YESSS I got so happy hearing you speaking up about the ORIGINAL YG feels and mentioning Teddy. I've also been waiting for "YG Family" to return, and this is why I also love Pink Venom so much. Thanks as always for your honest input PD!
For me the chorus really explains the concept of “Pink Venom”. The intro of the song is so strong and then suddenly it will give you an anti drop with their voices projected to be small. It’s very lethal! It gives both a femme fatale and sort of cutesy vibes.
I always love blackpink's hiphop sound like Whistle, Crazy Over You and now Pink venom. I think one of the reason of most people dislike Pink Venom is prolly cuz they're not used to the niche of YG hiphop sounds which is okay, not everyone have to like everything. BUT I LOVE PINK VENOM
but it's YG tho, the hip hop sounds in their songs arent really a niche, did people really not like the song because of that ? I mean ikon, bp, bigbang, 2ne1, mino even treasure sometimes The other reason I've seen is the antidrop that I personally find incredible and broke the rules bp usual drops. It was a genius move to put it on such a big and awaited comeback. And this beatswitch with this 90's beat is pretty good
See, personally, I thought How You Like That got annoying the more I listened to it. This song just gets better and better every time I listen, which I think just shows that you don’t always need a big loud chorus for it to be a good song.
It was great at first but as I listened to it more, it felt very loud and chaos but with this one, I liked how the chorus balances everything and it doesn't feel out of place
Thank you!! I think the same! I loved HYLT at first but then the lyrics of the chorus... and the last part with dun dun dun dun sounds much worse for me. This ending is the most powerful ending of Blackpink titles tracks. Well... It's there with D4 edm ending, that was really good too.
it's honestly so refreshing to see someone openly say they enjoyed pink venom from the first listen, i feel like everytime blackpink releases something people hate on it just because or try to find a really roundabout excuse to say it's bad or that "blinks waited for nothing" when, if you know blackpink's sound, this is a really cool new turn to their music and so incredibly representative of their colors it would obviously please blackpink fans, so thank you for your honest opinion
Or people just didn't like the song? Its like every genre they've ever tried fit into one song and I found it disjointed and frankly extremely lazy. Teddy wrote it over every single beat hes ever made. And the thing is unlike groups that make their own music BP doesn't so its not even an insult to them so at least let people criticise Teddy. Most of us are hoping for him to make more effort for them.
@@vmin96 people are obviously allowed to criticize the song/teddy, my comment was targeted towards those people who hate on the song just because they don't like bp, maybe i wasn't clear enough, but since i saw and still see so much negativity towards anything bp releases and antis write full on fleshed out essays over how "bp don't deserve the success they have", i felt like pd's reaction was a breath of fresh air, that's all i meant
Honestly, their music is just repetitive, the same structure to the song, the same type of pattern. It never changes, they did good with lovesick girls but then again came out with pink venom.
I personally love the chorus, it’s gives that “ooooh that’s different “ vibe, and that was actually my reaction at first listen. It’s sultry and takes u by surprise bcz BP usually does beat drops in choruses. So i actually really liked it since it’s also catchy especially with the choreo. Also the back and forth between jn and Lisa , their tones are very different but also match very well together
@@cradle_n7515 why are you mad that someone else likes it? It’s okey if u don’t but u wouldn’t like me cursing at u just for having a different opinion right? And i like ice cream actually so i don’t see the point

Still doing the same shit aswell !!! so shut up!
Im a blink..and you have been very critical with bp...I was actually scared to see your reaction but seeing you smile while watching it made me feel happy..thank u for your honesty, as always... LOVE YOUR GLASSES
I think ppl didn't give it enough of a chance. They heard the chorus and was like no. But after years of being an Nctizen has made me accustomed to weird and unique songs. So while the chorus was weird to me at first I still liked it and the more I hear it the more I love it. Also that line by Lisa is from Rihanna's debut song.
