Seriously such a banger of a chorus. The teaser of it was jus the post chorus and I was like “okay okay” and then when the full song dropped and I heard the chorus, I was blown away
I absolutely love this song, Nayeon completely killed it. Listening to it just makes you infinitely happier, so far my absolute favorite summer track. I've read this somewhere else, and I completely agree with it, that this is the most "kpop" sounding song in a while, compared to many more "western" songs. and western style is by no means a necessarily bad thing, but it feels really good and refreshing to hear a sound like this again. The rest of the album doesn't really appeal to me all too much, but POP is on repeat for me rn. 10/10 debut song! One thing I would like to quickly elaborate on is something that PD said in the video: "It's like a Twice song but Nayeon is doing it all on her own". Well, people might not like it, but Nayeon embodies Twice. There have been Twice releases recently without the one or other member, but I doubt it would ever work without Nayeon. So I hope a lot of people who have hated on Nayeon and Jihyo (but especially Nayeon) for having the most lines and screentime, realize now why that is. These two portrait the groups image the best, they have the best voices, they are the best at performing their songs on stage, it just makes sense. Twice is a 9 member group that works very well as that, but nobody can deny that Nayeon (and Jihyo) make Twice into what Twice is, hence their outstanding presence in most of their songs. I am not trying to downplay the contributions any of the other members male to the group, but to make haters see how vital Nayeon and Jihyo are to the group's success, and that these people should be thankful for what they do for the group musically as well as in terms of image instead of hating on them (especially Nayeon).
once you listen to the whole album, you're absolutely going to say that this is one of the best solo debut of all time. what i love about it so much too is the fact that right now a lot of artists are coming out with experimental noise music that's doing it's very best to reinvent the wheel. then here comes nayeon giving a song that radiates a lot of 2nd and 3rd gen kpop vibes standing out from all the other current releases.
yes, the white buildings is at korea! many people tought its on other country but the fact its not ㅋㅋㅋㅋ its so nayeon and its so twice! bubbly and fun, should listen to the mini album too! i love "love countdown" 🥰
Nayeon is the Queen of K-Pop in my opinion. She can sing (so well, I honestly think her voice is such a big part of Twice’s songs catchiness) she can dance she can act and she has an amazing and genuine personality 🤍
I 100% agree with "forgetting" Nayeon is in Twice and this is what they DO. I just think of them as my favorite humans, and it's just an amazing added bonus when I remember they're performers 😂🥰 Nayeon DEFINITELY reminded us what she's capable of.
Nayeon is the first member to have an official solo. This is the title track for an album that also has a song that features Felix which is actually my favorite song of the album. I hope you can check it out!
Oh small correction! Hayden Chapman and Greg Bonnick are LDN Noise, so they did participate in composing the song, not just the arrangement! I love checking song credits, and the team behind Nayeon's Pop! is basically a dream combo I typically would see in SM songs. I cannot wait for Nayeon's listening party, it's definitely one of my fav debut albums! She is just amazing~
So long overdue, Twice as a whole are great, but Nayeon is just the one you always wait to see and hear her sing. She always delivers great vocals, even when she has a few lines. She has been worthy of a solo for so long, finally we can enjoy her talent and hard work as an idol exclusively.
I’m super satisfied with this solo debut, everything is working on her favor, she’s a true born to be idol and her time is doing amazing, I hope we get an listening party on patron because this ep is a no skip for sure!
somehow this song and mv, especially the mv reminded me of 2nd generation kpop. It was so colorful and bubbly. It's really something refreshing in between all female soloist's. cause it gave me that KPOP style kind of music, i fell in love with, when i got into kpop with 2nd gen groups. Nayeon isn't even my Twice bias, but with such fun songs, i can see myself getting her fan of her solo's.
I feel this could be a Twice song but they made it in a way where it’s all Nayeon’s style the whole way through. It would probably sound a little different where they would have to tailor the song to fit each member if it was a Twice song. So proud of Nayeon on her solo debut and looking forward to any other Twice member solos. I enjoyed this song as it’s so Nayeon and the album was really good.
That slow-mo also caught my attention on my first watch. Got me so hyped so early. They also really leaned into the POP theme (Lollipop, balloons, pop-up book style editing, etc.)
Can we all appreciate the jacket she threw in the last scene becoming the apostrophe so instead of it just being her name Im Nayeon it changes to I'm Nayeon!!! it's probably my favorite tiny detail in the video. It really gives her that diva moment from the jacket toss to it's continued placement there during the final chorus. *chef's kiss* brilliant.
I really like your point on 14:08 on the human/ non human hybrid in the creation of kpop idols. I think the media and fans nowadays are continuing to reveal the human side of idols (school bullying, dating scandals) and we slowly forget to appreciate the “non human ness” in idols, that switch of falling into fandom, that one- time moment of falling in love with these idol figures
pop! is like coming back to twice's roots, specifically nayeon's but with the experience they gained along the way. it heavilly reminds me why and how twice got me into their music(and kpop) on the first place. this is the type of twice song i want and got addicted to.
