    Wow, this is definitely one of the nicest garage builds I have ever seen! The build quality & attention to details is number one. I like to pause & rewind your videos just to admire the craftsmanship as well as listening to the excellent explanation for building everything the way you do. Thank you for taking the time to share your awesome talents.

    Spintech is another good one for US made mufflers. A lil different from standard ones but they sound rad

      Ill have to look into those as well, getting these V6's to sound halfway decent is a a challenge! V8 stuff I have a preffered muffler setup but im always trying to make the v6 stuff sound better

    If i may, exhaust pressure isnt a problem if its tuned for a straight pipe its like changing your exhaust on a dirt bike have to tune for the better flowing exhaust. Exhaust pressures only needed when theres turbos that need to be spun

    • @ChristianEwingVD
      @ChristianEwingVD 10 місяців тому

      This truck will not be getting tuned, I wanted to keep everything as close to factory as possible to keep it in check and not completely freak out. Going too big on exhaust diameter with no tune will cause the truck to over scavange and the power will 100% be effected and the fuel efficiency also goes down as well. Not that fuel efficiency is a huge concern at this point but im not trying to just purposely screw with it for no reason haha!

    Heat wrap cracks welds i’d put that gold heat tape on the floor instead just my opinion backed with science

    • @ChristianEwingVD
      @ChristianEwingVD 10 місяців тому

      I didnt mention everything that im gonna do in the video haha, exhaust is getting coated first, heat wrap all the way down it and then it will be getting the reflective heatshield gold tape on the underside of the cab after it gets coated as well. There may be cases where the wrap can cause failures in welds but id question the weld quality first before the wrap causing it. It 100% does make things rust alot faster but my rule of thumb after washing the truck (the only time the heat wrap is getting WET wet) is I will run the truck until the wrap isnt smoking anymore and everything is dried out. Our truck hasnt had any issues with the exhaust in the 4 years its been finished and its been wrapped the whole time. These trucks need everything you can do for heat management so its not really an option, its a necessity!

    A bypass bump zone isn’t exactly a true bump stop. As opposed to a true hydro bump stop that is very progressive + it’s an air shock that ramps up pressure very quickly as the shaft goes into the hydro bump body. A 1” stroke bump stop is harder to dial as it’s less progressive. I assume you will charge the bump to 180 psi . When that 1” hydro bump shaft goes into the bump it will only ramp up air pressure to a bit over 180psi. As opposed to a 4” stroke bump, which might be at 180psi but as the shaft goes into the bump body it ramps up pressure more progressively probably past 300 psi + . More progressive .

    1. What is the wheel width left to right?
    2. What is the distance between center of front hub to center of rear hub?
    3. At full compression on 35” tires what the ground clearance front, center, and rear?

    • @ChristianEwingVD
      @ChristianEwingVD 10 місяців тому +2

      Track is 82” wide, wheelbase is 110”, not 100% on ground clearance yet but this truck should be decently high off the ground at full compression compared to most

    Is this truck going to have A/C?

    • @ChristianEwingVD
      @ChristianEwingVD 10 місяців тому +1

      Not for the time being, I’m trying to come up with some vents that I have ideas for that should help a lot in that department. Gotta see what the truck is packaged like when it’s done, there may be no room for a vintage air or comparable unit in the cab.

    It’s not the back pressure it just slowing the exhaust gas speed down reducing scavenging. 😘

    What is the rough Caster angle you run on the beams near ride height?

    • @ChristianEwingVD
      @ChristianEwingVD 9 місяців тому

      On long travel beam kits youll be in the 8-15* of caster range at ride height

      @@ChristianEwingVD Thank You. My brother's Explorer we have been struggling with since we went from traditional coils to coilovers with it wanting to rise to full droop under power and dives to full droop when under braking. This is even with a swing set steering. Setting toe from straight to tied in etc nothing has helped so was curious on Caster as factory can only get roughly 4 degrees out of them.

    Exhaust grows and shrinks as it heats and cools, especially stainless.
    MTIRacingVBlog-"Here is a shot of the exhaust pipes growing and receding.
    The clip is sped up 2000% of the original speed to exaggerate the changes."