Bruh! Just admit it! Pink venom is a no goal! Don't have to try hard to like it just to convince others ! It is what it is, the worst comeback for blackpink!
on my first listen i was not expecting the chorus to be an anti drop at all given their track history so it sounded weird to me at first but it immediately grew on me the next time i heard it since i already know what to expect and my goodness that chorus was so catchy! as of this moment, pink venom my favorite blackpink song. i'm excited for what born pink has in store for us.
thats it, blackpink history is full of drop and hardcore intrumentals and catchy lyrics... and now they experimented something new and people had hard feelings for it and bad opinion, but we gotta see the whole thing and give it a try
@@jam4227 damn you're the perfect example of what pd's pertaining to on this video. guess you saw pink venom on the title and deciced to just talk your shit about it lmao poor guy
Completely honest opinion: I loved it after the first listen and fell in love more and more after listening to it. And tbh that is how I was with every single BLACKPINK track so far let it be title tracks, pre-releases or B sides, that's why they're my fave group. I'm really looking forward the album although I wish it was not only 6 new songs.
people are complaining about the fact that it's only 6 new songs. Personally, since The album had also 8 tracks and the quality of all of them was incredible, I don't care if its only 6 new songs if they are going to be excellent quality wise
I love your post. This is exactly me. I'm a Blink based on BP's music. Each song is precious and if I get one track at time, four tracks at time, whether it be yearly or every three years, I don't care. Of course I want more but not at the expense of how they wish to put out their material. My loving BP has nothing do with what other groups do or the frequency at which they do it. If the girls are succeeding with other business pursuits like endorsement deals, acting, etc, I'm all for it! My favorite authors and painters are my favorite because of their books and paintings, however many there are and however long it took to get to me (or me to it). So many K-UA-camrs who take 10 minutes to say something you could say in 1 minute love to sh!t on BP because it's cooler to be critical than just liking stuff.
pd, i literally dropped everything that i was doing when i saw that you’ve finally uploaded your reaction to pink venom. you’re one of the few reactors whom i truly respect their opinion. i am a huge bp stan and i genuinely like pink venom since i am a massive fan of anti drops. i understand why this isn’t some people’s cup of tea but for me, this is by far the most hype i have been for a pre-release. anyway, jisoo and rosé have been credited for a song on their upcoming album so i am really looking forward to your reaction to the full album!! hope you’ll recover fully pd, thanks for uploading this again
It feels like Blackpink is finally having more of their own individual personal style influencing this track/visuals. It sounds less forced then some of their past tracks and it's clear from this video that they have grown really comfortable in their own skin.
I'm with you man. I don't usually keep up with the fandom so I listened to this thinking it was the best thing I've ever heard only to see that most people hate it. I WAS SO SHOCKED.
I do agree. This was THE BLACKPINK song i have been waiting for them to do, ever since debut era. The chorus also balanced everything out. Everything was so intense, and the chorus balanced it out. This is my favorite comeback song ever.
PD is literally the only content creator that I trust when it comes to reactions like this😭. Also looking forward to your reaction to the Album next week. BLACKPINK IS THE REVOLUTION🖤💖
Ignore the comments above, I agree with you, I'm totally hyped for their upcoming album! I feel like I should keep my expectations on a grounded level but I can't help it, I'm just so excited about it lol
This personally feel like the 2nd whistle for me. I've been waiting for that hiphop era of blackpink because i feel like this song really suits everyone in the group. People keep saying rosè and jisoo didn't suit the concept but that's just not true. Both of them are so badass and their tone really suits the group. Its soo cool
Thank you PD for getting the Biggie Smalls "Kick in the Door" reference right away. Most people got the Rihanna "Pon De Replay" reference that Lisa did but I didn't see that many people get the Biggie reference.
I actually liked the chorus from the start as well. The whole song is really Teddy, which obviously many people dislike at this point but that is just Blackpink to me. It is what I am expecting and it is a really great song. Also Jennies rapping was my favourite in this song, she really killed it. As far as I know it is just their video style being the same concept for the last few songs and not a storyline. The only thing I did not like for this song is the editing of the music video. There are sooooo many cuts in here and it feels like you can not really process the shots most of the time because they are gone in the next frame. This made the music video hard to watch for me even though this is their highest MV budget with gorgeous visuals. It is just too cut up for me. I don't know if I am exaggerating but it feels like there are way more cuts in this video than seconds man, that's so annoying to me.
i wouldnt say the fast cuts are bad(they are actually very purposeful to keep the song dynamic hype and energetic). but its kind of a waste for the super amazing expensive and beautiful set to only show them in such a short timeframe haha.