For me it's on par with Taeyeons "I" as like top tier Idol solo debut. The songs have very different vibes but fit the singers so well and are so good and addicting. Only time will tell if Pop! is going to stand the test of time and become as iconic as I tho.
I always love your commentaries whenever there’s a new TWICE release because it’s informative so thank you for making another one for Nayeon’s POP! Everything was beyond amazing. And what you said about Nayeon and TWICE being so accessible it’s easy to forget theyre one of the biggest girl groups to exist is so true. I think that’s one of the major selling points of TWICE. They will make sure you feel valued as a fan. Hope you continue to support our nine amazing girls 🥰
I personally loved Nayeon's solo debut! It reminds me of Lee Hyori's, Hyuna's and Sunmi's solo debuts back in the day. I think she brings a bubbly and refreshing proposal to the current K-pop scene.
This song reminded me of the OG k-pop vibe and the chorus and post chorus pop pop pop is definitely hard carrying the song because damn is it addicting.
SHE DID THAT. this was the best solo debut for sure, and the album it's amazing too, twice have been delivering just great music lately, I'm a happy once
Nayeon literally defines the pop in K-pop with this song!! Literally the standard in the industry!! What an actual queen!! From the outfits to the catchy chorus and choreography they really went in and delivered another classic !! When you mentioned any other big solos I thought of Lisa’s from Blackpink! Two different vibes but she came to mind!
When I watched her mv, I just smiled all the way till the end. I love the song, fits Nayeon so perfectly. We finally have a fun bubble pop song in the 4th gen. I'm also guessing that the solo debut order for the members would by their age order? Oldest to youngest?
I think I could related with how PD feelings. "For a solo debut, I can't say that this is the best solo debut. But I can't say that it isn't." Like... When you heard the song, the chorus especially. It just makes me forget any other song, and enjoy this song to the point I think that this song is so damn good...
*“I think like that kind of a shot is what makes idols look even more idol-like, even more inhuman.”* I don’t even understand how and why, but the fact that PD literally has the same thought as me for the gazillionth time is just INSANE. I literally said, *“Slow-mo is what makes the idols look more like a star.”* and then PD…
okkkkkk you're my new favorite channel that reaction after the music video was exactly me. like i was ready to like it regardless because it's nayeon, but it exceeded my expectations so much. love your deep dives into the producer team.
I'm really happy for Nayeon's success, she deserves it, she was born to be an idol, everything was amazing from the album promotions to the music video, everything seemed perfect she deserved it.
It matched her perfectly! I’ve seen some say it was so Twice but I didn’t see it as Twice, I saw it as Nayeon. I’ve watched her from Sixteen up until now, even their “Time to Twice” vlogs they do it’s just so genuine and true to Nayeon. So so happy for her!
I thought 4:31 were references to her outfits from Cry for Me & Alcohol Free. The veil for CFM and the cute yellow dress with the curly bangs for Alcohol Free and she floats away too!
The fact that she throws her coat in the final chorus on the IM to make it look like I'M NAYEON is just iconic

Of all time? Loool
@@bali8619 I think it should definitely be considered. Less skips than most other solo albums
@@bali8619 oh definitely! Have you listened to the whole album?
Why not just the best the others not even good as this
@@bali8619 YEES? AND BTOB? FLOPPED. NO CHANCE. SHOULD'VE DISBAND
Nayeon is an ace, I really enjoyed your reaction, I'm so happy for nayeon and all the success she has achieved
the vocal
the dance
the catchy music beat
the visual and
14 outfits in less than 3minutes????
SO AMAZING!!!! so proud of my bias!!
Nayeon is literally the Twice's signature voice, She's the center for a reason ❤️
yes, the white buildings is at korea! many people tought its on other country but the fact its not ㅋㅋㅋㅋ its so nayeon and its so twice! bubbly and fun, should listen to the mini album too! i love "love countdown" 🥰
Nayeon is the Queen of K-Pop in my opinion. She can sing (so well, I honestly think her voice is such a big part of Twice’s songs catchiness) she can dance she can act and she has an amazing and genuine personality 🤍
And she has one of, if not, the best aegyo in kPop (only Sunny of SNSD compares) and she’s an acrostic poem genius.
I 100% agree with "forgetting" Nayeon is in Twice and this is what they DO. I just think of them as my favorite humans, and it's just an amazing added bonus when I remember they're performers 😂🥰 Nayeon DEFINITELY reminded us what she's capable of.
I'm obsessed and I can't help it but smile whenever I watched the mv or the performance , this song and nayeon herself lights up my summer break
Nayeon is the first member to have an official solo. This is the title track for an album that also has a song that features Felix which is actually my favorite song of the album. I hope you can check it out!
