thru gets most of it's tonal energy from the neck wood, and less from the body wings. So if a neck thru bass has a maple neck with mahogany wings, it's still going to be fairly bright sounding. A bolt on bass with a Mahogany body and maple neck will be much darker sounding.

    • @BassForever44
      @BassForever44 9 років тому +14

      Got a different point view here: In my experience, the majority of the sound quality is related to pickups and equalizer. Wood does not matter that much, if you got a good set of PUs and an Eq. you can balance that out. Of course I wouldn't go to the extreme of saying that you can make a bass with a crazy material like resin and still sound good with the right PUs either.
      Body and neck material do influence but pickups are the crucial part. You can have "good" woods, and if they don't have decent pickups it will suck, on the other hand, if you got "generic"/average woods like basswood with a good set of PUs, you can be impressed how they will upgrade your overall sound.

    I had one of these left handed. It was very nicely built. I personally thought it sounded like shit, and the balance was WAY bad. Serious neck dive. You wanna slap, get a Stingray. Oh and now that I've watched the video, mine came with a gig bag. Not sure if the seller ripped me off or if that is just how they did it in the early 2k's, but I am never happy with any instrument that has a gig bag at $1k+.

    The Warwick Thumb should be great with any genre, but if you look around you'll see that there's quite a few bass guitarists out there using Thumb basses. Remember, it's all about EQ but the Thumb should definitely help you cut through the mix! No, Warwick did not pay to say this.