@@MikedieONE I would never be one to say if it was objectively bad. It's just the personal feeling of the cuts being distracting. Personally I really enjoy performance MV's over normal music videos because kpop is just as much the dance as it is the music for me. And for this video I feel like you can not really experience the dance at all because everything is really cut up. I agree that fast cuts can be an artistic choice to achieve a feeling or style but the fast cuts are found throughout the whole video even in parts where the song is not hectic, like the bridge for example.
i'm 100% with you! i was obsessed from the first listen, then i found out people were really not feeling it and i just didn't understand ahhaha. but of course everyone has their own taste. :)
PD I freaking love you and respect your opinion very highly. I’ve been waiting patiently for your reaction! I’m completely with you on your opinion. This was hit instantly for me too! I seriously love it, especially the rap break as well. Cannot WAIT for the album next week omg omg omg!!!
This track slaps damn hard. I've been a fan of BP for a long time, but I'm not crazy Blink fan who obsessed over everything, and think they can do no wrong, but this track was a banger! People who are crapping on this, are doing so just to be "cool". Nah, This track slaps!
I really love how technical you are in giving out reviews. Been following you ever since you started and you haven't uploaded crappy contents ever since. Thank you for your hard work always! Keep it up!
I fell in love with Pink Venom as well. The eerie start and ending of the song and the chorus asre the best parts for me. Guess I just love good anti-drops. Jenlisa rap and the bridge were really strong as well. Love the energy of the song.
I personally love the song! From the moment it started. Everything about the music video was well put together. It was very powerful and very heavy harden They exceeded my expectations. I LOVED THE CHORUS RATE 10/10
i love the chorus, it's super catchy which is what you need for a pre-release after a 2 year hiatus. and it's something so them to pull back and not give you the full blown chorus cos it just feels like the song is being performed on their terms, they're gonna give you the song how they want you to hear it.
people like to set up blackpink for everything, nothing they do will ever be good enough for everyone and i’m tired of even trying to make bp to everyone’s taste. I really like that you liked it pd, and after i listened to their rap part i knew you would love it!!!
I really like Teddy's sound and style, knowing that he also produced the title track makes me so much more hyped for it! That old-school hiphop YG vibe is just my favorite thing
i was waiting on this! this song has been so highly debated, and i always look forward to your opinion, so i was curious as to what you were thinking. thank you for your input! as always.
to answer your question about sequential music videos - that’s never been answered! there are theories, because all the imagery is very similar, especially between hylt, lsg, and pv. but i also think a portion of it is that each girl has very strong branding identities and themes they like to symbolize in the videos.
I loved Pink Venom from the first listen, especially the chorus! I think people are being really unnecessarily critical when it comes to BP songs, but that comes with success in kpop I guess. Can’t wait for the album!!
the way they even used two different huge sets for the final chorus... their biggest budget video yet and you can tell! also, as a fashion nerd, seing jennie hold that coco chanel bird cage in the beginning (while singing "waving that coco") was so awesom i freaked out. the visuals, vashion, the production, its all so good and addictive. also, they performed this at the vmas and that was so cool! seing the taylor and bp interactions was so fun, and im not even a big fan of blackpink
Every time a blackpink video comes out i rewatch Mera's video "Why you can't look away from Blackpink" and i have to hand it to YG the way they have coded each member in terms of colours sets, editing, camerawork and aesthetics, it is second to none. I find that kind of consistency and world building very satisfying, more so than an actual storyline. Something i noticed in pink venom when they broke Rosé's colour coding with the firey coloured tomb setup is that that for each shot they used those colours we would get basically the same shot but with the violet and pink lighting more consistent with her shots. I get why it takes YG so long so give them comebacks, because everything must take bloody ages to put together!