Yes Nayeon is the first member to make solo debut
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
Lmao I didn’t know they credited themselves differently thank you for the info!
Yeah like the way they credit The Stereotypes too
It is a mix between Bubble Pop and Girl's Day Darling, really good song 💓
And Crayon Pop’s Bar Bar Bar.
Agree with everything u said about the mv and how much it fits twice and nayeon, its so natural yet effortlessly glamorous
One of the first things I notice in The MV was, holy shit! the budget of this must have been crazy!
9:20 I think that's also very much what JYP wants you to think. He wants you to feel like they're just these fun relatable girls. He's great at that.
Like I saw someone saying, this is the kpoppiest kpop-song I've heard in a while and I LOVE IT
I agree that the chorus was really good and worked for Nayeon a lot
Nayeon bringing back the "OG KPOP SOUND" back applause for that
Only became a Kpop and TWICE fan a few weeks back and this was one heck of a solo debut! So cool to witness
Welcome to TWICELAND :-)
welcome to twiceland
this song and mv are literally so fun and nayeon is shining😭 I love it so much
The fact that Nayeon wins her first MAMA Award
That includes Best Female Artist 2022
somehow this song and mv, especially the mv reminded me of 2nd generation kpop.
This music video is incredible
I feel this could be a Twice song but they made it in a way where it’s all Nayeon’s style the whole way through. It would probably sound a little different where they would have to tailor the song to fit each member if it was a Twice song. So proud of Nayeon on her solo debut and looking forward to any other Twice member solos. I enjoyed this song as it’s so Nayeon and the album was really good.
Your video was my most anticipated reaction to Nayeon's debut. I learn so much from your insights. Love Nayeon and your 10/10 reaction to "Pop!" 🎈🎈🎈
The debut is perfect the song is very enjoyable the music production is chief kiss. Loved everything about it ❤
For me it's on par with Taeyeons "I" as like top tier Idol solo debut.
Hope you continue to support our nine amazing girls 🥰
u nailed it, twice feels so relatable and communicates to fans like a friend i love them sm
I personally loved Nayeon's solo debut! It reminds me of Lee Hyori's, Hyuna's and Sunmi's solo debuts back in the day. I think she brings a bubbly and refreshing proposal to the current K-pop scene.
Same! I really thought of hyuna and lee hyori watching the mv for the first time
This song reminded me of the OG k-pop vibe and the chorus and post chorus pop pop pop is definitely hard carrying the song because damn is it addicting.
Only thing i can say, Pop! is a song how Kpop sounds like! Purely bop 💓
It went beyond the hype. It was everything and more 100/10! You MUST do the whole album! All 7 tracks were solid
SHE DID THAT. this was the best solo debut for sure, and the album it's amazing too, twice have been delivering just great music lately, I'm a happy once
This is definitely in the top of best solo's debuts in K-pop. I loved Pop so much, Nayeon really slayed
I like that slo-mo toooooo so glad you’ve mentioned that
I must admit that JYP is the company that best handles cute/refreshing concepts and their artists are the best at interpreting them.
It's like a TWICE song, but can't imagine TWICE members themselves singing it. Like it's really made for Nayeon.
The pool trampoline scene with the synchro swimmers omfg. Huge nod to 50's Hollywood (ie million $ mermaid) and i'm eating it tf up
Nayeon literally defines the pop in K-pop with this song!!
Y'all this is twice's Center, lead vocal, lead singer, FOTG and now soloist: IM NAYEON ❤❤❤
this soloist is freaking great she could literally debut to a group and shine!
I think I could related with how PD feelings.
"For a solo debut, I can't say that this is the best solo debut. But I can't say that it isn't."
Like... When you heard the song, the chorus especially. It just makes me forget any other song, and enjoy this song to the point I think that this song is so damn good...
I love that you talk so much in this video, it makes your review unique and interesting to watch.
Really excited for the album listening party. I really like this album.
I love her dance move in Pop and her outfit too, the red outfit suit her so well!
Yesss blessing us today !!
*“I think like that kind of a shot is what makes idols look even more idol-like, even more inhuman.”*
I don’t even understand how and why, but the fact that PD literally has the same thought as me for the gazillionth time is just INSANE.
POP song of the year!!!! I really really want Nayeon to win best female solo this year!!
this song's gonna be one of THAT songs in kpop
IM NAYEON SET THE STANDARD HIGH ON SOLO DEBUT LIKE WTF
SHE IS A RECORD BREAKING 💕
i do agree it's basically a TWICE song but nayeon do all the parts, which she definitely killing it...
I can't wait for Jordan Orme to react to this mv, especially with Nayeon's hair transition at 3:42! 💙
That's the reason why NAYEON usually starts almost every TWICE title track song.
Her voice is that powerful.
