I need a thumb 5. So much love for this bass. It has it all. The tone, the looks the electronics everything You are a amazing player I love your energy. Those licks are killer
Yes mate. You appreciate a good instrument. And finally someone os playing it without “broken speaker fart button” meaning Saturation. Clear tone. Very Warwick, played by a crazy person. Long live that man!
Doesn't come as a surprise to me that you are showcasing this bass after you have showcased he Rick bass. In my opinion the two have someting in common when it comes to their tone. The Warwick 5 string bass also belongs to my favourites. Thanks for sharing
Hey sir, you said something about an articulate voice in your head, I think I have, but if you don't can eventually start to have one? Does it come with time and studying music and playing with a band at least once a two times a week or so? Thank you very much.
Hi Mr. Long, I used to be a fan.. Now I'm an air conditioner.. Bad joke.. Shada kaka.. No on a serious note.. Like C # or something I donno which note exactly sounds serious to you.. But all jokes aside.. Have you ever played Fbass.. Never saw any video of you playing an Fbass... I saw Scott Devine playing Fbass on his channel and boy did it not only sound great but also looked great.. Anyways.. That was my question.. What do you think of Fbasses? 😂Thank you. Enjoy your day. Much love
D 10 is half ive been waiting so long for ypu to tell us what that is lmao I'm only 3 yrs late to the party lol like u say with a smith bass. You can hear a thumb bass and not even look and know, thats a thumb they have their own growl that no other bass has.. you can get a musicman to get that growl almost simular to the thumb
WyvernSkin Hi there! Just to offer my opinion for you. I currently own 2 Warwicks ( Corvette 5 std. and Fortress 4 MasterMan ) and have played or owned others over the years. The "growl" that these basses are known for is an inherent characteristic that is natural to most of Wawicks product line, but more noticeable on some than others. I think the bubinga models with jazz-style pickups have the best or most noticeable midrange "growl." It's produced by adjusting the pickup balance pot. With a "dry" signal through your amp/mixer, start with the balance pot @ the detent position. Then, depending on where, or with what frequencies you want to hear the "growl" the most, pluck, for example, the open A/3rd string. Allow this string to ring-out, then adjust the balance pot gradually forward (neck pickup) until you hear the desired tone and, or "growl" being amplified. If you want a more "toppy", or high-mid tone, repeat the same procedure, except adjust the balance pot gradually rearward from the detent position until you hear the desired tone and, or "growl" being amplified. If your Warwick has a pre-amp with an active/passive switch, I would suggest finding the desired "balance-pot-position" in passive mode, then switch to active mode from there. Assuming, of course, that you want to play in active mode. Also, please keep in mind that I don't mean to generalize this description to be exactly the same on all Warwicks of the same "type" either. There are other factors that can change the way an instrument behaves. Just like Johnny Long's comment in reply to your question. The combination of different pickups, preamps, choice of tonewoods, laminations (relating to neck construction), hardware, & playing style, etc., etc., can affect the overall sounds of any bass. So, I don't know if you are looking to purchase a Warwick, if you already have one, or you're just curious about it, I wanted to put my 2 cents worth of info out there. I truly enjoy playing my "Wicks" and always like to hear the same from others, and since there is always bad info circulating on Al Gore's internet, I wanted to help clear the air. Hope my rambling makes enough sense for you to be useful. #RockOn!!
That’s why I got 4 String Thumb bass 2 months ago . My bass is not too heavy ... zero neck dive and will kick any stingray /fender ass when it come to funk . The tone is massive . Get you a chambered bass that should weigh only 5lbs lmao
I would like if you could explain the difference between a Sadowsky NYC and Metro, they say it is the same and I assure you no the NYC,has a body chamber and the metro solid body, the difference is quite remarkable, your videos are excellent please Also make videos explaining the deficiencies of all the bass you can ,no matter the brand, which is what you don't like.
I had it, too heavy for my back and a strange sound, good hi but, very thin little mid and regular low end, I felt it sounded like a guitar, that's my opinion that's why I sold it. but Kubicki key 5 humbucker and Sadowsky NYC in jazz powerful in everything.
You sound like you don’t know how to eq a bass . Anyone who has a thumb bass that sound like guitar either has messed up amp .... weak battery .... or don’t how to play . Enjoy your Sadowsky and let us enjoy whatever we want play

How to make the Warwick sound more “growly?”
WyvernSkin if it has a mid cut bring it in...if not choose your woods carefully...thats the main factor on theses basses
sir,mid all the way up?i dont have a thumb bass tho
johnny long r those steel strings?

~professional musician?
You'd be fun to jam with.
Nice bass but I don't like placement of the pickups.
*_When you snort a mountain of coke once as a teen and the effects last your entire life._*
Warwicks are Unnecessarily TOO FUCKING HEAVY!!!
I can't hang the thing around my neck for a whole set, let alone THREE!!