a new viewer here and i just watched a mamamoo reaction vid too before this and i just want to say how im so impressed with your memory. its just an admirable thing for me because it shows how you really take into account the videos you've watched and the artists you react to. more success to you this 2023! happy new year :)
This has become one of my favorite BP songs. At first, I thought the chorus was a bit weird, but after my second listen, I absolutely loved it. Love that switch up to the hip hop style. I don’t know if it’s because BP is my favorite Kpop group, or because I really enjoy aespa’s and NCT’s experimental music, but this song is top tier for me
Glad you’re recovering now. Been waiting for you to react! I really want to hear your thoughts because i really appreciate the fact that you understand YG ent, their work, music and artists. I know your reaction will be insightful. We can learn a lot from it! Looking forward to more BP reaction
One of the things I love most about PD's reaction here is that it has credibility. I still remember when PD was very lukewarm on KTL...and I respected that opinion and PD for calmly and thoughtfully stating why. So if he states he really likes Pink Venom, then you know he really does! As you mentioned, it's sad how many people constantly try to setup BP for failure. There is plenty of room for all groups to have success without tearing each other down. I personally think Teddy & the members don't get enough credit for how brave they are. Is Pink Venom uber revolutionary...maybe not...but what it does well it does EXTREMELY well and it captures how experimental they are with their sound. Let's be honest, in the KPOP world, being experimental can be a death nail. But from the use of booming brass and horns in KTL, to really going hard into the minimal or "anti" drop since The Album, they have consistently tried new things and I respect them for that. I, for one, LOVE the chorus, it's constantly stuck in my head and I LOVE that it doesn't sound like every other kpop chorus out there. Nothing wrong with the "kpop formula" so to speak, but for me personally, it's nice to have something different also! I love the fact that they went hard into the hip-hop sections on this song, like you, it was everything I have always wanted for BP and really shows how dynamic they can be...and from an M/V perspective...I mean...BLACKPINK music videos are ALWAYS spectacles in and of themselves! Looking forward to Shut Down and your reaction when it drops!
Actually, this is my first time hearing an anti drop chorus for a blackpink song. And it SLAPS. I love the song so much. It sounds more like a global pop song.
When I first heard the song Jennie's opening verse killed me, Lisa with Rihanna's pon de replay, loved that, the pre chorus seemed kinda off but it goes with the song ig. I didn't liked the chorus in the first listen, but after hearing it for some time I eventually got obsessed with it, Lisa and Jennie rap duo was the best thing in the mv, the bridge was really smooth, liked that, the dance break was prolly their best with D4 Overall it was a 9/10 Excited for Shut Down!
I was waiting for your reaction and you're the only one I watched the reaction video because you have the sense. All of your opinions really make sense. I always watch your videos especially when it's YG and my favorite artist/idols. Get well soon. Don't be sick. We're waiting for you PD-nim. Thank you for this. I've been waiting for this.
The production of the song is unmatched yet again and the sets are stunning. There’s mixed opinions about the anti-drop chorus but that’s because people were expecting the same empty hard-hitting edm sound as How You Like That and Kill This Love for example. I’m glad Blackpink went in a different direction with the chorus, all the while sticking to their signature sound and concept - a great move for their long awaited comeback single to reintroduce the world to their music and brand. The song has swept charts globally including charting at #1 on Billboard Global 200 for 2 weeks and counting (still the only girl group to enter the Top 10 in history), as well as remaining stable in the Top 2/3 of all Korean charts despite having only been performed once on any music show and not making a single appearance on any variety show. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the biggest girl group in the world and Korea’s representative and most influential girl group!
Personally the editing is a little too choppy for me in parts :( I know they're cutting on the beat but some of the shots are so fast I don't really see them
I actually love the fact that it's such a different song! Back then, I feel like the cadence of D4, KTL, and HYLT are just the same. They sound repetitive. Pink venom has more unique drop in the chorus and I love the production! All the instruments added and most especially the 90s vibe kind of rap. Fire.
I love the song from the start ! The song was cleverly produced , mad respect to the producers. And the girls grew a lot ! They always improved every comeback. Btw, you look really good today!
I enjoyed pink venom so so much, it was a breath of fresh air. This took me to the 90s. I LOVE IT! If you are a second generation sound and the original YG vibe, you will enjoy this too. But is ok if you don't also!.
I also LOVE the chorus. I was sold on the chorus while I was still processing the rest of the song lol. I love the girly twang to the delivery of the lines. I'm singing the chorus around the house all day.
Personally i LOVED this song from the first time i heard it and the knetz loving it just says it all It's a good song. Sonically it's different from any bp release i loved the rock element in it esp in the pre chorus The chanting the beat drop the rap part is literally one of the best blackpink songs
I seriously thought the same thing about the second verse with the '90s hip hop vibe. That sound over the beat completely reminded me of how it used to sound. Along with how they rapped during it. *chef's kiss*
I really love the song that even my neighbors are complaining at me because of how loud the music is but anyways, I think for the most part in the first listen most of us felt not getting the hyped we expected in the chorus however I would just like to emphasize that maybe this is what they are trying to portray... venomous, slowly creeping in our heads. The moment we keep on listening to the song, the chorus becomes catchy even if it's not that head banging. So maybe that's what they're intention from the start. I don't know though, this is just my opinion.
If you've been playing classical music on speakers, your neighbors wouldn't have been complaining. BP is not a group you can just listen through the walls halfway through a song
i really like the song tbh. it's so different from what they did from the past. the first time i heard it i thought the chorus will be like what they've done from the past and then they give us anti drop and also my jaw dropped tge moment i heard it and made me jump.
I agree, Rosé's rock look suits her so well!! 🔥 It's probably my favorite outfit of the MV (top 3 together with Jennie's blue outfit and Lisa's rap outfit) It gives her so much personality and charm! Love that they styled her like that!
YES! Pink Venom became my Instant favorite. And to put that into perspective, Playing With Fire has stayed my favorite since 2016. I love every song they have released, but PWF was always my favorite. But finally, it was toppled by Pink Venom! 🔥
Hearing it at first time, I was like 'ooh I don't like this one' but after hearing it the second time accidentally? I can definitely say I'm addicted to it like super!
Honestly, I was really actually waiting for your reaction and i thought you haven’t watched it because you don’t like it. Hearing your side is really nice. Thank you
I'm not a blink, honestly, not huge on much of their work. This being said, I like this song the most from them and for the August releases. In no way is this revolutionary, but it gets in your head and makes you smile and want to singalong. Not every song has to be ground breaking. My only issue, is the same as so many other songs right now especially kpop, filling part of the song with la-la or doo doo. Just add a final version and stop resting on filler.
It's not just songs right now kpop has been using onematapeia as filler forever. I don't understand why Blackpink seems to be the only group that gets hate for it but if I had to guess I'd say it's due to having a smaller musical portfolio.
Tbh my problem is the whole bridge. I can get used to the chorus but the bridge is just a repetitive formula. Jenlisa rap, Chaesoo bridge and then the same dance break with filler lyrics (d4= take a walk take a walk like fire, KTL= we must kill this love before it kills us too, HYLT= dudududu, and now this ratatata). I just feel like teddy got a bit lazy. But the chorus wasn’t as bad as people saying. It’s just the problem is teddy got blinks so used to the formula and concept that people were so quick to hate this
@@Mr4thQTR yeah if they had a bigger discography people wouldnt notice it as much, its normal for kpop groups to have a pretty formulaic song for their title tracks, but since they always have bsides to accompany, nobody minds it. but since blackpink has so few songs considering how long they've been active, its much more noticeable
Honestly... IVE's After Like and Billlie's Ring ma Bell sounded way better to me for august comebacks. Pink Venom just sounds like another BP song. Admittedly I've been turned off from the group after Kill This Love era so plenty of people like their specific non melodic rap heavy music
It was YG signature for using random words (and party vibe ending). From 2ne1, Bigbang, iKON etc. Back then people called it YG language 😂 it just SOOOO many song & group these day used that "recipes" which make it sounded ways to outdated.
At first I was like "... what?" when this came out cause the RRATATATA part was too repetitive. *BUT* then I loved the song, actually that part became my favorite and made me feel so powerfull idk why, the beat, the chant, it was too cool
Also I’m not a blink. I haven’t been rly into most of their songs since whistle (which I love) but this one is great. The chorus is catchy and they look cool performing it.
Glad you're feeling better now, PD! I don't have too many thoughts about the song, but I think the music video has a RIDICULOUS number of cuts, which makes it a bit disorienting to me. unhi on the kpop subreddit counted over 300 cuts over the course of the video. It has a side effect of making it hard to parse some of the visuals unless you pause. I'm still excited for the album but I hope the music video for the title track doesn't get treated the same way.
Lisa’s & Jennie’s rap part is the best! It has the vibes of 90’s Korean Hip Hop scene and I love it! But to be honest… I am still thinking and I still don’t know how I feel. I mean, it might be BLACKPINK’s the most experimental song because of the rap part I mentioned, JiSoo’s starting section playing with gayageum and more! But somehow like all in all, it feels as if it was simply remade How You Like That. Like from the composition point of view, I guess. Simply I feel like we are getting The Album all over again, which is great and I loved The Album, but I was expecting to (and now Kanye West pun intended) DO MORE 😎. But hey! It’s only a pre-release, so we will have to wait for the whole album to be able to answer this “question”/unsure feelings of mine. Personally, I am a bit unsure about BLACKPINK’s future under YGEnt. like if they are going to renew next year. Because this whole big promotion of this album (they said it would be their the most expensive music video etc), the tour announcement with so many stops. I don’t know, to me it feels like when 2NE1 had Crush album and then the All Or Nothing tour and after that was a big break and then the Goodbye/end.
the only think that feels remotely like HYLT is the lisa/rihanna part because of the arabic touch there.. else the sound is completely different. even the structure(beside the ending YG dancebreak). Anti drop. starting with an intense rap part... much faster paced beat.
i dont think they will let go bp just like that... they have one, if not the biggest, girl group in the world. YG built BP the way they are today... so they will surely cater the pinks demands if come to renewal of contracts. the big question would be, will the pinks renew? i feel like they will.. if they make the right demands... renew IF they give them more music while continuing their solo stints... both would be win-win for sure...
Yeah, it feels like the same stuff again and after such a big break, I REALLY hoped they'd do something different. It's a tiny bit different but still uses all the same BP catches and phrases.
Thank youuu, completely agree this is the direction i want for them! I disliked the chorus first listen but it quickly grew on me and i absolutely love it now, i think this sound is pretty new for them and fits them perfectly
Freakin' finally! Been waiting forever for this! I love your take on the 90's hiphop... Haven't heard a lot of hiphop from the 90's but the production does take me back to that time. Also don't get the hate on the chorus. It's a good hook, it's more 'full' than other bp choruses in terms of lyrics, repetitive they may be. But then that's what a chorus pretty much is. This also feels like a long song. Like, by the time we get to the outro, I had almost forgotten there was a rap in the 2nd verse! And it's my favorite part! The outro makes me hyped af! Like, head-banging-at-a-rock-concert hyped.
I love the song so much. Not just the mv and the visuals but the song itself. Even the anti drop, i like it. I love the transitions of each parts of the song.
Love ur thoughts and opinions about the song and I pretty much agreed to all of them. The chorus is amazing. I think in my opinion they r the only artist right now who is making the best mv. They experimented with their music style and took the risk and I love it
YESSS I got so happy hearing you speaking up about the ORIGINAL YG feels and mentioning Teddy.

Whistle isn't hip hop sound.
See, personally, I thought How You Like That got annoying the more I listened to it. This song just gets better and better every time I listen, which I think just shows that you don’t always need a big loud chorus for it to be a good song.
omgggg the same i felt 😭 hylt wasnt just it for me but this one is good tho??
It was great at first but as I listened to it more, it felt very loud and chaos but with this one, I liked how the chorus balances everything and it doesn't feel out of place
and since Pink Venom has better intro, verses, and pre chorus this song is just better to listen than hylt
I had the opposite effect. How you like that got better for me as listen to it with pink venom not so much

“ooooh that’s different “ my Ass!!! the chorus sounds like Ice cream

I'm really looking forward the album although I wish it was not only 6 new songs.

@@raulmartinez1797 I'm never worried about the quality of their music :) I'm so excited!!
As a person who loves 90's hiphop, and now my fav kpop group doing it was just like a gift to me, this song is a banger!!
pd, i literally dropped everything that i was doing when i saw that you’ve finally uploaded your reaction to pink venom. you’re one of the few reactors whom i truly respect their opinion. i am a huge bp stan and i genuinely like pink venom since i am a massive fan of anti drops. i understand why this isn’t some people’s cup of tea but for me, this is by far the most hype i have been for a pre-release. anyway, jisoo and rosé have been credited for a song on their upcoming album so i am really looking forward to your reaction to the full album!! hope you’ll recover fully pd, thanks for uploading this again
i agree. Too bad the promo for pv is too short 🥲
Agree

I actually visited your channel a couple of times to check if a new vid is up for Pink Venom. Finally it's here.
I don't know if I am exaggerating but it feels like there are way more cuts in this video than seconds man, that's so annoying to me.
i agree everytime in jisoo's part feels like a bit awkward to watch because of it's fast cut
i wouldnt say the fast cuts are bad(they are actually very purposeful to keep the song dynamic hype and energetic). but its kind of a waste for the super amazing expensive and beautiful set to only show them in such a short timeframe haha.
I agree that fast cuts can be an artistic choice to achieve a feeling or style but the fast cuts are found throughout the whole video even in parts where the song is not hectic, like the bridge for example.
yeah! the mv is kinda off for me too
Yes! The MV was really bad edited for me in question of the quick speed the shots were cut, but the song compensates it so much
i'm 100% with you! i was obsessed from the first listen, then i found out people were really not feeling it and i just didn't understand ahhaha. but of course everyone has their own taste. :)

I LOVED THE CHORUS
RATE 10/10
i love the chorus, it's super catchy which is what you need for a pre-release after a 2 year hiatus. and it's something so them to pull back and not give you the full blown chorus cos it just feels like the song is being performed on their terms, they're gonna give you the song how they want you to hear it.
people like to set up blackpink for everything, nothing they do will ever be good enough for everyone and i’m tired of even trying to make bp to everyone’s taste. I really like that you liked it pd, and after i listened to their rap part i knew you would love it!!!

i was waiting on this! this song has been so highly debated, and i always look forward to your opinion, so i was curious as to what you were thinking. thank you for your input! as always.
to answer your question about sequential music videos - that’s never been answered! there are theories, because all the imagery is very similar, especially between hylt, lsg, and pv. but i also think a portion of it is that each girl has very strong branding identities and themes they like to symbolize in the videos.
I loved Pink Venom from the first listen, especially the chorus! I think people are being really unnecessarily critical when it comes to BP songs, but that comes with success in kpop I guess. Can’t wait for the album!!
The more I listened to this song, the more I like it. It grew on me like literally.
the way they even used two different huge sets for the final chorus... their biggest budget video yet and you can tell!
also, as a fashion nerd, seing jennie hold that coco chanel bird cage in the beginning (while singing "waving that coco") was so awesom i freaked out. the visuals, vashion, the production, its all so good and addictive.
also, they performed this at the vmas and that was so cool! seing the taylor and bp interactions was so fun, and im not even a big fan of blackpink
I get why it takes YG so long so give them comebacks, because everything must take bloody ages to put together!
i love the chorus haha...if it's a color, it's toned just right, and feels both heavy and light altogether😁

I wouldn't have minded a variety show appearance tho 🤧

Personally i LOVED this song from the first time i heard it and the knetz loving it just says it all
It's a good song.
Sonically it's different from any bp release i loved the rock element in it esp in the pre chorus
The chanting the beat drop the rap part is literally one of the best blackpink songs
EXACTLY MORE PINK VENOM APPRECIATION 😭💗
Hearing it at first time, I was like 'ooh I don't like this one' but after hearing it the second time accidentally? I can definitely say I'm addicted to it like super!
I didn't like the chorus at first but I told myself that I know I WILL end up liking it lol and it did happen. I can't stop singing it now 😭
Honestly, I was really actually waiting for your reaction and i thought you haven’t watched it because you don’t like it.
I love this song, I'm obsessed with It. It's so strange, fun, and strong. I love this sound for them
At first I was like "... what?" when this came out cause the RRATATATA part was too repetitive. *BUT* then I loved the song, actually that part became my favorite and made me feel so powerfull idk why, the beat, the chant, it was too cool
I've been waiting for this reaction!... It took you so long!!!
This is actually one of my favorite Bp songs
Also I’m not a blink. I haven’t been rly into most of their songs since whistle (which I love) but this one is great. The chorus is catchy and they look cool performing it.
I love It. And and I like to see your mvs reacts so much, they make me think more about the MV.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!! Like it only took me like 2-3 listens and I’M ALL FOR ITT THIS IS THE SOUND I WANTED FROM BLACKPINK
Not the 90s korean hip hop scence so many songs weren’t even original copy off so many American artist
you totally incorporated all of my thoughts pdnim~ NAILED IT!!!
I loved this song, one of my fav songs from them,I liked it immediately as well😌
Thank youuu, completely agree this is the direction i want for them! I disliked the chorus first listen but it quickly grew on me and i absolutely love it now, i think this sound is pretty new for them and fits them perfectly
10:00 you may think of Rihanna - Pon De Replay
This is amazing from start to finish oh lord i love everything about that reaction
I wish i could see jisoo more with that instrument
Love ur thoughts and opinions about the song and I pretty much agreed to all of them. The chorus is amazing. I think in my opinion they r the only artist right now who is making the best mv. They experimented with their music style and took the risk and I love it
